I had a dream giratina existed in real life and trapped me in a dark towers & suddenly I was in the underground but it was pitch black and all I could see was giratinas dark shadow (darker than the pitch black) and red eyes, it was terrifying
I love how when CandyEvie finds a shiny even if it took her 7 years she just lets out a little laugh, but hunters like ADrive falls off his chair screaming when he finds one in less than a day of hunting

Although I did try hunting a shiny Hidden Ability Froakie back in X and while I got bored very quickly I still kept putting myself through the pain for about a week straight before I used up every bit of patience I had and just gave up. To this I still have never gotten that Froakie through legit means. I have hacked one in a couple playthroughs but those saves were deleted long ago.

I understood this so hard. When I got Pokemon Gold I was 12 years old, and I found a shiny Sentret, my very first shiny, in the grass next to New Bark Town. The issue was, I didn't have Pokeballs yet. Years later I managed to breed for a shiny one in X and Y just to finally have the little guy.
Saaaame but with Wurmple. Got him by complete accident in a fangame but I had no acsess to Pokeballs at that point in the game. Last year i shiny hunted it in Alpha Sapphire. I named her Ella and she evolved into a Beautifly. Later while i was trading her over to X, I discovered that I suddenly had 3 Ella's across the two games!
I once got a shiny eevee from pokemon black. Hatched eggs to get it. Also, found a shiny gastly in SS in the safari you create. I like the older pokemon odds than the ones we have now truthfully. gives that sense of accomplishment and value.

I'm haunted by this shiny Ralts, I was 15 when I decided to hunt one down in omega ruby and hunted it for 2 weeks, I was in such a pattern of k.o.ing and catching that i just murked it after over 647 encounters, my heart has remained broken ever since
I tried to find shiny ralts and zigzagoon in Emerald back in the day because a friend of mine got a shiny absol and told me what shinies were. Never got em. Might try getting them in Sw Sh to fulfill my childhood desires.
i mean, was it REALLY seven years? she stopped playing the game for periods of time. I literally spent a year and two months shiny hunting a dratini through hatching eggs in SoulSilver and never got a single shiny and decided action replay vengeance was needed. And i mean a year, i spent time just going up and down through goldenrod city only for the purple looking dratini to be another normal dratini.

I found a shiny Geodude and a shiny Graveler about a day later way back when the newest of the main games were still gen 2. Wasn't even shiny hunting, was just trying to get a Skarmory for the Pokedex lol. Sadly failed both cause on the route them and Skarmory are wild in, those rocks all knew self-destruct. So yeah that sucked, plus abilities weren't a thing yet so it wasn't really preventable besides hypnosis/sleep powder and I didn't have my Butterfree on me or Hypno. The Abra line didn't get hypnosis I think? At least not as early as Drowzee and Hypno get it
Me with scyther- I caught it but released it because I didn't know it was a shiny, since it was my first scyther caught. I was little and I thought it was scary.
My first shiny I almost killed since it was a shiny golduck on black 2. I was watching football at the time looked down and paused for a second like is this a shiny or not caught it went to look at it and it had the red star in the corner made me quite excited. This poor golduck was turned into an HM slave may he Rest In Peace
In Omega Ruby, I spent like an hour chain fishing and got SO many shinies (I also got a full odds oddish on accident during the story. That baby is my second favorite shiny out of all my games)
I have successfully hunted before. Last year I got a shiny Larvitar after two hours of hatching eggs. But my patience tends to run thin after a while, so I haven't gotten any since.
Tbh, I feel this. I didn't take 7 years for my target, but I went a year and a half, going unhealthy hard at the hunt, with almost the exact same story-- common on the route, but getting everything else, multiple times. When I took a break, I was in the same game, circling back to the same place to try again. 11 phases in the spot and more around town too, but during that time that pokemon was all I wanted. It's been a little hard to let myself phase since! Congratulations on your Sentret, I'm so glad you were finally able to claim it!

I have been suffering with heavy depression, social anxiety, anxiety and heavy stress recently, school has been awful, so seeing a CandyEvie video pop up on my notifications after a month really puts a smile on my face. I've had my copy of FireRed since 2007. Over half my life's gone by and I've never seen a single shiny. You finding so many just to get a Sentret is giving me momentum to try to get a shiny starter again--thanks a lot.
This was a very fun hunt to watch on stream. Even if I did find a random shiny Weavile literal minutes after the shiny Pidgeotto appeared....only to not realize till I had KOd it. Nope not still salty over that at all

I got my first shiny (without Action Replay 😁) when I first played Pokémon Moon and hunted for a shiny wimpod. I wanted a shiny golisopod to use against Guzma so badly, so I toughed it out day after day after day. Until one day, I was going out with my family and best friend to a hockey game and I was still soft resetting for that wimpod while we watched the game. And during a match, right there, after 30 days of who knows how many soft resets, it appeared to me. Finally, I was able to obtain the golisopod of my dreams and annihilate Guzma with him. And then, much later in my playthrough, lightning struck twice. I was playing the game in physiology class with a close friend watching and on my way to Team Skull's hideout, by some off chance I ventured through the tall grass as usual and what do I find jumping out at me? A shiny ariados, that's what. I got so excited because I was shiny hunting for anything and yet this shiny purple ariados jumps to me. Por supuesto, I caught it. All of the main games afterward have so far failed to compel me to play them. I have Ultra Sun, but it was too similar to Moon to encourage me to make it through Akala. However, for the next one that does, I will be ready to hunt for more shinnies that appeal to me. Even if it takes me half a year or so 😂
If you dream something like this, from personal experience, try forgetting about it. Then, wait a couple of years, and wuala! Dream suddenly comes true.
All those repeats are heartbreaking. Glad you’re doing gen3 they have the best shinies😄 I have a Manectric, Alakazam and rattata. A few others in later games but they don’t feel as special.
I got one from the second cyndaquil egg I hatched while shiny hunting them. I'll admit it was on Pokémon moon so shiny odds are higher than earlier gen games and the shiny charm is super easy to get. I wish you luck in finding your shiny cyndaquil

This why full odds is my favorite way of hunting. Longer hunts can really be exciting and so rememberable. And it can really scare the life out of you when you find it faster than you thought on a occasion. So happy you finally found it major congrats! Never give up.😁😍

Sentret is the first shiny I ever found in a Pokemon game (apart from the red Gyarados of course) and is part of the reason why Furret is my favourite pokemon. It was cool to watch hunting for a shiny Sentret

I've never had that dream. I don't get most of the "common" dreams. Never fell, only flew twice and with wings and gravity as factors, I've been naked/in underwear several times but not in public. I don't know, maybe there's an extra screw loose in my brain.

I tried to find shiny ralts and zigzagoon in Emerald back in the day because a friend of mine got a shiny absol and told me what shinies were. Never got em. Might try getting them in Sw Sh to fulfill my childhood desires.

i mean, was it REALLY seven years? she stopped playing the game for periods of time. I literally spent a year and two months shiny hunting a dratini through hatching eggs in SoulSilver and never got a single shiny and decided action replay vengeance was needed. And i mean a year, i spent time just going up and down through goldenrod city only for the purple looking dratini to be another normal dratini.

@@sinfulmudkip8138 Sure it was 7 years until she got it, but she didn't _spend_ 7 years trying to hunt it down. She said herself that she only spent about two or so years trying to actively shiny hunt, and 5 years _not_ hunting for it.

I found a shiny Geodude and a shiny Graveler about a day later way back when the newest of the main games were still gen 2. Wasn't even shiny hunting, was just trying to get a Skarmory for the Pokedex lol. Sadly failed both cause on the route them and Skarmory are wild in, those rocks all knew self-destruct. So yeah that sucked, plus abilities weren't a thing yet so it wasn't really preventable besides hypnosis/sleep powder and I didn't have my Butterfree on me or Hypno. The Abra line didn't get hypnosis I think? At least not as early as Drowzee and Hypno get it
Me with scyther- I caught it but released it because I didn't know it was a shiny, since it was my first scyther caught. I was little and I thought it was scary.

In Omega Ruby, I spent like an hour chain fishing and got SO many shinies (I also got a full odds oddish on accident during the story. That baby is my second favorite shiny out of all my games)

I have successfully hunted before. Last year I got a shiny Larvitar after two hours of hatching eggs. But my patience tends to run thin after a while, so I haven't gotten any since.

Ironically, That was actually the first and only shiny Pokemon I ever caught. I didn't even know it was shiny till I had a battle with a friend.

Tbh, I feel this. I didn't take 7 years for my target, but I went a year and a half, going unhealthy hard at the hunt, with almost the exact same story-- common on the route, but getting everything else, multiple times. When I took a break, I was in the same game, circling back to the same place to try again. 11 phases in the spot and more around town too, but during that time that pokemon was all I wanted.
It's been a little hard to let myself phase since! Congratulations on your Sentret, I'm so glad you were finally able to claim it!

I've had my copy of FireRed since 2007. Over half my life's gone by and I've never seen a single shiny. You finding so many just to get a Sentret is giving me momentum to try to get a shiny starter again--thanks a lot.

I got my first shiny (without Action Replay 😁) when I first played Pokémon Moon and hunted for a shiny wimpod. I wanted a shiny golisopod to use against Guzma so badly, so I toughed it out day after day after day. Until one day, I was going out with my family and best friend to a hockey game and I was still soft resetting for that wimpod while we watched the game. And during a match, right there, after 30 days of who knows how many soft resets, it appeared to me. Finally, I was able to obtain the golisopod of my dreams and annihilate Guzma with him.
And then, much later in my playthrough, lightning struck twice. I was playing the game in physiology class with a close friend watching and on my way to Team Skull's hideout, by some off chance I ventured through the tall grass as usual and what do I find jumping out at me? A shiny ariados, that's what. I got so excited because I was shiny hunting for anything and yet this shiny purple ariados jumps to me. Por supuesto, I caught it.
All of the main games afterward have so far failed to compel me to play them. I have Ultra Sun, but it was too similar to Moon to encourage me to make it through Akala. However, for the next one that does, I will be ready to hunt for more shinnies that appeal to me. Even if it takes me half a year or so 😂
If you dream something like this, from personal experience, try forgetting about it.
Then, wait a couple of years, and wuala! Dream suddenly comes true.

I got one from the second cyndaquil egg I hatched while shiny hunting them. I'll admit it was on Pokémon moon so shiny odds are higher than earlier gen games and the shiny charm is super easy to get. I wish you luck in finding your shiny cyndaquil

This why full odds is my favorite way of hunting. Longer hunts can really be exciting and so rememberable. And it can really scare the life out of you when you find it faster than you thought on a occasion. So happy you finally found it major congrats! Never give up.😁😍

I've never had that dream. I don't get most of the "common" dreams. Never fell, only flew twice and with wings and gravity as factors, I've been naked/in underwear several times but not in public. I don't know, maybe there's an extra screw loose in my brain.

I freaking hate that recurring nightmare. Like I’m’not even scared of the deep, but this precise situation of encountering a huge moving man made object in an underwater environment somehow terrifies me.

@@kirbyfan4 The number 1 reason why shines feel so special is because you've worked hard to get them hunting for ages. Trading shines to people doesn't make them feel special anymore, at least imo.
@@zombombhuntermcoc3342 I pretty much have the same mentality. Either I find the shiny myself or it's not mine. I don't trade for shinnies and any shiny that have crazy high rates (basically too easy to find) don't count for me.
