My God the Westfalia Edition Craftsman Tool Box. That caused customers to back up out the door at Sears back in the day absolutely!

I remember as a kid going to Sears and looking at all the Craftsman tools, great memories.

Me too, those were the days. Craftsman was always coming out with new tool ideas. Some were gimmicky and others I just absolutely fell in love with.

🤣, okay, I love this comment! Imagine a tool box with a pop-up top where you could take a nap, yes please! 👍

Appreciate the tour! It's never about the names on the tools, but the name using the tools. My father was in manufacturing his whole life and never needed name brand tools for everything.

Ha... I am glad I am not the only one with an overflowing screwdriver drawer. The struggle is real.

It's good to have such a weird assortment of tools. Me too. Mine, Dad's, grandpa's, other grandpa's, unidentifiable origin stuff, you name it. Grandpa was a blacksmith, welder, machinist, and farmer. He had lots of strange toys, but they're special to me. I even have Model T and A special toys. I suspect I'll be the last guy to know what many of them are for.

That's very true. Our old caterpillar tools that will also someday be lost to history. Some of my favorite tools are the same ones grandfather used. 😀

Great tour! I have an old pair of wire crimpers and calipers that were my grandfathers. They’re engraved “USAAF”. No doubt he got them at the army surplus store after WWII. No way that tight sucker would have ever sprung for that quality of a tool new. 😆

@@lifeafterourloss funny thing was, fabricating and mechanical stuff wasn’t his thing. Woodworking was his wheelhouse. Oh well.

Thanks for the tour, I always enjoy seeing what tools others have. My pops was big on S&K tools and General boxes so when he passed I took them over. Even though I've always liked the craftsman , I have to admit I've never had an S&K fail no matter how badly I abused them.

I agree! For the money the SK Tools are very underrated and often overlooked. Coincidentally, yesterday I went to the local tractor parts store where they used to carry SK Tools. I needed another wrench in a size we only have one of. Unfortunately they quit carrying SK a couple months ago. The toolbox we keep our impact Tools in is a general. 👍

Thank you Tom! 😀 I really hope all is well and the movie Safe. I've thought about leaving Colorado for Wyoming number one but our family roots are so deep here. Plus now I have too much junk to move, 🤣. We are way further along actually than the ESP short video. We've been working on the project day after day trying to get it done in time for the show so I have video stacked up for months. We're not there yet but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Safe travels, 🙏.

Lufkin tools, started in Cleveland Ohio than moved to Saginaw Michigan. I live between Flint and Saginaw and am always on the lookout for Lufkin tools and own a set of Lufkin mics 6 piece set 0 to 6” that I still use carefully! I love them and they are certified and up to date. Love the channel and content Aaron.✌️✌️✌️

We have always appreciated the durability, quality and longevity of Lufkin tools. I'm always on the lookout for them. In the future I plan to do a video how about the tools we use to cut grade and set elevations for foundations. We used some Lufkin devices for that as well. Thank you for the kind words and we are glad you're here with us. 😀 ✌️✌️✌️

Some of the old made in USA tools are true gold. I have a few made in USA tools that came with a Studebaker US 6. However it's a very incomplete set. You can get lot of shiny chrome tools today but lot of them are not as durable as the old ones. I have not even half of what you got in the shop. But I like to keep one toolset per machine. So I dont have to constantly run looking for on.

    • @lifeafterourloss
      @lifeafterourloss  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Those Studebaker tools are probably worth golden themselves! When we were in business every heavy truck and pickup truck carried enough tools to fix a quick hydraulic leak at the bare minimum. 👍

That sounds like some good ideas for future videos. I think when the project is done we're going to recap all the specialty tools we used for the D4. 👍

I could probably do some more in the future. I definitely have a weird mix of videos. Where else can you find a Volkswagen caterpillar crossover short video. 🤣🤣
