I was diagnosed with MS years ago, later diagnosis changed to Neuro Behcets. Modafinil has helped with cognition and fatigue, without the jittery feeling.

Great story... Eeriely similar to me…
I'm 41, decided to go back to do my masters at Sheffield Hallam..ive been out of education since 2004.. First two weeks I had a slight panic at the pace and level of info.. Trying modafanil as I had read all the doom and negative stories…
As you say it puts you in your best possible state of mental clarity and mood, like a day where you've had the best sleep, breakfast, life is good and you're fitbsnd healthy then you have a cup of tea and get the mental uplift for a day.
There are downsides, sometimes it doesn't work as well as previous times, and later in in the evening you don't get a desire to go to bed, but it doesn't inhibit your sleep

Well said Dom. Modafinil is a game changer with cognitive function/concentration for me. I do limit to a ‘take only when really need to’ basis, but it’s great stuff. And yes, as we’ve discussed, impossible to get prescriptions! Neuros seem to dismiss fatigue from conversation and work based solely on physical ability. Very frustrating

I was prescribed Modafinil for sleep disorder, but didn't help at all, it was like taking a sugar pill placebo. It may work for some, but it's definitely not the wonder drug it's made out to be, everyone's biochemistry is different. Turned out that sleeping about 6 hours wasn't enough, now I speed 8 hours and everything is fine. :)

I've been using Modafinil for a couple of years; it really is a game changer. I felt physically and mentally better from using it. Didn't have too difficult a time getting it from my GP once it was recommended by my MS nurse. Unfortunately, I have SPMS so my fatigue has worsened, currently taking 2 a day. My MS carers don't like me drinking coffee or tea.

When I had money, I was easily prescribed Modafinil for ADHD, as any other drug (scheduled) affected me adversely. I was forced to go on disability and instantly my new doctors refused to even discuss putting me on it, because even the generic is still more than Medicaid will pay. So, now I start projects all over my home, never finishing them. I sit and cry and feel worthless. This is no way to live. Even my volunteer work has stopped, as my racing thoughts don't slow down long enough for me to organize makeup, clothing, etc. Being on disability is tough enough without what little life I had being ripped away. It's really a terrible situation. I had been on a very low dosage for twelve years, so I certainly did not fit the profile of a drug seeker!

Great video I hope this helps people with MS. My Dr. (you know him well) always asks how I am doing, what things are difficult. I told him I no longer multitask well. I don't necessarily have cog fog but I do get distracted extremely easily. I can't listen to music while I work and my surrounding must be absolutely quiet. He said let's experiment and I tried a Provigil. I loved it! I could access my memory and my multitasking improved regardless of my surroundings. Felt like Bradly Cooper in Limitless. I am a bit funny about prescriptions I take them as little as possible. I kind of think the less I take them the more effect they will have when I do. Great video thank you for sharing

@@theMSguide Hey! sorry for typo, i did not mean to type "brov", just coffee :)
I am 28 years old and my brain is younger than yours. Maybe this has to do something with it. I have been experimenting with modafinil for the past 4 years and I do love it. For some time, my ideal dose was 1 cup of coffee with 50 mg of modafinil. However, it became difficult to balance that with proper sleep , and I felt sometimes I would be very productive on the day I took it at the expense on the next day productivity / brain power.
I have found that less is more when it comes to Modafinil. Especially if you already mix it with caffeine. Taking it as soon as I wake up helps tremendously to have good night rest. I read somewhere that half-life of Modafinil is around 12 hours. It will stay in your system and wont let your brain rest at night. Thats my advice from personal experience :)
Nowadays, I only use it once a week, sometimes less. However, I might go on a modafinil cycle for higher productivity and focus on the remaining months of 2023.

I take 400 mg to stay up for 24-28 hours in a go, then 2.5/3 hours of sleep, then all over again. Yes i found tea / coffee + modafinil a best combination. Although I do take short nap of 10-20 mins before taking another dose of modafinil ( when power of 1st wears off) around once in every 8/10 hours. And that short nap makes me feel energetic again. At last, it's not only about modafinil, it's about will power, modafinil it's just a wakening agent, but to plan it, and willing to take it. Ultimately body recovers, pain also relives, but the only thing which we carry forever is our achievements and legacy.

@TheOpticalFreak there is a half life for the Modafinil molecule so your rate of metabolic processing can’t change that.
In the UK a brand isn’t used as it is long out of patent protection. I know the most popular branded pull (exactly the same molecule) is ProVigil.
There is no SR preparation on the market here. I make a point of taking it on a full stomach which slows the release into the system.
It is my prop. It isn’t always perfect but I can sure tell if it don’t take it.
If your urine has an odour it could well be from all the inert binding and glazing agents in the pill and quite likely not the molecule.
Does the Patient Information Leaflet make any reference to this?

      @TheOpticalFreak 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

But there is this thing that some people can't taste a certain bitter compound or smell asparagus in there urine! It has to do with your DNA wish I find really fascinating! 😃
