    I own this guitar in the red finish. It's amazing!

    Love the finish. Love the tones. Honestly surprised by the split-single, not gonna lie. I'm sold

      Yeah the finish is killer and I'll be honest... I was too... I didn't think the split single in the bridge would be that good but it sounded pretty nice! I would've liked a tone control to take some of the top end off... but you can't have it all haha!

    Like other people have said, the sound and look is awesome. I’m not really a fan of thin necks, so I might give it a miss, but awesome vid Leigh.

      @LeighFugeGuitar  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's quite a strange neck. On their website it's listed as "Extra Thin U"... but it doesn't feel the way that you'd imagine extra thin would feel. To me it feels quite wide. I have another LTD model, very similar, that I'm doing a video for soon and that feels totally different even though they're from the same series.
      This M-1 has a neck unlike anything I've played before. Visually, it looks thin, but it doesn't feel thin. I think it might be slightly wider in the hand.

      @@LeighFugeGuitar The Gretsch players edition I have says it has a u shaped neck, I bet it is nothing like that 😂.

      It actually feels just like a Fender Stratocaster C shape neck...not thin. I know ESP calls it Extra Thin U, but nothing thin about it. ESP has Les Paul style guitars with Thin U necks that feel like Gibson Les Paul necks.

    Not a fan of multi colored or crackle finishes but i have to say this guitar is an exception. It's really beautiful and sounds amazing. I'm a big fan of single pickup guitars but this one definitely needs a single coil rails neck pickup 🙂

    Love the NY Dolls shirt! How does this compare to the 80s-90s MIJ stuff like Kramer Focuses, Charvels, and some of the 2000s Jackson MIJ guitars? Does it feel like a quality instrument?

    • @LeighFugeGuitar
      @LeighFugeGuitar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Everyone needs a Dolls shirts! I just bought an 87 MiJ Charvel and I have 2 MiJ Kramers from 85 and 88 and they feel very different to the LTD.
      The LTD is such a great guitar, it really is a great guitar, and is a very high quality instrument but the 80s guitars have a certain magic feel.

      @@LeighFugeGuitar Yeah, I have an 84 Focus 1000 and recently sold an 86 Model 3, definitely some magic in them. My local GC had one of the LTD tele neck-throughs that I got to play the other day. It was super nice, but it definitely had a different feel than the MIJ stuff. There was also something a little weird about the fretboard radius...

    Does it work without battery if I don’t give a shit about the boost and not use it?

      I can’t say that I tried it without the battery but I don’t see why not… if you have a music store nearby that stocks LTD, they might know!

    My main disappointment with this guitar is the volume control. It basically goes from Silent to full blast at the 2-3 mark and stays at full volume all the way up from 3-10. This is very annoying because when I am playing a song and want to roll back the volume, I end up just cutting out the volume completely or staying at full blast, very difficult to find that Low Volume sweet spot. It took me months to figure out the problem, and ESP has the worst customer service as I had emailed them, messaged them on their website and on social media and they never responded. I finally figured out on my own research that they used a LINEAR TAPER volume pot. I am going to put in a AUDIO TAPER pot which will give a nice gradual volume control from 1-10.

      what is value of the pot in M1? 1 pot with 500K ? It seems too bright for me and I think the pot is the reason

    • @eazy-shredder
      @eazy-shredder 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, 500k. I agree it sounds bright, but I believe it is just from the Seymour Duncan Distortion humbucker. @@modus2000

      Yup, but the builder of the pedal named it with the German pronunciation. Thats how everyone that has one refers to it
