ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY (2016) MOVIE REACTION - FIRST TIME WATCHING! WOW!

- Welcome to our first time watching Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016).
We were not expecting that ENDING !!
We had a great time watching this! A fast-paced action/war film in science-fiction setting, and it genuinely feels like a Star Wars film. Written by Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy and Directed by Gareth Edwards starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn.
We thought this is one of the best Star Wars films and were really impressed. The balance of fan service with good story feels right and is tasteful. And wow, that ending. Hope you enjoy our reactions, commentary and discussion as we watch it for the first time from two different generations. We both found it jaw dropping, great fun and exceptional filmmaking.

Hey All, Hope you enjoy this Reaction. We had a really entertaining time together. From one perspective as an Original Trilogy fan and the other being fresher, younger eyes to the franchise. As you can see, we enjoyed the big surprises in it!. In retrospect, we think it's culturally interesting to see these perspectives side by side. There is scope now to view the other Star Wars films. We picked up on a few Easter Eggs in there - but I bet we missed some! We have released this in time for Saturday - so May The 4th Be With You! Ps. There's an Star Wars related photo at the very last 5 seconds of the video, 100 points awarded if you can say where it was taken.
Can you go to the Star Trek franchise, there is about 53 years of TV series and movies to check out for reactions. Its easy to follow of the timeline from the 22nd century to the 25th century and a time jump series that goes to the 32nd century.
I've thought about this and not sure where to start tbh. The movies or the TV series... @@ShipsoftheOceans
@@GenerationMediaReaction well the first series is Star Trek: Enterprise at the start of the 22nd Century, Star Trek: Stranger New worlds, Star Trek: The Original Series and the first 6 movies with Star Trek: The Motion picture is the first movie that crew completed a 5 year mission and they are reunited after the Enterprise gets a full refit. Star Trek 2 The Wraith of Khan is a revenge movie that is linked to an episode of the Original Series. Star Trek 3 and 4 are a continuation from Star Trek 2. Star Trek 5: The final frontier is to do with meeting god. Star Trek 6 is an assassination story from making piece with the klingons are set in the 23rd Century. Star Trek 7: Generations finishes a story from the 23rd century moving to the 24th century where Star Trek: The next generation takes places. There are a few TV series set in the 24th Century. and 5 more movies. There is also 3 animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks is like a funny version and Star Trek Prodigy. Let me know where you think you would like to start. Its a totally different universe than Star Wars which I am watching this reaction right now and I like how you both hangout watching movies. So you could go with a revenge Star Trek 2 about super humans left stranded on a planet by the Enterprise exiled for crimes against humanity The Enterprise never bothered to go back and check up on them. So you could do movies Star Trek 5: Meeting god or is it? Star Trek 6 an assassination attempt by some one and fingers get pointed at the captain. Let me know what you think about choosing and I will advise if its a good place to start.
Need to bear a young person's age in mind... had wondered about the JJ Abrams movie to help get interest? But maybe not a fav with trekkie fans?@@ShipsoftheOceans
@@GenerationMediaReaction Then what ever you decide to go with I will advise if its a good place to start. Just finished your Star Wars reaction excellent.
That A NEW HOPE connection was priceless.
It was though, if you think of it, a few minutes, or even hours later, when Vader does catch up to them at the beginning of ep. IV, when she says "I'm a member of an Imperial Senate on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan" Vader should just go: "What are you talking about. I was literally there, not a day ago, and saw you, personally, escape with the plans" :D
@@lucasrokitowski8707 before the senate she would have plausible deniability. Maybe... but I mean it was a VERY corrupt senate and courts by then lol.
Watching Dad link the story slowly was magical. Especially the Tarkin and Red Five reveal. I assure the experience was identical for me in the theater.
The "I have the death sentence on 12 systems" guy was a nice touch.
@@GenerationMediaReaction Yeah but you know what great opportunity they missed here?
Is baby butt-faced space baboon there should've interrupted him mid-sentence in those angry gurgles he makes, "I have the death sentence on twelv-"
_uuurrrhgghrghllhrrrr!_
- Oh, I do NOT say that every time!
and they go off arguing.
Came to say the same thing. All I could think of while watching his face was, “this is exactly the reactions I was having seeing it in the theater.”
As others have said, Andor is incredible. I think that people are underestimating your son honestly. I think he actually would be fine watching it as he has seemed very mature with a lot of his other reactions to other films you have done. He doesn't seem to get bored as easy as other kids his age might.
17:19 I was about to say “you look like you’ve seen a ghost”… then realized that is exactly what happened
I know right! It was weird.
I'm 53 now, and distinctly recall seeing all the originals in theatre, and for my entire life, like most of my vintage, 'Empire Strikes Back' was the best Star Wars movie of all time. And then I saw this.
I agree, this was a great SW movie. I still like ESB more. The "problem" with Rogue One is that we kinda already know the broad strokes of what would happen. Filling in the gaps was the fun part.
I'm nearly 55 myself and after seeing the original at a dollar theater 6 weeks later, I saw all of Lucas' films opening weekend. I agree that ESB is the best of the original trilogy by a hair over ANH but think this was a very good film, definitely the best of the Disney films. They based it on the line from the original's title crawl and didn't deviate from the assignment.
Effin right,man!..😅51 n finally seeing it all tied together was pretty bad ass.... waited 30 something years to see Darth go Full Vader😂😂😂🔥🤘🔥🤘was impressive AF😂
Do you have any idea how happy I am to have lived long enough to hear the words HAMMERHEAD CORVETTE in the same sentence?!?😂 🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥😆
This is the only movie since the originals that I got the OT 'feels'
"They wouldn't kill a main character off just by falling down a pit," we thought that too, until Force Awakens...
Falling is a major trope for fiction, especially sci-fi and fantasy. Think how many times a character falls and is supposedly dead in The Lord of the Rings.
@rikk319 but in LotR, Gandalf doesn't TRULY die; you're referring to the 'fake-out' death trope, which is common for heroes and MCs, however, only villains ever ACTUALLY fall to their death. It was the WAY Han died that made Force Awakens so shocking; like a Disney villain. It's also what made Rise of Skywalker so insulting: that Palpatine somehow survived his fall/death - they broke their own rule.
"Whooo...."
"Shit!"
"Bloody Hell!"
Yeah. That about sums it up.
First off... Your son won't probably notice this right now but... I got very choked up when he fantasized about being the scrappy hero helping his dad fight bad guys at the beginning and you react with... Such emotion you can see and you say "I wouldn't want you to" and...
You have a good heart sir. You obviously truly love your son very much. I hope you both can maintain this kind of relationship even as you both age.
As for this movie... Truly the BEST post ROTS SW film in my opinion. I understand for some it may be too grim but... That's fine. SW is big enough to be interpreted so many ways. It contains multitudes. The creatives crafted a tense, action packed and emotional story with some strong things to say about the personal sacrifices and politics of opposing Authoritarian regimes.
Also it is gorgeous to look at. They realized the lived in and grimey look of ANH era. Frankly any break from Jedis and Sith and the force was very welcome. This IS a story of an armed insurrection trying to overthrow a government afterall and that aspect comes through gangbusters. And that is why I understand it HAS to have the ending it does. Luke's success was built on the blood and tears of the movement that came before him.
And of course... They didn't abandon the Force characters entirely because... THAT HALL SEQUENCE. Vader was SCARY again. The Empire was scary again in the whole film.
I can't praise this movie enough.
The exact same creative team for this film sans Edwards, also did ANDOR and while that's also not everyone's cup of tea I would HIGHLY suggest you give that series its day in court. Diego retirns as Andor playing the character before he joined the Rebellion. It's just AMAZING.
If this really was your cup of tea give ANDOR whirl definitely. I expect your facial expressions probably matched my own as soon as I finished it during its original release so I think you aree intrigued about this ccorner of the SW universe.
Thank you. Yeah sometimes one forgets how a sone looks to a Dad, and watching films is proving to be a good idea, and having conversations about them, long after the camera stops recording. Will check out Andor, it looks a little too much to do Reaction Videos (as they take a long time to edit the way i edit them!) but could be good to watch off camera.
@@GenerationMediaReactionYeah as a reaction thing I can see it being a bit much. I DO think that if you choose not to do a reaction at least do a review of the series or an episode by episode review. I can tell SW matters to you and truly... ANDOR is something special. A slow burn but you will be Lazer focused and excited by the end and chomping at the bit for more.
Watching the Dad's face in this reaction video was a treat, especially when Governor Tarkin appears on screen and his jaw fell open. I was cracking up watching you mentally process what you were witnessing... knowing Peter Cushing passed away years ago. It was so easy to see your brain doing the mental math and the numbers just weren't adding up. I loved it! 😆
It nicely sows the seed for Leia.
I remember after seeing this in the theater, I wanted go home and watch New Hope.
They did a great job of linking it with the original trilogy.
The Star Wars series "Andor" is all about Cassian Andor's backstory and how he joined the Rebellion.. great series I recommend!
I think this film showed that Star Wars works best in the "Classic" Rebellion vs Empire era. The ships, the vehicles, the fight, it's all just so timeless.
The nice thing about Rogue One and the Series Andor is that it sheds some more light on what fomenting a rebellion against a serious evil threat like the Galactic Empire might really be like and what it would require of ordinary people to make heroics of Luke, Han, Leia and others even possible. It's incredibly awesome to see. Makes the whole story seem such more real.
One of the best Rogue One reactions. It was awesome watching Dad make each of the connections to Episode IV. The reaction to the Tarkin reveal was priceless.
May the Fourth be will you.
Thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed it! Wow what a film!
Ok but "Who is Saw Gerrera?" Really???
Me: You would know if you'd watched the clone wars.
I was 5yo when Ep IV came out. If this had been the first film in the series to come out instead (& A New Hope the first sequel), I would have been traumatized as a kid. The realization that no one is going to make it out was a kick in the gut seeing it in the cinema.
The connection you make to 'The Hidden Fortress' is certainly apt, especially as the R2-3PO dynamic was itself inspired by the same characters.
The more memorabilia you brought out, the more I knew you would enjoy this particular film
In my opinion this movie ranked in the same category with the original 3.
Han and Leia and Luke and Lando are all great... But now these are my favorite Rebels... haha. Oh and Luthen and Marva.
Your mind getting blown at the end was EVERYONE in the cinemas. It was such an incredible ending and like Empire, it was tragic. ROGUE ONE might beat out Empire in my book, but I go back and forth pretty regularly.
I'm glad you finally got to see it. Now imagine seeing the Vader badass scene in theaters before it was all over youtube.
To help fill in the storyline: R2D2 and C3PO were there because Captain Antilles was there. In "Star Wars: A New Hope", C3PO tells Luke that "Our last master was Captain Antilles".
C3PO and R2 were at Yavin 4 when the small fighters were taking off, and a decent amount of time after the large ship had joined the battle. Captain Antilles didn't take them with him. So i guess the Leia's ship docked to the Admiral Raddus ship mid battle?
I think this is the best Star Wars movie that Disney has made. It put the “war” in Star Wars! Loved how it connected to A New Hope! Plus the Disney series “Andor” is a prequel to the main guy in this film.
The film is intentionally confusing to convey the whole concept of the "fog of war" where no one is to be trusted, people make mistakes and sometimes the best decisions are cruel and ugly in a real war. For example, when Cassian kills the man who gave him the message... he killed him because he could see he was about to be captured by stormtroopers because his arm was broken. He knew the Empire would have tortured him and found out what he knew, so in that moment, killing him was a merciful act. But for most viewers, that is too hard to grasp on the first viewing, we're left not fully understanding why it happened but that's intentional. We're not allowed to fully understand Cassian is really a good guy (forced to do terrible things) who later turns out to be a great hero. That's what war is really like and each time you watch this film, pieces fall in place in your mind and you understand it more. I've watched this film an almost embarrassingly large number of times and it is for me an official addition to the the original "trilogy". For me, it's a perfect Star Wars film. (I was 11 years old in 1977 so, I'm an ORIGINAL fan)
Good observation with Cassian. It's a lot to take in first viewing. It read as Cassian killing him, maybe because he ratted him out to the stormtroopers. I wasn't sure. Just looked at it back and you're right. That's why the emphasis is on the bad arm. And it's not clear the only way out is to climb. Thanks for the comment.
So VERY cool to see dad's mind blown both when Vader appears and starts cutting through the poor rebel soldiers to the Princess Leia reveal.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed
"Attack of the Clowns" -My favorite movie
I thought the same 😸
Hehe... do you like sand ?
“Where are those plans they sent you!” This movie was so brilliant.
I think you would both enjoy Andor… your son is so mature and intelligent. I know a ten year old who likes it. It’s not just a good Star Wars show, it’s one of the best TV dramas of recent years. Light years beyond Obi-Wan Kenobi in terms of quality.
Gentlemen, when I saw this in the theater, Carrie Fisher had just died. When they showed the CGI Princess Leia, I just wept for like 10 minutes. The only thing that is less than perfect for me is that Jen and Andor and then most of the rebel attack squad died in order to destroy the death star but the empire didnt fall, and even a decade later ANOTHER DEATH STAR and 20 years later AN EVEN BIGGER DEATH STAR. We never really get a full feeling of victory.
No more Death Stars please!
That was a fun reaction. Very cool seeing the generational views of it. The older generation's reaction to seeing CGI Tarkin was fun. They did do a pretty good job on him but honestly I feel they could have just let the actor Guy Henry just do him as himself. This film is a great war film set in the Star Wars universe. even though you know what will happen in the end, there is still a good story to tell. Much like old WWII movies. This movie really showcases that regular people started standing up to the Empire. It would be very interesting to see you guys react to ANDOR. It's an excellent production very much crafted like this film. The storytelling is a bit different so it would be interesting to see what the younger generation thinks. Much more mature and grounded.
Stormtroopers have FANTASTIC aim............whenever they're not shooting at main characters. 😉
Great aim when shooting at big Jawa trawlers according to Ben Kenobi!
Great aim except when they're told not to shoot the rebels so they can escape and be tracked to their hidden base. R2 and Leia both were hit by stormtroopers in Return of the Jedi.
@@rikk319 Good point, but you can't deny that bad guys with guns in almost ALL movies with shoot-out scenes (including Star Wars) tend, for the most part, to have great difficulty hitting the protagonists, and usually NO difficulty at all hitting background characters.
This isn't a criticism of any kind. It's just an unavoidable fact of such movies. I mean, do we WANT our heroes to be horribly injured or die in the first big shoot-out, purely in the interest of realism? Of course not! So we just suspend our disbelief a bit, and enjoy the movie!
@@BLSFL_HAZE True enough.
This was such a good movie! And a great reaction, too. I like how each of you picked up on certain things the other didn't and helped each other figure everything out.
You two should definitely react to the Disney+ show Andor. It's a prequel to this movie that covers the recruitment of Cassian (among other things). Same main creator as this film and possibly the best season of television that came out that year.
Thank you, hopefully better than Kenobi ?
@@GenerationMediaReaction much better
@@GenerationMediaReaction Andor isn't just better, it's one of the best Star Wars material ever made. It's that good.
Great reaction!
'Andor' is a must! Its about Cassian origin
Loved the X-Wing attack scene on Edo. The swooping in and all with the rainy and dark so cool💯🙂
That tears in the eyes stunned silence at the end, that never goes away. It doesn't matter how much you watch it.
Beautiful reaction, the way your son saw your reaction at the end and paused to give you a second was so wholesome
Also I can see you processing on Red 5, his death opened up a space on Red squadron for the next Red 5: Luke Skywalker.
Also the squad leader call ins, I could see you thinking there, it was a mix of new footage, footage from A New Hope and cut footage from A New Hope. If you watch closely the quality of the film changes for a second.
Oh yes totally got the Red 5 reference. So many thoughts pinging in the head at that time that I couldn’t say them all outloud! There’s a lot to like about this film
@@GenerationMediaReaction It's fantastic, I saw it in the cinema more than 20 times. I took my Dad to see it too, and I felt so much parallel between that and this.
My dad has even more special memories of that, because Carrie Fisher died minutes before we went in to watch. The emotional in that room as she turned around and said "Hope" was indescribable.
Gonna binge watch your content now
Thanks for watching. Yeah Leia and her passing adds so much weight to the film. Hope you like some of the other videos. We try and do projects that have resonance and depth rather than the more superficial 'reactors'. The context being the cross generation. Stand By Me is one where the complexity of story, teh nostalgia and watching as father and son, made a big emotional whack!@@JaymzShikari
@@GenerationMediaReaction I really felt that too, I used to enjoy genuine reactions but now they've become either fake overdramatized screaming or someone who just wants to talk for an hour.
Reactions are for reliving your first experiences through someone else, his genuine relationship I can see with you two lets me relive those Sundays with my dad watching Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Goonies, every 80s classic. So happy to have found it, please watch all of the movies ever made!
10:23 The reaction from your son when you reply, "It's her boyfriend" is priceless. I love how you are obviously a real fan of the original trilogy. It's very evident in your excitement when showing off your vintage Star Wars items. It's also nice the close relationship you have with your son. I enjoy the interaction between you both when watching these films. Your reaction videos have become among my favorite on TH-cam. I look forward to seeing the next one.
62 here...havent returned to this obsession since the summer of 77...5 times. It was all Star Wars..thought it was a one off pure eye candy... vader spinning off into oblivion...had it's own spoof with Hardware Wars, a disco version of the theme song and the first making of special on television (remember that interrupted an after school band practice) For me this reset the trilogies...Andor > Rogue One > Star Wars (aka new hope)
I loved your reaction when Tarkin showed up.
Smart kid. This is ny favorite Star Wars. The shots, acting, story….top notch
It has something, that's for sure.
@@GenerationMediaReaction Revenge of The Sith is 10x better. You're a horrible father for doing this in wrong order.
I was eleven years old when the first Star Wars movie came out, simply titled Star Wars, no episode number, no "A New Hope" until after The Empire Strikes Back came out. It was interesting seeing your old poster, the toys that were available and the VHS. I personally had the X-Wing and Darth Vader's TIE fighter along with several of the action figures. I also binge-bought 155 of the Expanded Universe / Legends era novels in the late 1990s and early 2000s. I think it's so nice that you can share your experiences with your son through these movie reactions. How wholesome.
Yeah i don't like calling it A New Hope. When he did that, it was good that he created buzz around other episodes, but there was also issue with that of course. I felt like i showed the boy the original three when he was too young, but Rogue One helped make up for it
This reaction is with me, and I am with this reaction.
Congratulations sir, you win best comment of the video!
I found your channel randomly, I like the dynamic you two have.
Hey, thanks for watching, hopefully you will enjoy some other videos also
That ending scene with vader is sad but amazing at the same time! the force is strong with vader!
May the Fourth be with both of you always!
thank you sir!
Second best starwars for me ❤
Hahaha, I loved your reaction to Tarkin showing up. And of course, Leia at the end. It was great, your son was so happy with the movie, asking if you liked it, and you're still just in stunned awe.
It really was an amazing movie. It _feels_ like Star Wars, and I realized "everyone's going to die" about the same time you did, when the pilot died.
I watched the film in the theater with my kiddo, and I remember at the end when Vader shows up in the hallway, I gasped. I thought, "Oh shit, they're not going to make it." I literally forgot there were 6 other movies. 😂 The movie ends about an hour before Episode IV.
In any case, this was a fun reaction, and I loved both of your reactions. There's some needlessly harsh criticisms of the movie, but I really do think if you just sit down to watch it for fun, it really does deliver.
Entertaining for sure! Star Wars franchise, particularly the new ones, brings so many opinions from various fans, it's good to discuss. Don't get me started on Rise of Skywalker!
Tidbit for yas. During the arial fight Red 5 got shot down and killed. Luke, on attack on the Death Star became the new Red 5
Spotted!
Wow! A Kelly's Heroes reference! Nice to hear while I'm drinking wine and eating cheese, and catching some rays, you know.
Enjoy!
The dad being of the original SW.generation is blown away by the shear force of realizing the storyline going full circle. you can really see i in his expression in the end, just stunned. Love it!
Agreed, this was lovely to watch.
Your reaction to Tarkin is amazing 😅
Wonderful reaction! The Andor series is my favorite SW content to date 💖
Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed it!. Will look at Andor
The Jedi are not the only ones who can wield the Force
when you started talking about the sequel trilogy, I was going to make a comment about how they did not think it out, which was the problem and then you said it spot on.
This would have been so good if they had an outline. We want to go from this point and end at this point. Because what happened is they brought in these different directors, they wanted to take their own spin on the story, and everything just felt jumbled and incoherent.
Parts of Scariff Base was filmed in Canary Wharf tube station, one or two of the early trailers made it very obvious
Yes looked it up after viewing... You can still see a couple of shots in the film - like where K2SO sees the Imperial K2SO for example.
Your reaction to the CGI Peter Cushing was absolutely priceless - great son-father reaction channel - awesome to see dad's original Star Wars stuff
Man, those posters took me back...
This was the best of the newer films for sure
The best 'Star Wars' film since 'Empire' by a country mile.
Incredible ending! Everyone realizing securing the Death Star plans was worth any sacrifice.
59:07
This part just reminded me of that beach scene in deep impact.
Hahahaha - Run Forest, run!!
You're clearly a great dad.
I believe Chirrut would have become a Jedi if it weren't for the bad (for him) timing of the purge.
As Gen-X this was totally badass...the way it ties together using CGI (successfully) ... another impressive tie in with a classic movie is THE THING w Kurt and the newer remake....🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ve not really enjoyed Star Wars outside the original trilogy, but this was really enjoyable.
A Father who loves his Son
This is the best star wars movie of them all.
those are some pretty cool posters. the toys were a huge part of my childhood. i didn't get the falcon or at-at, though, and so when they released them again in the '90s i bought both as an adult. lol. i wish i still had star wars on vhs. i loaned the og 3 to a coworker who was fired a week later and i never saw him or my movies again.
I saw this twice in the theater. First time I drove through a snowstorm. (Thankfully my new tires worked.) The second time was just after Carrie Fisher died. I lost it when Leia appeared. Still tear up after all these years.
I hope you at least watch the prequels. You might enjoy them more after all these years. Especially Episode 3.
Yeah it's a strange feeling seeing Carrie Fisher on screen looking young again.
That was a great reaction! Thank y'all!
So, there are two shows that really connect with this movie (and are both excellent in their own way in my opinion).
1. Star Wars: Rebels, a animated series more designed for kids though I think it has more than enough content for adults as well AND it actually is in my opinion the single biggest source of Lore in modern day StarWars (yes, even more than the much more famous Clone Wars animated Series, at least in my opinion, since this one is important for the time-period of the original trilogy where most modern productions take place).
I think Rebels actually has some of the best new characters in StarWars (characters that weren't created through the original trilogy). It also has quite good stories and almost more importantly incredible World Building if you really look deeper. The only gripe I have is that some more serious scenes can fall a bit flat, probably somewhat due to this still being a kids show
2. Andor, the Live-Action Series that shows us Casian Andor and other important people of the Rebellion from 5 years BBY (Before Battle of Yavin, so before Rogue One and the Original Trilogy) until right up to Rogue One (in the second season that is not out yet). I think based on the fact that you two really got invested in some deeper aspects of Rogue One as well, that you both could really enjoy this show. It is a bit slower but that only emphasis everything it's good at, specifically the drama, character-interactions and world building.
- Both shows are I think the best two shows out there for StarWars right now and they both expand the world extremely well, especially for this time-period and in the case of Rebels even beyond it.
- Both shows actually start at the same time (5 BBY) though Andor will with it's second season be a bit further along in the timeline (Rebels stops in about 1 BBY at the end of it's forth season)
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I like the idea of Andor. It might be a bit much to do reaction videos for it, but maybe if there are key episodes worth doing ?
@@GenerationMediaReaction When it comes to watching the show you really need to watch every episode since they all build on one another. It is in that respect more like an HBO show than something like animated StarWars (Clone Wars as an example) where you can skip some episodes.
The show is build on "3" episode arcs:
1 - 3 is first arc
4 - 6 is second arc
7 is a transition episode
8 - 10 is third arc
11 - 12 is the last arc (where everything comes together)
Besides the main arc there are also other storylines that are going on at the same time and are a bit more fluid (not as confined to these arcs).
Thanks for this. If we watch it privately and in chronological order of course, are there key episodes that would make good reaction videos do you think? For example, the end of second arc or last episode etc. ? @@latech7671
@@GenerationMediaReaction Yeah, if you want the most action in the reactions the end of each arc is the best way to go since those usually have the most going on (the once before that are building up to that last episode)
As far as I remember, Donnie Yen (the greatest star contracted for this film) plays a jedi temple guard cadet. The jedi trained him as a child, he is sensitive to the force but can't wield it as a jedi does. He keeps the faith in the force though. I don't remember where I read it, may be a fan theory but sounds good. Great video!
This is awesome! Keep up the reactions! New subscriber here! ❤
Thanks for watching. More classics, old and new, coming weekly.
Great reaction and great photo!
Ah, you saw the photo! thanks for noticing !
in the newer star wars battlefront video game you find out more about the black storm troopers as you play as one in the campaign you find out they are like the special forces of the storm trooper like Storm trooper version of the SAS or Navy Seals
they look very cool!
Dad looked traumatized by the Vader scene.
haha!
@@GenerationMediaReactionwas it the only scene to make you swear? 😉 I know you've had to edit bits out, but I don't think I caught any up until the end there!
oops, hadn't noticed !

Couldn't agree more regarding the sequel trilogy.
It's so frustrating that they didn't have a story outline stretching over all three films. (I just cannot understand how one can set out to make a trilogy but does not think about the main plot points of the whole story before starting with the first film...)
The actors are great, the production value is obviously high but the story is an incohesive, inconsistent mess.
And because of that it feels like Disney didn't care about Star Wars or its fans.
"Rogue One" is great, though.
---
On another note:
Do you know "A Goofy Movie"?
It's a funny and heartwarming story about the love/relationship between father and son and how it changes when the little one grows up.
Might be a good fit for you. ;)
REACT TO THE PREQUELS! If you don't like them at least let your son see them. I'm sure he's going to love them. The lightsaber battles are so much more epic.
Ok good idea… it could be a good experiment to test the prequels (he knows nothing of them)
You really should watch the prequels I didn't like them that much when I first saw them but the older they get the better that get. Plus it tells the earliier lore of the Skywalkers
If you want exceptionally written Star Wars, watch Andor. It’s easily the best written live action Star Wars since the Disney acquisition.
Misconception: stormtroopers dont suck a shooting, Vader told them to not hit our original group of heroes., as he played they long game and bugged their ship to reveal their base. Or destination as he does It more then once.
Disney killed the story: the emperor before being a senator explorered the unknown regions outside the galaxy, one of the ways the clone army was made, but he found a threat heading to the galaxy, a force immune biologically and technologically. See Anakin did balance the force for the better. The Jedi were ill equiped to fight the Vong, and the Death Stars a powerful defence, but no one but the emperor was aware of the threat. So this movie fits, as the Moffs were many times sadistic.
And 2 Disney ran with a meme instead of lore making stormtroopers cannon fodder
I had to listen twice at 0:37 . Turns out you did say, “clowns“. It’s when you were trying to say. “Attack of the Clones.
I think he said 'clowns' with a tongue in his cheek!
Governor Tarkin was brought back by AI and CGI.
Nothing wrong with fan service 😉 best SW movie easily IMHO and as some have said Andor is best SW content out there but Top 10 series all time ... But it is mature in its dialouge in regards to understanding....
I think it comes down to the type of fan service. Or where the writing of it comes from. Like making Obi Wan and Vadar fight in a TV series is not the same level of fan service as seen in this film (Death sentence guy on Jedda, Red 5, T16, X-Wing pilots etc)
@@GenerationMediaReaction agree to disagree ...
I had a ton of star wars toys in the 80s but I brought them outside and left them in my sandbox 😢
Hi guys , Moonraker's set in space ! Just saying !!
Haha!
Only messing with you , it's my bond sense of humour ! I saw Rouge one in the cinema Christmas 2016 I think I thought it was one of the best stand alone Star Wars films . There is another one called Solo but I remember it being not so good ! I suppose you've seen the Mandalorian series, I thought they were good .
I remember watching this and wasn't enjoying it so turned it off. Fast forward a few years, I see someone here reacting to it and damn karma hit me like a ton of bricks when I saw the scene with vader. Had no idea he was even in it
if ur boy hasn’t seen the prequels, they’d make for a great reaction. there’s silly stuff ya, but the end of the 3rd is worth it!!!
also i’m curious if you know anything about the harmy’s despecialized editions of the original trilogy… that’s the only way i’ll watch them now!
Very interested in the despecialized editions. For me, it's about admiring what they achieved with the technology they had at the time, not the recent digital polish.
@@GenerationMediaReaction look it up on youtube! harmy has his own channel and he shows you everything he's done. its really amazing... it's a bit of a chore to download the files but if you're interested i'm sure i can find a way to get you the files!
he's seen the original movies, but had no idea who Peter Cushing was ? Good lord...
What the what? He completely recognises Peter Cushing and says his name ? Were you watching ?!
@@blackscreenrelaxation9463 Yeah. I can see how you get that he knew who Peter Cushing was when he literally asked "who's that ?"
@@Spottedfeather Ah, I get it now. Thought you were talking about the dad who clearly recognises Peter Cushing. But you're actually talking about the boy. So, this means you're being critical to a boy not recognising Peter Cushing?
@@blackscreenrelaxation9463 of course. They say that the kid has seen the original movies, so it makes no sense that he wouldn't know Peter Cushing...
@@Spottedfeather It's not a wild stretch of belief that child can't remember one character from a trilogy they watched years ago. Looks to me the kid was responding to his dad's disbelief of seeing Peter Cushing and therefore riding on that reaction. From the video, there's a lot of other things that are worth far more to comment on than this.
its HECKIN good
Did you guys ever get around to watching Small Soldiers? If not, It's a good one. Like gremlins but the with toys.
We haven't yet. It's on the list though
The prequels have aged like fine wine :P Hopefully the wee man likes them haha.
I have considered these, but not sure i can do it. The only thing that interests me is to see, maybe, is without all the marketing and expectation, whether the lad likes them for the story ... like an experiment
more like aged like a loaf of cheap bread
@@GenerationMediaReaction i know the originals had duff dialouge but was made up for with engaing story and belivable character's the prequels fell flat on everything
I had considered doing a Reaction video to Phantom Menace but cutting to us both completely NOT reacting at all, and as teh film plays out, it cuts to use reading a book instead @@karazor-el9596
Yeah...I had the same reaction. ;)
Still sends that chill down my spine. Every time. ;)
Oh, please. Grand Moff. Look at his rank plaques.
what's a 'Moff' ?! (hehe)
I recommend a reaction to Scene 38 redone. You’ll love it.
Oh wow!

I really enjoyed your reaction. Your excitement made this even better to watch. Your knowledge is strong 💪🏻
My fav part was when Vader turned on the light saber 😎
Check out this
One person made a Star Wars anime short movie.
Its called “TIE Fighter - short film” by OtaKing Animation, there is a copy floating about so make sure you watch the real one by this guy.
Also love Kelly's Heroes 👍🏻
Many thx looking forward to more
🇬🇧🙌🏻🙇🏻♂️
Wow, an excellent piece of work! thanks for pointing us towards that!
Hopefully you get to some good stuff again been awhile
Could you say what kind of good stuff you are referring to please?
Did i hear "Attack on the Clowns"?
You did
Seeing Vader in his prime would mean during the 19-year gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Coincidentally, that is when the Obi-Wan Kenobi series is set. (Just sayin'.) You might not be a big fan of the Prequel films, so maybe Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan isn't your cup of tea, but some of the best, most vicious, most brutal, live-action Vader scenes are in this series.
"A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi knights. He betrayed and murdered your father. Now the Jedi are all but extinct." THIS is was needs to be seen, but felt they killed off too many Jedi in Revenge of Sith.
0:26 "...Attack of the Clowns..."
i missed that one myself. 🤡🙂
