    Thank you for reviewing these horns.. definitely helped me and other people out, and changed my mind about which horns I was prepared to buy. Apparently the vast majority of dislikes is from people with a vested interest in the Supertones (owners, sellers, Europeans). As Cartman would say: "Screw you guys I'm going home"... to Hella Twin Trumpet horns.

    I bought the Trumpet horns, they are much louder, have two tones and well, they sound much better. I've used them before, so while the "super tones" might look cool on a more modern car, they just don't really deliver.

  • @thegranddestination
    @thegranddestination 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

    IMHO, Supertones are way better. I have them on all 4 of my cars and on two previous ones. The German high pitch truly wakes up distracted drivers! 👌🏼👌🏼

    The twin trumpet horns sound a lot like American car horns, which are the best.
    They are the best because they don't have the wimpy beep-beep sound of Asian and European car horns.
    Car horns are not about sounding polite. The are about being a loud, brash, warning that is impossible to ignore.
    Euro and Asian horns fail miserably in that respect.
    I'd give my left nut for new production horns that sound and last like old American car horns.

    • @SneakerRant
      @SneakerRant 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe because in Asia they use horns to communicate in a more courtesy way. In America horns are used to tell other people that they are idiots and they should fuck off.

    The Sharptones are lower frequency than the Supertones, and sound more like stock, but louder.

    • @OpiateX
      @OpiateX 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, but the uploader said he didn't care for the Supertones because of their higher frequency, so I was pointing out that the Sharptones have a lower frequency, and they might be more to his liking.

      OpiateX To be honest, while I prefer the sound of the sharp tones over the super tones, the sharp tones sound higher pitched to my ear.
      Anyway, I dislike the cheap buzzing sound of both of them and think the trumpets are far superior.

    Well you talked me out of a supertone horn purchase because I purchased and installed the twin trumpets many years ago and they were just useless - about 1/5 as loud as the generic aftermarket I had put in and a lot less even than factory.
    So as supertone sounds even more quiet I'll pass.

    I put a set of the Twin Trumpet on my Ford Transit as the standard "beep beep" single tone horn sounded pathetic. Well pleased with the sound of the Hella Twins but now one has quit working.......after just two years so am not very pleased.

    • @NovaResource
      @NovaResource  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bulletguy07 How were they mounted? If they face forward or up, water can get inside and short them out. Always mount them facing downward or to the side to keep water out.

      I think (not 100% certain), damp/condensation may be the issue as winter weather here has been pretty bad so might try a squirt of contact spray or something. I can't see any other reason for it suddenly failing. Both horns were working the day before as i remembered using them....one day later and one horn had failed.

    the problem is with some vehicles a 2008 Honda CR-V i replaced the horns is there is not alot of space to mount the trumpet style horns as i got FIamm Freeway blasters for it similar to Hella as its was bending the brackets to position them so they won't hit the grille, brackets and the AC condenser. the twin Hella Supertone WILL NOT fit in 2007-2016 Honda CR-v and they don't sound approiate for some vehicles as i have the Supertones in my 1968 VW Beetle and they are german made more approiate for this vehicles the new Supertones are made in india i think some are made in China. as i like the trumpet style horns better and are more approiate in sound for late model and larger vehicles. medium duty trucks and busses. as Hella is OE to Volkswagen and the modern watercooled volkswagen use trumpet horns by bosch or Hella, for the main horn and some have a seperate alarm horn a disc horn by Hella as its located in the cowl where the wiper linkages are in the vehicle. as VW, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, and many other euro models use Hella as OE for lights and horns as well as cooling system ans other componets.
