So funny story about mine. I was looking for one, but the prices were insane. I basically gave up on it. Out of the blue, my buddy calls me up telling me he found one for sale. Place was asking for $200. He was missing everything and he was in rough shape. His thumbs were missing, his head was messed up, a plastic piece was broken at the bottom of his foot, and he had crayon streaks. It took a lot of work, but I was able to fix him up greatly. I got both his DNA Design upgrade kit, AND his Unique Toys upgrade kit, which was not easy to get. Terry from Terry's TFS Club hooked me up by buying one he found for me, and I just paid the cost he covered, which was something never done. I am eternally grateful to him for that. Anywho, I was able to get everything for him. Including the little plastic set that came with the SDCC set! I have all the 3rd party and official Six Gun, Slammer, and Scamper figures. I feel like mine has a story, and I love every part about him! Great review of him!
A big impressive figure much in need of a Modern Titan redo. Really gotta love that finger articulation. Okay, this is the first time I've seen Cyberteon Metroplex next to Tidal Wave and didn't realize he was scaled that much shorter. I can see why the price is steadily dropping on Amazon.
Speaking of Fall of Cybertron, I would've loved an actual FoC-accurate Metroplex, cause I just love the proportions of that version. The classic FoC bulk really works to sell his size. Plus, his alt mode's probably the most convincing "building" a metroplex has ever been, so much so that I didn't even notice him in the background of the prime level the first time I played it. I know there were prototypes of a 3rd party FoC Metroplex a while ago, I wonder if that'll ever come out.
That G1 cartoon Metroplex is my favorite Transformer and goes amazingly with Legion and Core class. I wish we could bet a tripticon that scales with metroplex
I bought this guy at Costco years ago on sale right before Christmas for $75 brand new. He's still sealed in box out in my garage in a tote. It's crazy how much he's being sold for on eBay right now. If I hold out maybe in a couple of years I can trade him in for a house
This plot does NOT match up with the plot from Transformers General 1 Season 3 at all! We know "Autobot City" was created on Earth sometime between 1986 to 2005. This refers to the Autobot City we saw in Transformers: The Movie that has a City mode and a Battle Station mode. This likely does NOT refer to "Metroplex." The "Robot" mode called "Metroplex" was apparently built after Autobot City was extremely damaged in 2005 by the sneak attack of the Decepticons. This is why we've seen Metroplex as "Part Of" Autobot City in 2006 during Season 3.
That's the OG of all Titans. You are lucky to have found one that is not all messed up for the price that you did. Be grateful. The aftermarket is what it is because for a mint one and a new one is the collectible value that itnis the oldest Titan and the first one and the G1 that everyone wants.
You're very lucky on getting him as well getting his gun, i still got mine and while it does do a lot of sound effects he does say some words like someone already posted but you have to cycle the sounds a lot. However what is more important is that the electronics are working, they're a lot of people that had issues with their copies which for some reason they wouldn't work at all.( luckily mine work just fine) Still got mine, it has yellowed a bit but their is nothing one can do about it since its the nature of the white plastic to yellow overtime, I might try to do the hydro peroxide treatment asap before it yellows far to much. As for the sticker they already started to rip and tear so i might try to get reprolabels stickers for him.
So a couple things: The helmet on your copy is attached the wrong way, and I think your audio chip is also busted. I've had this original version of Metroplex for years and there are voice clips that play when I press my copy's button. But great review regardless!

The Canadian release doesn't have the voice effects just sound effects because of language laws - they were in English only so instead of translating them to French, Hasbro removed them 👿
I can’t speak for the Metroplex, but I know one of the upgrade kits for the Fort Max comes with replacement ratchets for the upper thigh that give him some added clicks of articulation. I’m not sure if there was a similar kit made for Meteoplex, but since he’s a mold mate with Fort Max, maybe you can use the ratchets from that kit. Can’t confirm if it will, but just a thought of you’re looking to strengthen that ratchet joint.
I don't know if you care for addon kits, but the DNA Designs hands and Red guns for Brave Maximus are nice. They both were recently reissued and I have them on mine. I am still hunting the red X2 Toys gun for mine.
Man, could have bought this guy on clearance back in the day, but I didn't have room fir him at that time... Kicking myself for not buying him ever since
I got the Takara version of this and it's still great. I never bothered with "Notroplex" as it was too expensive for what it's essentially a poor man's G1 Metroplex and/or not as good as the original Cybertron/Galaxy Force version.
"Metroplex heeds the call of the Last Prime" is prolly one of the most kickass reinforcements have arrived lines in fiction. 😅 I really hope Hasbro does a Metrotitan redeco of Metroplex, and redeco TR Fort Max as a Legends Titan RiD Brave Max.
I couldn’t find anyone else who made this comment, but, there is a way to fix the way the helmet looks. A lot of the copies of this figure came misassembled, it’s a extremely tight fit and with the aging of the plastic it might be a good idea to be careful. But, I was able to get the peg holes at the side of the head to fit in the slots on the inside of the head, just above how you have them in the video. I wish I could show pictures to better show what I mean. But, I was able to fix my figure’s issue with this. The helmet still slides over forward it is just a more tighter fit and it is likely the way that the figure was designed to work that way. Anyways hope this helps out in fixing that problem for those who have this guy and have this problem.
This figure was so amazing at the time, despite some obvious shortcomings. If they take another stab at him I'd be REALLY interested. Not just a reissue. He needs ankle tilt so badly, plus the alt modes aren't very good.
I happened to pick up my Metroplex for reasons some month back. He's on top of a library with all the CW Combiners. I got on a chair, grabbed him by a leg to take him down and he promptly headbutted me sinche the knees just bent forward without warning... it WAS painful. Mine does talk, though.
This review is probably 10 years too late. Sure, it doesn't hold up to the newer ones in terms of articulation but man, I still remember when this released in 2014. Most, including the old school TF toy reviewers, were in awe. I have the Hasbro and the Takara versions, and if there's a figure in my collection that I'd part last, it'd be either version of Metroplex. To me, it stands the test of time, but I admit my bias due to nostalgia. This toy reminds me of my broke a$$ days as a college student and how cheap this was on retail in my country - a little under $100 USD.
I just had a great birthday two weeks ago and actually got the Legacy Cybertron Metroplex, it’s awesome. I did also get an original print run version of issue 6 from the G1 Transformers Marvel comic.
My stickers aren't pealing at all, maybe they didn't stick them down fully when they applied them or something but I've had mine for years and other than being very dusty it's still mint. Also, mine says the "head the call of the last prime" phrase. As for Scamper, he's perpetually manning the gun on Metroplex's left shoulder. What i really want is an upgrade kit that gives him proper hand that i can also find...and my ratchets seem to be holding up as well, can easily get him in a squat pose and he'll hold it... I had no idea this guy is going for $600 on the market! Jeez
Yes this titan holds up! I have the Comic Con version with the chrome face and legs and TWO red guns! It is fantastic and the sounds do have voice recordings. Better than Fort Max! Only Scorponok comes close to this guy in the amount of fun you can have with it!
I’d really like a new Titan Metroplex. I have the Diaclone Reboot Great Robot Base and I think a more G1 styled Metroplex with the articulation we’ve gotten since Siege would be awesome alongside him since Meteoplex was a leftover design from that era. I wish I had a few more Titans. Legacy Metroplex is cheap but I find him too boring. I’m sad that I missed both Omega Supreme and Scorponok. I keep going back and forth on getting Black Zarak to fill the Scorponok void and while I could get the Guardian Robot, since Omega specifically is a missing piece of my 85 Autobots, I’d much rather wait for a potential reissue or cross my fingers to find him on the aftermarket.

Cool to have caught them all... but eats storage space pretty fast. 😅 guardian robot took a while because of the bloated price but when it got to 150, pulled the trigger.
as a guy who is really not a fan of these city modes I’m impressed on how good these look, like they look like what they were intended and not like a man lying down…and of course its on a figure I’d need to sell my kidneys to even THINK about getting the money for it
I would love a G1 style titan Metroplex but they already used titan metroplex as a name on MegaloConvoy so I really dont see them making another titan metroplex. But Im not holding my breath because Ive seen bad odds overcome so many times in my life that 1 in 100000 is basically 1 in 50 so it could still happen
I definitely remember that there was a version with voice clips and i think it was the SDCC version, as the one I got was the main retail release and he just makes noises
@@RodimusMinor1987 oh wow I looked it up in the tf wiki "The version released in various multilingual packaging variants (notably in Canada and the UK) has a different soundbox, omitting all of Metroplex's voice clips. " that is bad...
Mine has gotten very brittle over time, the pegs that hold the legs together in the carrier mode snapped off. Half of the stickers peeled off too. I won't transform it anymore because I don't want it to break more.
What annoys me about this toy is it was made to coincide with Fall Of Cybertron, yet they totally screwed the design just so he'd be the new tallest TF figure. This was done by doing a Mike Teevee; putting him in the taffy puller to stretch him out into a lanky sod. Perhaps one day we'll get a Studio Series Gamer Edition Titan Class FOC Metroplex
This is the one that got away, when i was young my dad and I never got a chance to pick it up, my only real regret as it is basically impossible to get.
The only titan mold I missed out on and frankly it’s my least favorite of them. Still kind of want it just because he was the first but the cybetron Metroplex is good enough for me.
Titans just aren't for me I think... I have Fort Max and the size just means it isn't fun to mess with, just a hassle. At least this one has a better base mode. I am still holding out hope one day for them to make city bots at a smaller scale, as I LOVE my Kabaya Fort Max (and Earthrise Modulators) to bits.

But Im not holding my breath because Ive seen bad odds overcome so many times in my life that 1 in 100000 is basically 1 in 50 so it could still happen
That is the coolest transformer I have ever seen out of a Titan
I definitely remember that there was a version with voice clips and i think it was the SDCC version, as the one I got was the main retail release and he just makes noises
the retail version has voice clips also, but it cycles the the first 2 sounds when the battery is too low.

The one I got I put freshly bought batteries in it an it didn't have any voice clips
@@RodimusMinor1987 oh wow I looked it up in the tf wiki "The version released in various multilingual packaging variants (notably in Canada and the UK) has a different soundbox, omitting all of Metroplex's voice clips. " that is bad...
@@RichterX83
That's what I thought
LOL if I known you were going to get it for that price I wouldn't have sold it at the store but I'm glad you got it
dont forget the shoulder cannons extend!
I think it holds up I might buy it someday
Metroplex is a great figure. I have the Japanese release so all details are painted in no stickers
this is why we need a gamer edition one its too hard to get
It would’ve been so cool to get the diaclone repaint of this but it just didn’t happen and if we were to get a G1 metroplex it’s probably a new figure
Got mine from tfcon Toronto years ago for $110 lol And it's the acg version so like the sdcc but with different color decoys.
This was the figure that got me into collecting
Metroplex just looks like he’s saying “what did I do? Is there something wrong with me” each time you said something about his articulation 😭😭😭💀💀💀
I actually like this one. I'm actually looking for the bullet for the red Cannon for I lost somewhere
Metroplex heeds the call to the toy guy
Bro, if they make an SS Game Edition Titan class Metroplex in a couple of years, that'd be insane.
I have the Takara version I got for retail price weeks before it went permanently out of stock on BBTS.
My favorite Transformers are usually Deluxes or Voyagers. I prefer smaller figures.
Is there enough ports to connect all the pieces of Six Gun? Weird that the ramp doesn't peg into anything.
I hope they make Titan Class figures for Studio Series so we can get Stratosphere, Jetfire and tge Dinobots is a accurate size.
He does speak, just change the battery 😂
😂😂
The only titan mold I missed out on and frankly it’s my least favorite of them. Still kind of want it just because he was the first but the cybetron Metroplex is good enough for me.
I've had mine since it came out and not a single sticker has peeled off somehow, its crazy
I sold my copy for 100 bucks.i never thought that the price of him would jump up the way it has.kicking myself lol
This Metroplex holds up great and I hope Hasbro reissues it one day. This is the only Titan I missed out on.
..id just tear off all stickers and repaint
I how we get a G1 version of metroplex and tripticon in the new powere of the primes thing that hasbro is doing next year
the red gun is a ship from the transformers cybertron tv show i think
Had to cancel my preorder of Fortress Max, came to my senses not to pay $200+ for when it came it was around 150 to $120.
"Metroples needs the call of the last prime" ahh vid
It you want a toy something that's similar to metroplex but with a lot more play features I suggest looking up the diaclone robot base GX
Yes! Please re-issue this!
