I’ve learned so much from watching your videos! One of the best tips I’ve taken away front them is the importance of basting. I’m in the process of completing 3 Aria and I just can’t get over how beautiful my necklines are after basting them first. Your knowledge is priceless. Thank you for sharing it with us❣️

I haven't sewn in rayon much but I do sew silk satin and silk chiffon. I wouldn't even try it, without first heavily starching the fabric. I use old fashioned powder starch which is only available in one supermarket in my city. Makes a huge difference and rinses out easily when the garment is finished. Good for acetate lining too.

I am very happy to discover your channel. I consider myself a semi-advanced seamstress and have still learned new things in your in-depth classes on techniques. Hadn’t done a collar with stand in five years, and used your reverse collar sew technique yesterday with great success. You are a great teacher and structure the videos as a real class. That takes a lot of work! I agree 100% with your habit of hand basting. Pins can distort picky areas and get in the way at the machine. 1-2 min of quick basting assures better results and saves time & fabric damage.

I've said it before, but once again: you find the most beautiful fabrics! I love sewing with, and wearing rayon, but it definitely can be somewhat difficult, time-consuming and even frustrating (especially cutting out the pattern) to work with. Thank you! Rayon (challis) is my all time favorite fabric. I have learned learned over the years how to tame it! I pre wash and put in the dryer. Moving forward I machine wash the garment and dry on a rack. I press when it is almost dry and it looks and wears beautifully. For narrow hems I use 1/4 inch doubke sided fusible tape on raw edge then fold it up and top stitches perfectly.

About to sew with rayon challis for the first time. I've known *of* squaring fabric before cutting and sewing, but never *how* to do that.
So from your video, I'm going just pick a spot on the edge and cut, and then rip it. (This is why I bought the $2.96 stuff, so I'm not ruining a more expensive yardage! I have to tell myself it's just practice fabric!)

I've learned a lot, yes was very helpful. As I type this I'm working on a rayon dress for mother's day. My biggest struggle is serging the edges. It always seems to be so bulky when I use a 4 thread. So I practiced and using a 3 thread was better. You have definitely influenced me to try French seams. I love rayon too, my favorite. Brazil looks so pretty, I love listening to learning TH-cams while I sew. Thank you so much!!!

Hi Karina, Fantastic video as always. I’ve learned such a lot, especially getting the cut edge straight and serging fabric before washing it, what a good idea. Also, viscose is my favourite fabric, but I didn’t realise it was quite so sensitive to heat, lots of good advice on that, thank you. Really enjoying your videos on collars and tried your method on the little mandarin collars to much success. My next learning curve will be watching your video on cuff plackets and then trying it out. You’re so accomplished and very generous to be sharing your knowledge with us all. Marie 💕

Thank you so much! Good to be reminded of the basics of creating a beautiful garment. As you show so clearly, short-cuts are definitely not the way.
Thank you again - take care, ❤🌷
