It’s actually a really good summary of everything. And Barry also made a video explaining KH3 too. Also just a pancake videos are dope too. So if any patrons want to, use your money for a good cause.

I personally dont agree with that. The video is fun, but if you're new to Kingdom Hearts, this is definitely not a good first experience. He overexagerrates and is sometimes just wrong for a lot of important plot points for the point of jokes. There's nothing wrong with that. There are just better timelines that take the story seriously enough to be accurate.
*Kingdom Hearts:* Three kids go on a world-hopping adventure, but one of them is caught in with the wrong crowd and suffers for it.
*Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories:* Boy slips into madness and obsession.
*Kingdom Hearts 2:* Mysterious cult is made a big deal, but we barely learn a thing about them because of all the fluff.
*Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days:* The daily grind story that ends in heartbreak(?).
*Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep:* Three sheltered samurai are used by an old renegade and a mean demon.
*Kingdom Hearts: re:coded:* Lots of digital adventures lead up to a reminder that people are hurting.
*Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance:* An exam in dream land gets sabotaged by an evil group.
*Kingdom Hearts Cross:* Silly teacher dupes his six pupils into starting a war.
*Kingdom Hearts: 0.2 Birth by Sleep:* Mickey lost his -friend again- shirt.
*Kingdom Hearts Union Cross:* Five of the survivors from Cross's war deal with Wreck-It Ralph mysteries.
*Kingdom Hearts 3:* Tie up all the loose ends with old renegade, but now the boy has to go to video game land.
*Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory:* Girl plays rhythm game to unlock her traumatizing repressed memories.

Basically, Xion's face changes depending on who sees her, she mostly resembles Kairi because those are the most familiar memories Sora has at the time he was asleep.
I love how Barry basically does with Goofy and Donald, as DWK does with the Mane 6. Just giving them hilarious nicknames.

It would be cool to see RarityDash to react to PBG Hardcore Series (since that has Barry). Pretty enjoyable series.
The boat's just a metaphor for transforming into something big.
Basically, if an _"anime fight"_ is NOT against a _bishonen humanoid_ of similar size than the hero/prota; then it is just a _"Disk 1 Final Boss"_ [merely a "checkpoint" for the REAL DEAL that should come later].
-> An easy example would be Vegeta at the begining of DBZ (it transforms into a giant monkey for his "final form"); while the TRUE BOSS Freezer´s "final form" looks like a sleek teenager (compared to Goku´s young adult hero body).
KH1 Ansem was LITERALLY attached to a huge boat though.
KH2 Xemnas was kinda-sorta on a boat. More of an airship to be honest.

They don't turn into boats. XD There's one part where the heartless known as Ansem becomes fused to a massive heartless spaceship type thing.

okay, so. i will explain the whole sora/roxas/vanitas/ventus thing. its pretty simple to understand but insanely difficult to explain. the kingdom hearts pain train is my favourite series, and also my least favourite series. i dont know why tetsuya nomura had to make the story so confusing.
at the beginning of birth by sleep, ventus is shirtless and also in his heart for some reason, and a mysterious voice is talking to him, the voice is sora. ventus just got his darkness removed and sora decided to lend a bit of his heart(i think) to ventus so his heart becomes whole again. (this is also why sora can use two keyblades at once in kingdom hearts 2). and since sora did that, that is why vanitas looks like sora, and why roxas looks like ventus. and as for xion/kairi/namine, barry pretty much summarised it perfectly.
on a side note, only Ansem(heartless Xehanort) turns into a boat. Xemnas turns into a dragon, kinda. but not really. i mean technically that dragon isn't a part of him and it's just like a machine or something. its not really explained what those phases of the boss are to xemnas, other than they look cool for a final boss.
and here's a fun fact. if you rearrange the letters in Xemnas, you get mansex.

Xion story was the most sad story I ever experienced when I play the games in my opinion
Yeah, Xion's story was really sad, although I would extend that to Axel and Roxas as well. It just felt so incredibly unfair.

Those aren't spoilers. Here's the stories of the Seasalt Trio just from before Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance.
Roxas is born, constantly told he has no heart and that he cannot feel emotions, is forced to work for someone, and later has to kill one of his friends.
Lea and Isa are friends for a long time, but then they become Nobodies and drift apart. Saix is bossy to Axel. Axel makes friends with Roxas and later Xion, and then Xion dies and Roxas loses his memories. Axel tries to reach through to Roxas, who doesn't remember him and asks him who he is. Not long after, Axel is forced to attack his best friend.
Xion is a replica who runs away a few times because she's sapping Roxas' strength and feels bad, then is forced to attack him because if she dies then Roxas will get to look after Sora's memories until Sora can be fixed again.
Axel's backstory is way more tragic than Xion's.
Yes, a few things are skewed by the fact Axel is my favorite character, but I did my best to keep this bias-free.
Xion appears *only* in Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days and Kingdom Hearts 3 at the time of me posting this.
Axel appears in Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 2, 358/2 Days, Dream Drop Distance, and Kingdom Hearts 3.
Roxas appears in Kingdom Hearts 2, 358/2 Days, and Kingdom Hearts 3.
Xion has the least appearances, and thus the least time to get her personality fleshed out.
Roxas is the most consistently-seen character in Days since he is the Player Character in place of Sora. Even though he appears in less games than Axel, he is seen more often in the games he's shown in.
It's extremely likely Axel has the most screen-time since he is in most of the cutscenes showing an Organization Member in CoM, he appears multiple times during the 'tutorial' of KH2, where you play as Roxas and then later near the end of the game, not including stray cutscenes that might be scattered about, he appears at the end of DDD, and is just poured all over the main plot of Kingdom Hearts 3. He appears a *lot* in that game.
Since Axel has so much more screen time than Xion and Roxas, it stands to reason that he is the most fleshed out and likable, and even the script-writers acknowledge how loved he is because there is a cutscene where he says that he can't be killed because of how many people there are rooting for him.
Also, you said Aqua *OR* Xion as if you can like only one.
I do not think Xion is a bad character, and her appearance in Kingdom Hearts 3 made me like her more.
I also really like Aqua. She is a protagonist and thus has an *extremely* well fleshed-out character arc and story, even more so than Axel, who I previously mentioned. Her actions are logical for how she has acted before, and there are few things about her I dislike.
The way you phrased your comment makes it seem like appreciating these characters are exclusively separate. As if there is no 'I like both Aqua and Xion'.
Think more carefully about how you phrase things in the future.

If you are a 5 year old child with a TH-cam account, then this is a serious mistake on your parents' behalf. If they review your comments before letting you post, they should correct your grammar and spelling. If they do not review them, then they are simply making poor decisions. You could post something that got you into huge trouble and they wouldn't know.

A miracle let's play helped me a lot. It's a married couple who play on the husband's channel. They just finished the big finale of Kingdom Hearts 3 with the climax and stuff, and as they go along they clarify the gibberish and summarize the games that aren't in the Final Mix bundle thingamajig they got. It's great.
I just had to spend a few nights with barely any sleep thinking about it to get it straight.
Weirdly, Birth by Sleep helped untangle a lot of the aneurysms that KH2 caused me.
17:14 Fun fact: while this video implies Goofy comes back at the very end, in the actual game he came back in LITERALLY THE SCENE RIGHT AFTER HE DIED. YEAH. THE FAKEOUT DEATH WAS *THAT* BAD.
Kh1, the main villain ansem turned into a giant boat. Sora had to take it apart piece by piece,
Kh2, the main villain, Xemnas, turned into a giant space boat, Sora and Riku took it apart piece by piece.
Kh3, master Xehanort gets turned into a portal, and he takes the final stage, Scalia ad caelum, apart piece by piece,
2:10 funny you say that , apparently back when Nomura made the first kingdom hearts he didnt plan on Nobodys, so he gave Heartless for the name of whats essentially "Kingdom Hearts 1 Grunt enemies"(I mean in a game called KINGDOM HEARTS , HeartLESS sounds like a villain plot anyway). When he eventually realized he *could* have a psuedo-explanation he just didnt want to change the name so fuck it i guess theyre reversed (i may be wrong but like its worth noting pretty much the ENTIRETY of KH 1 theres no mention of Nobodies/Husks just shadow slithering tentacle thingies (Heartless), Nobodies just kinda "appear" and become reoccurring with KH2 and Roxas and ORG 13 and all that jazz sooooo)

One detail with no relevance to the plot but is well known and dumb enough to joke about: take out the x in Xehanort and the remaining letters spell "No Heart."
All of the Organization names are actually the real peoples names rearranged but with an added X. Such as, Axel-Lea Roxas-Sora and so on

Thank you for making this reaction!! I love this summary, even though I've never played any of the kingdom hearts games. The plot is so fan-fiction-level insane though, it's immensely enjoyable. At least I know some things about kingdom hearts now!

Riku turns into ansem when he use the dark
One thing I thought was really funny in the first Kingdom Hearts game: when Riku mentioned that he was possessed by Ansem/Xehenort, that was literally the first time he was referenced to in the entire game. There is no build up to it at all. You just think that Maleficent and Riku are doing this on their own the whole game. The villain is not mentioned until the very end of the next to last dungeon.

One thing ill say about kingdom hearts 3 is they actually did a better effort into why they when to the different disney worlds (Their was always actually reasons but their a bit more clear in 3)
Olympus: Sora seeking to regain power
Toybox: Testing copied worlds (Plus the whole Yozora forshadowing)
Monstropolis: Vanitas used the factory to regain his power
Corona: New princess of light
Arrendel: New princess of light (That world wasn't very well mapped but if you watch a certain game theory episode you can find a good alternative)
Carribean: They were searching for the box
San Fransokyo: They were testing to see if they could recreate a heart from data alone
I love Kingdom Hearts, but maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan... that's a LOT of story.
The worst part of all of this is that, the whole "x," thing is so DEEPLY ingrained into the lore and plot, because it all ties back to the pun of "X/Key Blade." BUT THATS NOT HOW THAT GREEK LETTER IS PRONOUNCED. SO THE PUN DOESNT ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE.
Maybe Kairi will find a personality in her next life...
Well, no. A heatless is the darkness of said heart of the person split from the body, leaving a Nobody, a being with memories of having a heart, but unable to use those emotions as well as a normal person.
It makes sense in a way.
So I have to say, the plot of KH sounds like an actual clusterfuck when it’s told and not actually experienced.
Yeah, so like he said the Disney worlds are for the most part pretty useless. They are pretty relevant in the first game, but other than that the most you’ll get is maybe a main character showing up briefly or character development
I think the closest anyones ever gotten to full summary of kingdom hearts as a whole is kingdom hearts 101 by PCP and that video is 3 hours long
"It's a lot to keep up with", well I mean it's like what, 10 games or something?
It would almost be dissapointing if they made that many games without advancing the story each time xD
But yeah, the video- while not everything was exact- like the title suggests,
it's 100% good enough, especially if you haven't played it and considering the creator didn't play a lot.
That being said, if you ever get the chance to, you should most definitly try it for yourself.
The story of a single game is obviously easier to understand
and most of the whole "complicated" storyline is better understood when you as the player actually want to know how it continues,
what led up to it or who certain characters are.

At least you enjoy and yeah is confusing but the only way to understand the story is ether playing and people help you out in the comments depending if you want to make a Let's Play series or maybe watch in movie format, which could be a great reaction series one day

Even if it be interesting to see you play Kingdom Hearts. I'd actually encourage you not to play it. If you don't have the patients and the willingness to try and handle the plot of just one game. (That's not KH 1, cause that's actually that most simple one in the series if you can believe it.) Then you'll gonna feel like you failed your finals and Mickey is here.

This right here is a perfect example on how people who don’t know much about Kingdom Hearts really make it look bad. Just says everything with a sarcastic tone, and act like things that do make sense are the most confusing thing ever. Everything is explained, but I’m sure the guy who made that video wasn’t interested in actually trying to accurately summarize the series.
