I just want to thank every single one of you who takes the time to watch my videos. I hope they help you in some way. Feel free to leave a comment and respond to others as well so we can all learn more about the Bullmastiff breed together! This channel was created to track the life of our Bullmastiff Tua. Videos will be posted to show not only his physical growth, but his behavioral changes, obedience level changes, and our overall experience with the Bullmastiff breed. This will hopefully help anyone interested in the Bullmastiff breed by showing what to expect at very specific times all throughout a Bullmastiff's life! Although this will be more specifically about the Bullmastiff breed, the videos should give a very general idea about what to expect at certain ages of many different dog breeds. Thank you! Thank you for sharing your journey. My female Bullmastiff is going to be 1 year old next week ,she weighs 122lbs and is 25” tall to her back ,by 40” long nose to backside. This will be helpful as we transition into managing her food intake this year. Cheers 🥂
Your dog is definitely overweight, 122 lbs is way too much for a 25" tall bullmastiff. They are already prone to heat stroke and joint problems, you shouldn't be adding that much extra weight to them. A 25" tall dog shouldn't be more than 100 lbs.
My Bullmastiff, Otto, is 16 mos. old. I was prepared for drooling, but surprisingly, that's not been an issue. What I hadn't read about and wasn't expecting is the copious amount of mucus stuck to the walls and furniture, plus the smegma drips all over the floors. Drooling would have been easier. His veterinarian tells me that the smegma drip would decrease dramatically if I have him neutered. Apparently, the mucus on the walls is just part of the deal with a Bullmastiff. Fortunately, I think he's worth it. Do you have these issues with Tula?
Smegma yes. I wipe him several times a day to help reduce it. Drooling like you said isn't much of an issue. Pretty much just around drinking and meal time
@@bullmastiffnd9784 -- and the mucus everywhere? I had a Boxer, and it was somewhat of an issue, but this is a new level. Lot's of wall scrubbing.🙄 (Vet says he's completely healthy.)
It really depends on the size of the dog and what their situation is. If they need to lose, gain, or maintain weight. Also what their exercise/activity levels are
So he actually ate more calories in the first year. Raw food has roughly half the calories per pound compared to kibble, raw food is made up of mainly water.
No reason really. We already had a female dog. Our little min pin. And we knew a male BM would be bigger than a female. But didn't really give it too much thought. Just went with a male
Too much😞 2% of their standard body weight not present weight. The more they age the lesser coz they way past their development stage hence don’t need that amount of food

Awesome! She's going to be big. Big already!
@@bullmastiffnd9784 yes 👍 she is bigger than her fawn mom already, she got her brindle daddy’s genetics 🧬.

@@rationalcitizen5025 at times yes. But it hasn't been a massive issue like you are describing
How many cups a day did you feed him when he was 10 weeks old?
@fharper7237 Honestly, don't really remember. You could look back on my older videos from when he was around that age and I might mention it.
I imagine the result after that food to clean on walk
How much kibble Do u mean needs a 19 Month old bullmastiff ?
It really depends on the size of the dog and what their situation is. If they need to lose, gain, or maintain weight. Also what their exercise/activity levels are
Can I feed mine raw ground beef? Just like regular raw ground beef with the kibble
Absolutely. As long as it's not expired. Start out with a small amount to avoid diarrhea but otherwise it's perfectly fine
@@bullmastiffnd9784 thank you man, I appreciate it
Do you heat it up a little since it gets cold in the fridge?
No I just serve it as is. He doesn't seem to mind at all
@@bullmastiffnd9784 Oh okay. My boy, PJ, a Pug likes his wet food a little warm with his kibble.
Do that breed dig holes ?
Not that I'm aware of as a habit that typical to the breed. Mine never has
@@bullmastiffnd9784 your blessed then

Why did you pick a Male bullmastiff over a Female Bullmastiff???
