Valdor is by far one of the most deadliest warrior that the Emperor has ever created for he was a valuable individual within the Emperor inner circle, and frankly he is no doubt continuing his master grand work in the Grim Darkness of the Far Future, but we remember his honorable duty in his protection of the Emperor and counter-weight of the Primarchs he is an exemplar of the duty we as mankind can be inspired by.

There is no honor in betraying and murdering your own Allies, even if you're "just following orders". Valdor also would likely still lose to most Primarchs due to the sheer power difference, even if he's far more skilled.

I can almost imagine how scene of the emperor gathering his custodians, two present primarchs and every guardsmen he could find ready to teleport them into Horus' flagship. I can imagine how tense the atmosphere must have been. They were ready to fight to the end each of them fully aware that this galactic armageddon war is about to end and they are the chosen ones the ones available now for the task at hand. I'm sure it must have felt like fulfilling destiny to them. Especially some random human soldier realising the weight of the moment....wow...epicness on a while whole new level. I think of Valdor as that guy who is a chosen-one-to-defeat -the-dark-lord kind of guy like Turin son of Hurin combined with the martial prowess of Feanor both characters in Tolkien's Silmarillion. I feel like the Custodes are the Emperor's equivalent of "dad gets the big piece of chicken." Like yeah, all the kids got their own legion....but dad got the special one, with its own special primarch.
Yet while being the pinnacle of the Custodies, on the other hand, yet had a dark side no less villainous than the primarchs he held in such contempt. He had no problem slaughtering the Thunder Warriors the moment they were no longer useful. Then clearly he had ZERO problem with Horus' order to exterminate - rather than capture - Magnus and the Thousand Sons. And note, it was Horus that gave the order, which is interesting because Valdor did not question it for even a moment, despite supposedly trusting orders only uttered from the lips of the Master of Mankind himself! And then there was that little incident involving assassins given an order by him (without Emperor's order or approval) to assassinate Horus. And then there's that little matter that Eisenhorn is investigating.......where Valdor's name got brought up. As a heretic and threat to the Imperium. he's not Konrad levels of wtf......but seems like he's yet another Emperor creation gone off the rails......but a lot better at hiding it than most....
I dislike the Custodes because they always seem to be team killing, but it's impossible not to respect Valdor. Your channel is excellent, and your narration is great! Awesome stuff.

Nemesis started slow, but got sooooo good. Especially when the Head of the Officio Assassinorum, was revealed by YOU KNOW WHO!! Honestly in the HH it was the first time coming across him in any substantive way and was still kind of Meh about the Custodes. But NOW in The First Heretic, the 10th sacrifice, was SUPER jacked up, and the Custodes assigned to watch the Word Bearers I desperately want to see get some revenge.
I’m such a Valdor simp. I can just imagine massaging those muscles for him after another long day of him standing there looking all stoic. He’d be good in a fight too. He was the Emperor’s finest creation in my opinion, but what do I know?
Constantine Valdor exposes by contrast all the errors in Primarch and Astartes engineering. He and the Custodes are a product of meticulous planning and PATIENCE. Much of WHT is wrong about the Imperium of Man before, during, and after the Unification Wars, Great Crusade, and Horus Heresy can be boiled down to reckless haste and hubris. Hell, reckless haste and hubris tends to be what comes back to bite people in the ass IRL. Nice parallel.

I have just build the fiddliest of Valdor forgeworld models. And it is glorious! He has been primed in chaos black and I was just waiting for him to dry when this video popped on my stream! Valdor is as badass of a warrior the Imperium has ever seen. He was a legend even before the dawn of the Imperium. Mowing down techno-barbarians as if they were nothing to him. Concluding with the total destruction of the ultra-tetchy Thunder Warriors. And he did it as coldly as could be done. Why? Because his Emperor insisted he did. The day he emmerges again, is indeed the day those so called 'Gods' of the sea of souls will be regularly changing their underpants 👊 Ohhhh edit....Thank you sir for this video on the Captain General of Badass!
I've always wanted to see what the custodes looked like in the unification wars. Power armour was very basic, they would have had similar basic armour no where near that of what they wore in the great crusade.
Such 'Demi-Gods of War' just got their shit punched in by a bug while protecting Lord Leon nobody, who had a job that anyone of them could theoretically do 1000x better. GW has to get some kind of standard scale as to what is what, because the Emperors Most Awesome did worse than Dante vs Demon Primarch Angron trying to save the life of a base line scrub with 1/1000ths of the available tech the Custodes have available to utilize. They are turning them into a force that is less than inexperienced Primaris Lamenters...who are inexperienced and unlucky.
All we know is the Emperor gambled the outcome. Of the early unification wars on acquiring him as a child. He put ever resource he had to find him so he is very, very important to risk everything to get Valdor.
My own personal head canon is that Valdor was one of the two lost Primarchs and when they were scattered, he was launched back in time to pre-Unification Terra thanks to warp shenanigans. The pre-unification Emperor would have psychically sensed him, explaining why he moved whole armies to collect him.
Did my guy Ushatan dirty....primarch of thunder warriors. He told valdor at least he lived as a MAN before he dies. Basically his junk worked and he was just a man juiced to the gills but a man. Not a freak like valdor.
