I went through the system as a youth and young adult. I remember watching They Call Us Monsters multiple times when it was released. I still watch it from time to time. To see Jarad and now Juan released and interviewed on this channel is such a relief. I look forward to seeing the other two on here eventually. Keep up the incredible work.

It’s so difficult because there are victims who some are no longer here because of the choices this man made. But I know he was a kid when he made those choices . He seems very apologetic and he will live a lifetime of that burden on his shoulders and that’s what his karma is . But as a mom of young boys I think if this was my son and I think what if my son was the victim. It’s very difficult. But glad to see he learned from it all

@@runup3639 BOOM! well said took the words from me, but can you imagine being the mother whose son is in prison? the things they go through daily in there, I think death would be easier, you cannot help them once the system has them, you can't protect them anymore, I can't decide what is worse. By the Grace of God, this one made it out, but so many don't and they are lost forever, and their families are suffering with them.

Oh I am in tears right now! I am on the way late freight and only saw this documentary the other day, and to see him AND Jared out! Gives me some hope. Did he go and get "the girl"?? and he is back in the US. Oh God is certainly good, because you boys were NEVER monsters! You, like myself, were victims of our environment, our parents having to work and not being able to supervise us the way we needed, etc. I was in prison by the time I was twenty, I am a violent offender as well. After my last violation, during 9/11 , that was it for me it wasn't a game anymore, my kids were in danger (potentially at the time it seemed like in that cell, we didn't know wtf was happening) and I got out and changed EVERYTHING. Because we grow up, and I am so grateful you made it baby boys!!! You are beautiful souls, don't you ever forget that, our past doesn't define us, it shapes us into the people we are today and you are stronger than most, you will do well in whatever venture you set your mind to, you can acheive ANYTHING!
