I knew your uncle. My family is from Massachusettes and Bobby used to hang out with my dad in Salem. He was always around from 1970 to 1980 or so. Those were my earliest years and Bobby was always great fun to hang with.
I wish i had the chance to meet him again to talk more about his career..im working on a the history of our family and wanted to hear the great stories he had.
Yes he did write that song for his brother Jerome. Jerome was killed at a nightclub while doing security. Uncle Bobby worte alot songs for different artists like Lou Rawls "Natural Man". After his hit song he took a break for while to take care of family. He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opera in Nashville.
