I bought the Miyoo Mini Plus this past November, a few weeks before the big sales. I managed to get mine for only $63 on Amazon, and for the most part, it seems like various retailers are selling the Mini Plus at lower prices than before. Overall, I’m glad that I chose the Mini Plus as my first retro handheld. After installing OnionOS and putting my own roms on a fresh micro SD card, I was on cloud nine. I mostly play NES, SNES, Genesis, Turbo Grafx 16, and PS1 games on my device, and my experience with each of those platforms has been ideal for me. I even beat my personal best on Donkey Kong 3 today, and I’ve been delving into Soul Blade quite a bit. And as someone with big hands, I’m impressed that even as small as the Miyoo Mini Plus is, it doesn’t feel uncomfortable.
No problem! it is something I do all the time because there have been so many times in my personal life where I think "damn, that looks fun/cool what is the name of that game", then hopelessly scroll through the comments looking for someone to name it for you haha.
I think the reason you think the miyoo screen is sharper is because garlic OS has bilinear filtering on GBA games by default and that makes it look more blurry on the Ambernic. Just a thought. My 35XX screen defiantly does not look how yours did. Great comparison
Interesting input thank you, I had not considered that and will be taking a look at the new models, as well as the anbernic H variant and will ensure that the comparison is apples to apples. Thanks for the kind words and thanks again for the insight :)
Great content! Great video! I appreciate the side by side comparison of the onion and garlic operating systems. Seeing the distinctions and your insight can guide those watching to choose the option preferred though informed.
Although I loved the smaller from factor of the Miyoo, the main deciding factor for me was that Anbernic has HDMI output while Miyoo does not which means Anbernic is more versatile for multiplayer game play!
Sucks you got this out right before the release of the rg35xx plus, I’d love to see that comparison, I have a miyoo mini plus but I have a cramped feeling when playing for a bit. Ordered the plus in hopes it helps, also want mow powa
Thanks for the video! Surprised you would stick to the miyoo mini 3 after all the highlights you mentioned for the RG35XX. Do you know if Onion OS can be loaded on the RG35XX or is that strictly for Miyoo?
It is strictly for miyoo unfortunately. You do have garlic os for the Anbernic. It's such a strange thing because really, the Anbernic is the better device. Technically speaking. But I just love the onionos and do personally believe it is much more polished than garlic os. There does seem to be some sort of cult following with the miyoo device even though it is the inferior device.
I own all 3 (miyoo mini v4 (had a v2 at one point but i dropped it and the screen got messed up and i got mad and destroyed it completely because F reddit that worthless website) , RG 35XX and the Mini plus. The RG35XX is the more durable of the 3, the mini plus gets hot and the screen starts to fall out and god help you if you drop the regular mini. Cant wait to get the RG35XX plus.
Have the plus on order. I still love onionos over garlicos, but the power increase for dreamcast, NDS and psp? Damn man.. it's going to be a force to reckon with
I want a console for an eight years old kid that wants to play pokemon (nds, gba,gb), mario, gran turismo(ps1), donkey kong ...this kind of games. I have read and have seen a lot of tutorials about this two consoles, all the people said that the anbernic rgxxplus have better conditions to be the best one of this two. However, you said if in your miyoo mini+ you change the system they increase a lot his pontential, you talk about onionOS. Can you explain me what onion OS contribute on your decision. I'm from spain, there is a system called "koriki "created by the community that it is excel·lent, the majority of the youtubers said this. The price of this two consoles is very similar, Can you give me your point of view. And why you rather prefer miyoo mini+ than anbernic rgxx35+. Thank you so much.
I do have the rg35+ in hand now. Although I'll be honest I haven't had time to set it up and play with it. However, to my knowledge, there is a custom OS for the new version as well incorporating a lot of the nice stuff from Onion.os A lot of my gripes with the anbernic non plus was the lack of wifi. It is huge for people who want retro achievements OTA updates and more. However, with the plus, you get that as well as the better chip and hdmi. For a younger person I would say get whichever is cheaper unless they would benefit from the larger shell of the anbernic.
I got a miyoo mini plus upgraded it to onion 4.2.3 now want recognise any games at all, pressing up in some games dpad didn't work well, but navigating menus no problems games I tried pacman and punchout various systems, onion doesn't recognise any games 😢
Honestly, each have their holding styles. The Anbernic I find I can rest my ring and little fingers on the bottom whereas with the miyoo I can only rest my little fingers. Both are comfortable in their own way and uncomfortable in others. I do find the raised triggers on the miyoo are more preferred and play into the ergonomics ever so slightly. I don't think either device will ever be comfortable to hold for adult sized hands, for long periods of time. I do find with both I am shifting my fingers around every so often to stretch them out and prevent the odd cramp. It is just a general down side to these small devices.
Whats the point of buying anbernic if they keep on changing hardware every 6 months. It should be the one and only classic retro handneld not unlimitted iterations.
Have a Miyoo Mini and Mini plus, I just ordered the RG35XX last week coincidentally, this video was made just for me 😂 Definitely upgrading the stock software for Onion or Garlic is essential. I do believe the Anbernic doesn't have a sleep mode with its stock software, installing Garlic enables basic features like that.
I had both… I retired the Anbernic. It’s as you said. On paper Anbernic is better but I the hand Miyoo mini plus is just special.
Right, I have the Anbernic 35xx plus on order.. but I still don't know if I'll prefer it over the miyoo. OnionOS is just that much better IMO
my ambernic didn't even last a month worst build quality ever get the miyoo

looking forward to the review of the new rg35xx plus, cant wait to see how it handles psp emulation
I'm going to have to get it now, I'm very curious as well!
The dpad on the Miyoo mini plus is really good. That alone makes it worth it for me.
I also just got the RG35XX, going to be putting it through its paces this week.

@@WinDeckTech awesome! I’m awaiting mine as well. Hope to see a video on it in the future!

Which dpad is more hadoukanable and shoryukanable?
I love my miyoo...but it's a b**ch to grip. Too small. My hands are super sored after 30 minutes of play time. 😢
That is not so good at times with a lot of these devices honestly.
Lil late with this one, 35xx plus looks to blow the miyoo mini plus out the water
Yup haha, I have the plus on order. Looks to be a real beast
@@WinDeckTech fr fr, looking forward to your thoughts on it

Hey!!!
Is the 35xx much more comfortable for hands than miyoo?

To buy more!
I'm planning to get the miyoo mini plus, is 128gb way too much and just get 64gb memory or just get the 128gb?
Depends on what you think you'll be playing it for.
I would say for me, 64 GB would be more than enough for a handheld emulator
Just make sure to install drastic so u can play DS games.
Hey!!!
Is the 35xx much more comfortable for hands?
If you have bigger hands, I would say yes!
Can you swap the SD cards from older to you with no problems please I’m trying to figure this out because I need to buy a loaded SD card
You might be able to as long as it's a like for like device. If it's garlic os or onion os make sure the device is compatible
@@WinDeckTech thank you

Yup!
The Anbernic os is serviceable at best. But like you said onion/garlic is a must on these. In my opinion
Time to make a new video, lol
35XX plus has shipped haha
Which is beater? Simple qs
I would say the miyoo for ease of use the Anbernic for more power
"merio kart"
*Uses video for AI generation*
I see this as an absolute win
Bro talk slower ....you talk like your swallowing
That's a thing?
