@@EscarJoe101 Vegas Pro's video effects work off of a hierarchy system. Literally just think of it as rearranging Balatro Jokers and you're golden. Put all of the movement stuff at the very end so you minimize the amount of cutoff that happens.
I mean, Kdenlive feels worse and jankier, that thing corrupts video projects quite often, IF YOU ADD FADE BETWEEN CLIPS, lags just by adding motion/zoom to videos, and I don't even know what the other effects do because I didn't want to use them considering how unstable that thing was... I was forced to use it on an i5 10400F + 750TI on linux btw, so there's also that... maybe the lack of drivers for the GPU made it worse, but still
Incredible video bro! I used to use VEGAS from like 2016-2022, and yeah it totally is a pain the balls to use. I had to upgrade to Premiere just because I was so sick of it. This was such a fun quality vid and I understand you're gonna keep using VEGAS, but there ARE greener pastures, my friend. Premiere can be customized to be a similar, almost identical experience to using VEGAS in terms of timeline and shortcuts, and it just takes an afternoon, then you're smooth sailing. And on the topic of price, well, just keep sailing. It's incredibly easy.
I have never related to a video more I'm shocked you're not more popular. Because SAME I fucking HATE vegas pro but yet sometimes I keep going back to it, and it will always hold a special place in my heart because of the simplicity. I switched to after effects an year after vegas pro but goddamn was vegas pro SO good and efficient at doing small thing. I want to create a fade out? I just drag the upper left corner of the clip inwards. BOOM. Meanwhile I have to fuck around with stupid diamonds on after effects and KEYFRAME to create a fade out. What a bullshit system. But the MOMENT I have to pan and crop something in vegas pro, it WILL spit in my mouth.
As a DaVinci user...i can see what you mean. A couple disclosures, the deleting issue that messes up the timeline...in many cases it's useful but that one issue you demonstrated yea i have that BUT, the way to delete without it moving things is hitting backspace... don't know why. The other things with effects is no you don't have to use Fusion nodes, you can drag n drop effects from a panel but like half (if not, more) are under that wretched $295 paywall... Anyway aside from all that, i can see people who're more on the simple side using Vegas, hell i can see myself using it rather than Filmora.
i switched to davinci resolve some time ago and ill be honest, i cant go back to vegas now. its definitely a bit of a learning curve, but the stability, capabilities (especially for a free variant of a software), and ability for cross platform interaction has made it insanely hard to try and use vegas again. however, i cant deny at all that one of the big reasons people use vegas is because its simpler to understand. you dont need to learn and adjust nearly as long to get the gist of vegas as opposed to other editors, but that does not at all excuse it from its various issues and just general incompetence at times. i would recommend vegas as a beginners software and nothing more
After 7 years with Vegas I switched to Davinci and now after two years with it I can honestly say it was a game changer in any possible way And it’s pretty easy to learn if you knew Vegas well So I believe you shouldn’t be afraid to learn it, you can do all of the mentioned as „impossible” things in Davinci even quicker than in Vegas, just have to know how - the fact that something works differently doesn’t have to mean it’s worse or more complicated :))

I edit with Vegas Pro 15.0 on an i3 4005U with 8GB of RAM. I have also edited with Vegas Pro 15.0 on an i7 7700HQ with a GTX 1050TI and 16GB of RAM. The experience was similar on both... The only difference is my i3 bluescreens with 4K video editing and stops responding every 5 to 15 minutes, but other than that it's the same goddamn experience. Vegas is weird. IT ALSO CRASHES LESS OFTEN ON THIS I3.
Hold alt to zoom in and out on mouse wheel and effects are able to be dragged and dropped and can be edited on the inspector panel and also Davinci resolve has a free version that barely misses anything
and ctrl + scroll for scrolling through the timeline, if you need precision when placing the little timeline thing just click in the general area you've scrolled to and use the arrow keys

Move the Pan/Crop module to be after Warp Perspective so it ends up last and therefore shouldn't cut anything off.
Holy shit you are an actual god send by the heavens Thank You so much!

When I’m in a janky editing software competition and my opponent is Vegas Pro:

I mean your videos are so good quality, so your managing somehow
Despite..is the keyword
I pirated Vegas Pro and I still feel like I got scammed😂 switching to Premiere was the best decision of my life
same i learnt pp in 2 months and i got my first freelance gig after 3 months
i felt the same going from premiere to davinci resolve
A surprise? Sure. But a welcome one!
Escarjooooeeeeeeee

after effects is more of a compositing software for after cgi or after editing

Now you have something in common with Charlie (MoistCr1TiKal) except he swears by the software
I mean so do I tbf I have no plans to stop using it
Dude thank you I’ve never made content even remotely like this and I THOROUGHLY considered making my own Vegas hating video. Thank you
Glad I could help
"Gay little boxes!", and I felt that. Also the Ghastly Gibus on the Sony Vegas symbol was gold. lmao

Vegas Pro is dogshit but I've used 14 for so long now that it feels awful to use anything else.
This is so real it hurts😢
video editors try not to crash every 1 milisecond on even the most potent Nasa computers challenge:
Real editors just draw directly onto the film

scribe to esca indeed
you can zoom in and out with the scroll wheel on davinci resolve. just hold ALT while doing it
I do %90 of my editing while leaning all the way back in my chair like a goblin, pressing two keys just to zoom in and out is too much
The moon is flat
U mama isnt
VEGAS Pro not having a flexible way of nesting items made me want to switch to a cracked copy of Premiere Pro.
The problem with the text is because Vegas makes you move the canvas or the camera instead of the actual object, which is actually awful
Never used that application before
blud destroyed the whole IHTX community
i use capcut and the freaking math you have to work out to make something shake is so annoying that I just use keyframes and manually shake it 😭
i love this video because i suffer with the same fucking things on vegas

In davinci you can just drag fx onto clips, and to zoom out press shift and scroll wheel, and also alt + scroll wheel for horizontal zooming
and shift + alt to do both
and ctrl + scroll for scrolling through the timeline, if you need precision when placing the little timeline thing just click in the general area you've scrolled to and use the arrow keys
shift + arrow keys goes 1 second at a time
