I think you could increase your yield by separating your gold foils from your waste, prior to dissolving the gold. By dissolving the gold with aqua regia, while it is still in the same container as your circuit boards, etc, you are saturating your waste w/ chloroauric acid, and thereby losing gold. If you first dissolve the base metals in an acid-peroxide solution, such as hydrochloric acid and hydrogen peroxide, or with nitric acid alone, and then filter out the gold foils, and then dissolve the foils, you can reduce loss, that way. Granted, this will take more time - but it should increase your yield
