    Hello Pilates Lovers ! I am hoping this will help your hip groin pain and pelvic floor weakness . . Let me know if there is any video you would like me to discuss and help your progression so that when you do your advance Pilates exercises you are more even and will not cause any low back pain or injury on your spine and sacroiliac area. I made a follow along program you could do with me th-cam.com/video/wYEnldl5yA0/w-d-xo.html

    Hi Annie, I have suffered with this pain for years and went to numerous PTs, but never did these exercises! Wow! This is what is so tight!!! I can't even sit up straight in the mermaid position. I will keep working on these exercises and hopefully this will target the right muscles. I have tried everything!! Thank you for you great instructions.

    I'm confused. THER OI is an abd in flexion and an ER with hip extended. So, you are doing just the opposite?

  • @korapeck6053

    I was curious during the second exercise where you had the 90 degree angles and you were lifting your arms, I noticed when I lift my leg my hip feels like it’s popping each time I lift it. Is that due to obturator being tight or weak?

    I just have a question. If my left groin is pulling, should I do knee rotation exercises both sides or weaker side only

    Thank you. I need these specific exercises. They are accessible to me.
    Your descriptions and progressions really help me
    I start with a warm up of stepping up on a step stool. 50 steps each side. I play a yoga chant cd for focus.

    This is wonderful, thank you Annie. My hip pops when I lift up on my leg with the hip (obturator internus) I am stretching. This is the side (non-dominant) that is tight and wonder what other ligament or muscle is tight causing this?

    • @Bankai90
      @Bankai90 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just wanted to add for other people. Same for me.
      My NON dominant side is tight as hell with the Obturator, while everything else seems tight on the dominant side.

    These exercises were extremely helpful--making an immediate improvement on the pain and bloating that I have been experiencing for over a year. They give me hope that I can fully recover to a pain-free condition without bloating. THANK YOU Annie! HOWEVER, I do wish that you would use a better microphone as I had a great deal of trouble understanding what you were saying--even with my best headphones on. Also, it is a minor inconvenience to have to return to part 2 and 3 starting points to do the exercises on the other side--so I do wish you would do both sides on the tape--again, a minor point.

    Annie, I have tight everything on right side and my pelvis twists - everything bad is on the right - can I do this exercise w my pelvis twisted? Waiting to go to the chiropractor AGAIN. I'm so tired of this happening but the pelvic floor specialist I went to told me the OI is pulling on my pelvis and causing some of the rotation?? Any suggestions? Thank you for making this video :)

    • @AnniePilatesPhysicalTherapist
      @AnniePilatesPhysicalTherapist  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jenni Dudley try the side exercises first focusing on your right Oi until you could perform 3 sets of 50 reps with ease with progression with ankle weight on your knee , then progress to your ankle start with 1 lb weight as tolerated . Rest at least a minute between sets . Then after a week of focusing in sidelying with ease then you could slowly progress to the mermaid 90/90 position . Try stretching your low back , Glutes and piriformis as well in conjunction with this in order to tolerate the mermaid position . Here is another video I just recently made with better audio and visual qualities th-cam.com/video/wYEnldl5yA0/w-d-xo.html

    • @AnniePilatesPhysicalTherapist
      @AnniePilatesPhysicalTherapist  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      And this is the piriformis stretching you could add if you want to release this muscle as well because it is correlated . th-cam.com/video/w2ga9XDonfE/w-d-xo.html I am planning to make better video and audio quality of this video as well in the near future
