Saw this little ole band from Texas in 1979at the Lakeland Civic Center during their Deguello tour, and they put on the most memorable show I have ever seen, always be one of my all time favorite bands.
Believe it or not but back in the late 60's, we would see ZZ Top for 50 cents. Bring your own rug or pillow to sit on. Very small joint. Probably the beginning of my hearing loss.
As a guy that’s played the drums since I was 13, Frank Beard isn’t a flashy technical drummer. But he is one of those “metronomes” - very solid player with great timing.

Saw Billy in Orlando 2 years ago with his own Band …… great show …… no bass player and they pulled it off… What a great technical age we live in or we can make anything sound like a base
I have tickets for this tour! So sad I won’t get to say I’ve seen Dusty live but so delighted that I’ll get to hear these guys live! Not to mention Cheap Trick is with them
Billy sounds like he is playing better than he has in years. He went through a spat there where his playing was super rough. Thought maybe he was having some issues with his hands, but maybe it was just he had gotten into a habit of not playing a lot outside of touring.
On the second ZZ album, it was "Rube" Beard instead of Frank Beard. Now it's Senor Beard. Make up your damn mind, brother. Love ya bro, just joking out of San Antonio, Texas. You know us.
This sounds and looks like the guy (guy = bass player, Elwood Francis) that even Dusty might have picked for Billy and Frank to carry on, with! Great neo-old time beat and music! Miss Dusty, but life goes on.....with or without my opinion of it......
