- Just a quick demo of a firmware being tested for Walksnail, showcasing the lack of OSD flicker while recording onboard. Finally! lol

Great video m8....I recently learned Giroflow and now have exactly the same resonance issues depending on throttle position / light levels...The Flicker Fix is great news, hope to see the release soon...Thanks for your trialing...🤔😳👍🇬🇧
Would be great to see this issue quashed or at least reduced. Thanks for working with Walksnaill for testing, real life testing is so important.
Super smooth flight!
Not a topic of this video, but as you've flown many different twins; what is your ranking out of those: Reptile Dragon 2, Atomrc Swordfish, Finwing Albabird? 😅
Nice video, with nice progress on the OSD consistency. It's been great to see steady improvements over the last year. (both hardware and firmware)
One thing I noticed with the Swordfish in level Cruise, is there is a little pitch wobble cycle happening. Nose slowly drifts up/down at ~1 Herz. Can even see in reviews (7:20, 4:50). The throttle % is also varying +/- 2% (~38-42%) vs holding a steady value. This seem more common with twins. Don't think this would impact gyroflow in anyway, thought worth mentioning, just in case.
The pitch thing is mostly there because I keep changing props, and TECS is tuned for the old props. These fly a bit faster at the same throttle, so the FC gets into a loop trying to manage throttle altitude and speed with things reacting different than it expects... lol I'll get it sorted when I decide which props to stick with.
Was wondering if prop related. Makes perfect sense. Priorities. One day there might be prop profiles. LOL.
On a positive note, the bobbles and throttle cycling is useful in it's an indicator of props being more/less efficient.
Ah, Super walk through of the issues. My experience has been using the InstaGo 2 camera and I do like some of its stabilized footage like the low level footage. The Walksnail sure looks to have great potential.
I love the recording from the hdmi out. I will have to do that. It’s too much work for me to download and stabilize. It takes the fun out of it for me.
What antennas are you using on your Vrx ? Stock , TrueRC, … ?
Thank you for the update
Hi Keith, Is it this good with INAV now ? Thanks Steve
It should be, I've seen a couple if flights with the same firmware from others using inav and it's working fine for them as well.
Hey I saw the LQ and RSSI flicker at 2:25-2:27 lol. Looks pretty good though :)
I too noted some flicker @ ~2:57-3:05-ish (@2:50) - specifically on the flmode and airspd/gndspd UI elements.
How do you turn on the onboard recording?
In the menu, record setting can be VTX, VRX, or Both.
@@bonafidepirate Thanks.
@@bonafidepirate Can the recording icons and red lights be removed from OSD. I'd personally get annoyed by the blinking. I'm going to buy the AR V2 dual antenna for my xmas present:)
@@TeezoDouble You can turn them off, but it requires turning off the whole Walksnail OSD (the built in stuff, separate from your FC's OSD)
Where can I get the firmware?
It's still a closed beta right now, should be released soon I'd think.
@@bonafidepirate does the new firmware also solve the problem with the onboard video artifacting on longer flights ? And will it continue recording onboard, if we loose the video link ?
Gyroflow footage would look nicer on something like the ranger without the nose poking out. The regular non gyroflow video looks great.
I played around with Gyroflow a bit on the AR Pro some time ago, and got better results there. It's prop is better balanced though, and it has rubber motor mounts too. lol
This is good news. The flickering really gives me the shits and is distracting
Fantastic flying and footage, Keith! 😃
Great to know about the improvements! Any news about the range limitation?
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
you have some porpoise on the pitch access...
Yep, it's all tuned up for the other props I was running, these tend to fly a bit faster at the same throttle setting, so gets in a loop when trying to manage speed and altitude at the same time... lol I'll get it all sorted out when I settle on what props I like best.
