  • Hello friends. I've been sewing some cool relaxing knit projects, and they have been super fun and satisfying. I’ve made the Palazzo pants and Yours truly flounce tank from Pattern Emporium.
    The Palazzo pants have amazing pockets and I’ve hacked other pockets to belike this in the past….no need here: they are just like I love them.
    The tank is adorable and a staple. See how to cut it to save fabric, non-traditional binding and a silly mistake we all are bound to make.
    There's a new poncho pattern that has been released, but I'm not a poncho person he he. Along with the Poncho, Kate (the owner) has other patterns 15% OFF also until Noon, Monday (Australian Eastern Standard time). That’s Sunday night in the USA.

    Thanks for yet another very informative video, Karina! You give so much information, I especially like learning about the fabrics you do - or don’t - recommend! It’s great to have the top and pants in one tutorial. I love Pattern Emporium patterns.

    Hi Karina. I've watched you do that underarm increase a few times now. Like you I prefer it to be higher for more coverage, so I think you've finally given me the confidence to try it. It does look so much nicer. Your pants turned out so cool. Loving that pocket. They both look beautiful on you. You have to love swishy lol. Thanks again

    I purchased both patterns via your affiliate link. I hope that helps. I think both pieces will look nice on me even though I am a plus size. Luckily the pattern size does go up high enough for me. I will make mine out of rayon or cotton as I can't wear polyester in the summer. Thank you so much for this video!

    I have both of these patterns. I have made the palazzo pants and love the way they fit. Now that I have seen you make the flounce tank, I'm inspired to make one for myself. As usual Karina your videos are so well done and inspirational. Thank you!

    Wow this is such a sophisticated looking outfit from quite simple shapes and patterns. I am definitely getting Versace vibes from your Palazzo’s, which I now think I need in my life!

    I love a maxi skirt, so these pants really appeal to me as an alternative piece to my wardrobe. I overlooked the top pattern but now love it. Thanks so much for the brief twin needle tutorial, I just recently purchased one with my last fabric haul. I’ve never seen knits so it’s great to see you making it look so easy. Once again, thanks!

    This is another perfect hot weather ensemble! After seeing your fabulous Pattern Union Phoebe Flares, another beautiful pant pattern, I was hoping to see your version of the Pattern Emporium Palazzo Pants for more inspiration. I always love when you add leather-look jersey details to your garments. Such a simple detail really elevates the look. Dressy yet comfy! :)

    I just bought the tank; I really like the flounce with the tank. I like the flounce with the slightly smaller depth, with the change you made. It looks stylish this way, and intentional!

    I’ve made the PE Pleats to Meet You pants and I love them! There’s something special about all these PE patterns. They appeal to me so much, and the photos of everyone in all sizes and fabric choices is so inspirational!
    I have these two PE patterns and plan to make them soon so your video is very timely. Your discussion on knits is what I need to hear.
    Your top and pants look so cute!

    Beautiful matching of that print on the palazzo pants! I really like that top with the subtle flounce too. Great recovery with the mishap👍. I’m going to check out the top, I didn’t notice if it had a FB option or not.

    I have a question - I want to make my daughter (20 years old) some palazzo pants. I have a Cotton Lawn fabric. I know this pattern is for knits but do you think I can make it with a woven? I just love your channel and have followed so many of your sewing tips to become a much better sewer! Thank you for the inspiration.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you can’t make these with a woven at all. They just won’t fit and won’t go over the hips. The Samara from Itch to Stitch are also a wide leg designed for wovens and they have a zipper on the hips. You can see my video about them here: th-cam.com/video/T6-3phYAbVA/w-d-xo.html

    The fabric for the pants is just fantastic. Where should this palazzo pants fit at the crotch? Against the body or lower? I have sewn the Pleats to meet you from PE and the crotch is very low. I have now made a mock short version of this one as you have, but I am uncertain as to how I determine how much to add or remove.

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The crotch is a tad lower than you’d have in fitted woven pants but it’s the intended fit. It also has a lot to do with the fabric choice and if it’s got a lot of vertical stretch. Rayon spandex would hang lower than ITY with the same pattern pieces and size.

    It's always a pleasure watching you. Thanks for these sewing tips. Would you suggest how to get my neckline facing to lay flat?. I make my own patterns and the neck facings are always a challenge. Thank you in anticipation.

    • @susandalen7985
      @susandalen7985 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you tried understitching your facings? I think that might solve your problem.

    Hi Karina thank you for the awesome video’s. I bought the pattern to make it for my daughter. Could you possibly do a short tutorial on how to do the elastic waistband for this pant please. Do you think a stretch corduroy would work with this pattern

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your corduroy is a knit with vertical stretch it will be ok. If it's only a stretch woven and has zero vertical stretch I would not use it. Because I have already made a video about this pattern, it is unlikely I would make another one with the waistband. Also, I really can't make short videos on my channel. It is very well explained in the instructions.

    Can you tell me how you measure the rise in pants. I have seen varying methods. This question is for LN duet trousers, but, it might not hurt to post it here. I wasn't sure whether you'd check questions on a youtube video from 2 years ago. TIA, Patti

      I suggest you watch my pant fitting series. This is not a question I can answer here in a comment. This video will show you how to measure your rise and compare it to the pattern. th-cam.com/video/PTOCN_VLJeA/w-d-xo.html
