I went through the system as a youth and young adult. I remember watching They Call Us Monsters multiple times when it was released. I still watch it from time to time. To see Jarad and now Juan released and interviewed on this channel is such a relief. I look forward to seeing the other two on here eventually. Keep up the incredible work.
Yes me too, I grew up in the system from the Halls, camp programs to Y.A and then eventually CDC. I seen the documentary some years back. So I feel you on that, It's definitely good to see these young homies free 💯

THE VOLUME IS LOW! BUT OVERALL SUCH A GREAT INTERVIEW WITH JUAN LOVE HOW YALL BEEN KEEPING UP WITH THE DUDES FROM NETFLIX DOC ON THEY CALL US MONSTERS.
Yeah idk why they don’t speak right into the mic
An interview we needed
loved this interview, very well done. Juan is so well spoken and very articulate. One viewer feedback note-Mic placement, for better sound quality for many of us can you consider extending the mics closer? At times the sound quality would linger in and out and sounded echo'd. Thank you, great job guys!!
Love the podcast, keep up the great work!
As long the podcast took on this interview. I couldn’t stop watching interesting story. Hope Juan continues to speak his voice and makes an impact on other kids. 👍🏽🙏🏽

He’s lucky he didn’t get deported!! Cause if he did he’d be in those crazy ass prisons that El Salvador president just introduced to every 18 and MS member!
I WENT TO SCHOOL WITH THIS GUY . SO GLAD HE’S OUT ! GOD BLESS HIM 🙏🏻
Yeah never mind the murder… pos
@@tankguy1981Never mind the second attempt at murder. POS!!!!
You better walk the other way if you ever come across this POS!!!
@@tankguy1981did he murder an innocent person or a gang related person?
@@Azdude801how is he a pos? Did he rape? Or child abuse ? Or kill someone innocent with no gang ties? Or what he do?
I remember this documentary !!!
It’s so difficult because there are victims who some are no longer here because of the choices this man made. But I know he was a kid when he made those choices . He seems very apologetic and he will live a lifetime of that burden on his shoulders and that’s what his karma is . But as a mom of young boys I think if this was my son and I think what if my son was the victim. It’s very difficult. But glad to see he learned from it all
That’s gang violence he didn’t target innocent people he targeted enemies of his gang, he seems like a changed man it’s hard to understand someone unless you grew up in that same cycle.
@@runup3639 BOOM! well said took the words from me, but can you imagine being the mother whose son is in prison? the things they go through daily in there, I think death would be easier, you cannot help them once the system has them, you can't protect them anymore, I can't decide what is worse. By the Grace of God, this one made it out, but so many don't and they are lost forever, and their families are suffering with them.
Good shii juan wish nothing but the best
Are you guys going to interview the last young guy from they call us monster

@@reentrynetworkpodcast. i work with youth in LA County who are currently on Probation and try to get them to make better choices and hope the can be productive members of society, real good story.
The interviewer must be from the suburbs because we all joined the hood when we were 11,12-13... It was normal.
16 or 17 was already considered old to be joining a hood
@@JohnnycarameloGL exactly 💯
Or you guys can come to Jesus
I never knew he got out!
I been to cya and la county jail but never been to prison 🙏,,,,, my to homies are doing life with no parole sad !!!! But am always praying for for the them 🙏🙏🙏,,, great video and interview guys 💯🔥👍
Prayers will only get them so far you should consider writing a letter and if you can putting some money on their books that will go a long way
@@gets187heck yea especially a letter since you been to county you already know how good it feels to get a letter from somebody on the out
Solid! 🙏🏽🫡
Did they release that project film?
Would you still be happy to interview this guy if it was your brother or loved one that he killed..that guys life he took will never get to suprise his kids or see his mom or eat homemade food..hope this dude really changed his life around
No doubt if it was my family member I would be pissed off but then again the roles can be turned in the blink of an eye, the streets are rough for that type of lifestyle..
If you commit a crime you pay with the law of man, he paid his crime and other ones he never got cought. It works both ways in life. Example: If you do one burglary and get caught, detectives will clean house with the other 50 burglaries in that area. So many are doing time for crimes they didn't commit. This man can change lives.
they were both in the streets
Exactly..can’t be mad if they were both in the streets..you play you pay…
Homie should of kept it G tho and went all the way why go to jail after taking someone life then now you wanna switch up should ride till the wheels fall off or don’t play at all
great to see the homie made it home.
Why is it great? He killed someone tried to kill someone else and if you watch the documentary he actually describes another crime, in other words it wasn’t his first murder
I’m glad these kids got a second chance at life never forget the victims but kids shouldn’t be thrown away
Juan Gamez 🏆 stay up brother 💪🏼
Are you guys getting Antonio on here?

Juan, an immigrant from El Salvador, has a better vocabulary than a lot of Americans.
Is these dude living in us or and El Salvador 🇸🇻???
Watched the movie and the part when he was telling Abby how he really feels made me cry. It was so real and so sweet.
Where’s Abby now?
1:18:02 The fact that homie (in the shorts) knows his s***, makes it an even better interview. 💯
Sickkkkk
Glad to see him and Jared free 🙏🙏🌏🇮🇱🔥🙌
Where’s his email?
I got jumped in my neighborhood (Varrio) at the age of 13 back in 1996. And I was actually claiming the hood two years prior but the homies would not jump me in bcus I was "too young". So I guess 13 was the "your ready for this" age 🤷🏼♂️. Although I was the youngest one from my hood at that time. I definitely don't think that its uncommon to start at that age. Especially out here in Southern Cali 🔵 Los Angeles
U want a cookie or some ? Got lil homies getting put on at 10 and up

Got my put on 2011, 15 yrs old freshmen year of HS. Shit was cracking with the chinos we had Asian Boyz gang in my city we were deep and they were deep bunch of 14-18 yr olds getting it cracking every other day outta school 👊🏾💯

1:17:01 and this is why I respect homie. Because you can do good and better you self on a GP yard. That is commendable 💯. You don't have to drop-out and go PC (SNY yard) to change your life, that is just a BS excuse that lames use. Stay ACTIVE homies 🔵 SOUTH S1D3
💯
What’s up with the other dude from the show when u guys gonna have him on

I’m glad he’s out I wonder if he ever got with that girl he called in the documentary
I been in love with this man since high school , I am so proud of the person he has become and his story is amazing.
I got his snap you want it??
You got his number ? 👀 asking for a friend 😇
Hes married I was there when he got married. Lol
Welcome home
Is that Jared homie from the Monster documentary???
Yup
How long did you do in jail
Damn he’s out too 😮
From what documentary is this from
They Call Us Monsters
Oh I am in tears right now! I am on the way late freight and only saw this documentary the other day, and to see him AND Jared out! Gives me some hope. Did he go and get "the girl"?? and he is back in the US. Oh God is certainly good, because you boys were NEVER monsters! You, like myself, were victims of our environment, our parents having to work and not being able to supervise us the way we needed, etc. I was in prison by the time I was twenty, I am a violent offender as well. After my last violation, during 9/11 , that was it for me it wasn't a game anymore, my kids were in danger (potentially at the time it seemed like in that cell, we didn't know wtf was happening) and I got out and changed EVERYTHING. Because we grow up, and I am so grateful you made it baby boys!!! You are beautiful souls, don't you ever forget that, our past doesn't define us, it shapes us into the people we are today and you are stronger than most, you will do well in whatever venture you set your mind to, you can acheive ANYTHING!
Firme lil homie
What hood did he used to be from ?
What about antonio
Audio is too low. Not gonna waste my time watching this
