Yo, wheres your shroud at? Air cant blow (from the fan) threw your radiator very well like that. Pull the bottom hose or open the petcock and see what comes out. Im guessing plugged up radiator and a bad water pump?

A while ago I was having overheating issues with my 1996 Lincoln Town Car. I flushed the cooling system, changed the thermostat, and checked the fan clutch, it still was overheating but the one thing I overlooked was the water pump. I pulled the water pump and discovered the impellers had disintegrated.

It is a crossflow radiator, so the the water is always going to be hotter up the top on the side of the top hose and it cools down as it moves across and down through through the radiator. The bottom hose should be substantially cooler, because the radiator has performed its task.

Is the lower hose hotter than the upper hose?

What happened. Did replacing the radiator fix the overheating issue?
