    Hi, Kimberly. You’re very courageous sharing your story and experiences. I’m sure that will reach and help many people.
    I was wondering if you’ve had any brain MRI studies or had your cortisol levels checked. You mentioned issues with prolactin, stress, weight gain, and your mental health. Sometimes, all of these can be caused by pituitary or adrenal tumors raising your cortisol levels and throwing off other hormones.
    I have Cushing’s Disease that was caused by a pituitary tumor. They thought for years that I just had treatment resistant depression and terrible anxiety. Then I started getting more anxious and paranoid because it caused me to stay in the fight or flight mode. I felt like I was losing my mind and my shrink was starting to think that perhaps I had some type of bipolar disorder. Nope, brain tumor! All of my doctors were shocked.
    Some Cushing’s patients get diagnosed because they’ve been hospitalized for psychosis. They find their cortisol levels are severely elevated and once they get them in the normal range they’re free of the psychosis and begin treating the cortisol disease.
    It’s considered a rare disease but in the rare disease community we say that diseases are only rare because they rarely test for them.
    I love your videos! Keep them coming!
    Be well! ♥️

      thank you! 💚 and yes I have had an MRI and bloodwork and all that, it is required before a schizophrenia diagnosis, they want to rule out everything else first (at least here in sweden)! and I also have at least one doctor examination every year 😊

    Nice video. Gives me hope for the future. Maybe there is a possibility that I won’t have to take medications in the future 🙏🏻 though it has helped me actually. I’m on abilify. At first I felt restless. But now I “just” have very high and low moodswings. But they shift rapidly so I don’t mind. Though it’s very scary when I get so apathic that I think the best way must be to end my life now…. Because I feel nothing so there is not much to experience. But I am working on putting words to my feelings and try to feel something and embrace my feelings as much as I can. Thank you for a nice video

    I was prescribed aripiprazole at first but it made me violently sick and gave a metallic taste to my food. I also tried lurasidone, but it made me aware of my tongue in my mouth which was so uncomfortable I had to go to A&E. I’m back on olanzapine and the hunger troubles me, but it’s better than trying to give away all my belongings when I’m manic. I take sertraline as well and weirdly I find that one eyelid droops on olanzapine without sertraline.

    • @wendylynn7014
      @wendylynn7014 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nickdangelo3266 what I’ve noticed, is that many doctors don’t know how to properly prescribe clozapine because they’re a little afraid of it. They won’t raise the dose to reach a therapeutic serum level. Your clozapine blood levels should be between 350-700 to see improvement, this does not correlate with dosage. Some people are rapid metabolizers, meaning they could be taking 600 mg, but have a blood serum of only 150. Demand to have your clozapine serum levels be drawn (it’s not the same thing as the weekly/monthly blood count). If your serum is below 350, your doctor should continue to increase by 25 mg a week until you get there. Like I mentioned, 350 is only beginning, many people need it much higher for optimum results. Clozapine is a fantastically effective medication when it’s prescribed properly.
      Also ask them to add, metformin, senna, and docusate sodium to manage constipation and weight gain, if they haven’t already.
