lol That 60ºF was inside the fuselage, it was a bit colder outside. Our winters are still relatively mild though, compared to most places.

Interesting that you were using the DL. I'm pretty sure I will be adding the RadioMaster ELRS because I want to compare to the DL. Do you have any thoughts on the RM ELRS system?

I've been flying Dragonlink since the V1 system and never had issues with it. Something is clearly wrong here though, both DL and Walksnail were struggling. It's almost like something was transmitting nearby or there's some other issue. When I get to fly again I'll see if it's an ongoing problem and if so, start digging for the root cause... lol I've recently started to fly ELRS, mostly using gear from Radiomaster. It's a nice change of pace just learning some of the new settings and things, but it's proven to work well. I've been quite impressed with the performance on 2.4GHz, just because until now I associated 2.4G R/C links with close range LOS type stuff.
Glad you posted this dolphin flight. Love the osd settings and the overall tune you have set. Needed a relaxing flight like that today. And as always,great video and keep them coming!!

I'd love to see some more Swordfish flights except with the VTX/Cam on the canopy rather than in the middle of the plane. I use the black wing fences for the V-tail and with that and a 3S 4200mah and it balances really nicely.
I kind of like looking over the nose from behind the motors on the Swordfish... lol I have a 4S 5000 21700 pack in mine and it balances pretty good with that. I can use a 18650 too if I slide it forward a bit. I never tried the plastic tail pieces, I was determined to get it flying well without them and never tried them after. They look like they're just begging to snag in the grass on landing... lol

Do you have a video showing all your gear and your build? Is this video footage what you see when flying? Even a mile out?
There's a kind of overview of the plane at the beginning of this one: th-cam.com/video/usIQ-Ai6fWA/w-d-xo.html The video shown here is exactly whats on screen when flying. I have the HDMI signal out of the Walksnail VRX into a splitter, one goes to my monitor and the other to my HDMI recorder.
Why is your wind speed indicator arrow not moving on this one? Nice flight brother
Mostly because the wind speed was rather low, so the AP couldn't get a good estimate of the direction it's coming from. If I'd loitered in one spot long enough it would get a better read on it, but typically if the wind is low enough that it can't estimate it well, it's not a factor anyway.

It's the V3 915MHz system. I've been using all Dragonlink systems since V1 without issue. This flight is clearly showing a problem though, something is not normal. If it shows up again next time I fly I'll have to dig deeper and investigate.

How do you compare the Dolphin with the swordfish for long range cruise in windy conditions?
The Dolphin flies a bit smoother for me in the wind, and can certainly be more efficient than the Swordfish. It will speed up and fly faster too without much penalty in efficiency. All around I'd say the Dolphin is the better option if you don't mind launching it. I've never had a problem getting it in the air, but some do. They are both good planes though, and either one is a good option. I enjoy flying them both.

What do you use for your pan setup it looks nice and close to the canopy
Look at the start of this video there's a sort of overview of the plane - th-cam.com/video/usIQ-Ai6fWA/w-d-xo.html It's just a 270º servo mounted in the foam forward of the canopy with the camera mounted to the servo arm using a camera bracket from some old analog cameras. Simple but it works!

Time to drop the Dragonlink and go ELRS?
This here is certainly not typical of Dragonlink. I've been flying it for years without issue, there's clearly something wrong though that was affecting both the Dragonlink and Walksnail signals. I do have ELRS gear now and will be using it more in the future, but that doesn't mean Dragonlink is any different now than it has always been. They'll peacefully coexist and both perform well... lol
