Japanese watches are the best! I have Casio MTP1183. 10 years old. Still looks good and work very well, very versatile watch too. My uncle have still working Seiko 5 quartz bought in 1999. during war, opened only like two times.

You can't compare 10k high end jewerly watch with 50 bucks workhorse.
Cheap quartz casio, wear it every day, in mud, snow, summer, work with it, swim with it, when it dies you buy another one and you're good.

got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MAMACOO 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.

A lot of these places have a very similar approach to manufacturing than you may think, but the Japanese have an astounding difference to how they do things. I know i’m blessed to be in a position to visit these plants, but seeing a handful of these companies myself despite them operating in different industries has influenced my views on manufacturing from different countries. This is not by me, but from older colleagues who have told me that manufacturing quality in the West has been on a constant decline and I can agree to some degree as I was not impressed by the setup and operation of the manufacturing facilities in the American and European market. China has potential to do better but it all matters on the specifications given by the company outsourcing their labor. That’s why Apple products have far better quality than your typical knick knacks from Ali Baba, despite being from the same country. I would say the country that produces above average quality goods, consistently, would be Japan without a doubt. Just go to any Japanese multinational manufacturing plant and you’ll be surprised at how well their management is operating their facilities.

Seiko made the first quartz watch and they opened the trademark and technologies to other companies for free, to make the watch more affordable for anyone.
Just like how Denso opened the trademark for QR code, Japanese companies are very respectable.
Different from other businesses who only care about profits rather than societal good.
