I'm trying to collect them all currently. Shining is comes today along with my RG Burning Gundam. I definitely wanna paint it now 😆.

It is interesting to see retro Gunpla kits like this 1994 released 1/144 No Grade GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam.
Anyway, the title of this is a little misleading since there's no RG GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam yet. But for the time being, this is a close enough representation; at least enough to give us an idea of how much Gunpla has changed over the years.
What I would've done is also included the HGFC GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam to give a better comparison.
The HGUC AMS-123X-X Moon Gundam is one of those rare exceptions where Bandai puts a lot more effort into making a kit. So what I'm saying is that it's not really the norm for an HG to be as good.
9:23 This part really shows how much HG Gunpla kits have improved over the years. As time goes on, we see kits requiring fewer color correcting stickers and instead coming molded in the correct color.
9:41 I wouldn't say this is exactly like an Entry Grade; especially if we're just talking about part separation and color accurately molded parts. Entry Grade kits (for the most part) come with more color accurate molded parts. But I do understand the point you were making here.
10:02 I personally wouldn't say this would be a good choice for those that want to practice painting. In fact because of its age and heavy sticker use, it might discourage people; especially new comers to the hobby. I would suggest something like an SDEX, SDCS, Entry Grade, or an HG released in 2010 and newer for newcomers to the hobby and for those that want to practicing painting, customizing, etc.
Anyway, this was fun. Thank you.
I look forward to Bandai making an RG GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam. Hopefully soon.
I also presume we'll get the Hyper Mode variants for RG GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam and RG GF13-017NJII God Gundam; of course as P-Bandai releases.

The god gundam isn’t actually taller than the shining gundam what happens is that Bandai post revive hg era started cheating with the scales in 1/144 since the post f91 and pre turn a mobile suits are canonically smaller, the old kits from those shows show the accurate 1/144 size

That's my old toy, ah nostalgic I collected these no grade G-Gundams. Sad the shoulderguards won't open hah.
I'd recommend buying a Devil Gundam and it's a Big kit and has transforming gimmicks, but still very basic. 😁😁

Lol if by 'just like' you mean beard and hair length are similar, sure.
