    I've used this stuff on my 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia and my dad's 67 E type. No issues on either car. I know it works as I did a test on the trunk of my Alfa before tackling the entire car. When I washed the car off after the test area the soap was sliding off the trunk surface. I will be applying this to all the cars I own and look after. To each their own. I love it, you hate it. Fair enough.

      I’ve used it three times and watched the proper way to apply it in between and still it won’t come off right. I also use it on black cars so anything that’s not coming off is much more noticeable then a grey, silver or white car

    I’ve done some paint correction recently and after, I went straight to coating the body with hyrdroslick. It was super hard to buff out and didn’t last long at all. I then realized I didn’t prep the surface after the paint correction (stripping the oils/waxes & residues left behind by compounds and polishes) I did a paint correction again, prepped the surfaces removing the residues to allow hydroslick to bond to the clear coat properly & it buffed out super easy this time around. I also am allowing it to cure properly and am currently awaiting to see the longevity of it this time.. hopefully it bonds properly and lasts much longer like it says

    I JUST used it for the first time about an hour ago. It was nearly impossible to remove. It came out sort of "grainy", and those grains just wouldnt wipe off. I actually stopped after using it on the hood, roof, and front fenders.

    Directions-"we recommend allowing 1-2 minutes before removing"
    Detail dude- 30 sec later "alright now I'm going to begin buffing"
    This has to be a joke, the way you applied the product reminded me of the first time I put wax on my first car. Slow no movement, you have to spread the product and work it in. Not glide across the surface in streaks. I used this product last month and people though I painted my car. It's an 2001 with black paint. 10/10 product and you use almost none of the bottle for a full car, the bottle should last for years....

    • @VividTape
      @VividTape 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The reason they say to leave it on for 1-2 minutes is to make sure it lays smooth. The ease of removal doesn't change dumb ass. If you have actually used the product, you would know this. You don't have to spread or work this product in, that literally does nothing for it LMFAO

    • @RawrMerk
      @RawrMerk 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VividTape Wrong, the wait times is necessary so the product can dry! Allowing the residue left behind to be buffed or wiped off easily.
      Not waiting leaves you with the un-evaporated solution that allows you to spread the product.
      Resulting in a "tough buff" situation.
      I have used the product, in fact I used it before this video popped up on my feed...my paint is 19 years old. No issues like he had, patience and trial would show you/ him the same.

    I don’t understand the issue. I applied this to my SUV with no issues at all. In fact, it’s working great for me. 4-5 dots at a time, dab it out on the paint, the. Cross hatch to rub it in. I waited 20s and repeated the crosshatch pattern with light pressure, my thinking was that this would allow it to partially flash and then if better fill in any low spots. Buffed off within 1-1:30.
    This was in warm humid weather, on a freshly washed but dry car. No paint correction, no decontamination, but it did have an ~2month old application of Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray.

    Just used this on a brand new car. Did the trunk as a test panel and only used two small squirts on a dry microfiber pad. Applied in the cross hatch pattern and gave it a full minute and it left behind a rough, almost gritty, texture. Using several microfiber towels and a lot of elbow grease, I finally got the shit off. It's definitely slicker than the rest of the car but I'm afraid to continue applying.

    • @PlayafromtheHimalayas
      @PlayafromtheHimalayas 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Follow up: So I found that using less of the product on a smaller area gives better results. I put small dabs of Hydroslick on the microfiber application, then I go ahead and spread that on the pad with a finger. I noticed this reduces it laying heavy in spots even after dabbing the surface in multiple areas. Otherwise it creates these gelatin like boogers and end up being the rough gritty texture I experienced before. Now I'll give it some time to cure and see how it holds up to the elements.

      Basically it's a synthetic/natural wax base with a sio2 concentration that sort of fills in the occurring pores of the wax on a microscopic level..
      Angelwax Enigma is an example of a good ceramic wax. That stuff is very easy to apply and remove and is very durable.
      Ceramic wax is basically a product to sell consumers who are scared of anything called a "coating" and/or just enjoy the process of waxing their vehicles frequently. Not something I use very often professionally or otherwise.

    You don't have to use a damp applicator, i applied this product and it whiped off easy, with a thin and thicker coat. A damp applicator and short cure time results in streaks and it will be hard to buff off to a clear finish. If there is contamination on the paint it will also be harder to buff off.

    I think it works great, it does leave the paint ultra slick to the touch. (seriously, best I have ever seen without true ceramic coating) It also really keeps the dust off my truck. I get great results with it. Its not a ceramic coating, DUH. The shine and gloss is much better than Maguire's. I think Maguire's leaves my paint dull and hazy. (and yes, I am applying it as directed) Apex detail did a good video on how long hydro slick lasts. And in his video you can clearly see the improvement in the gloss & shine. It does take a bit of elbow grease to remove, but no more than the old school paste wax. (no pain no gain) I have no issues seeing where to take it off. I think your videos have become very subjective, and that's is why I unsubed a while ago. You did the same thing with Maguire's when it first came out. You hated it, and thought it was junk, until they held your hand to actually apply it correctly. I get it, you are a detailer and want to do things as fast as possible, but that's does not usually produce the best results. But alas, you don't seem to read the comments anymore, so I have basically wasted my time, because you clearly don't care about your subscribers anyone.

      Don't listen to people like this. They don't understand the products they are using. This product will actually ATTRACT dust and dirt, like silicone should. It doesn't last, it's hard to fully remove, and it is terrible for your microfiber towels. It's not ultra slick to the touch, it's the same as a common wax (which is easy to remove you inexperienced dumb ass). It repels water like a common wax. It even shines like a common wax. If you don't have a single negative thing to say about a product, you are hiding the truth because no products are perfect.

    Thank you for your review of Hydro Slick. It seems like Chemical Guys need to go back to the drawing board on Hydro Slick. Personally I've gravitated towards Adam's products as a trusted source for car care products. However, the thing that piqued my interest was your use of Optimum Clear Coat Restorer. I searched through your past videos to see if you have reviewed this product but found nothing. If you did review the product please point me to it. If not, your thoughts on the product would be much appreciated.

    Tried this on a freshly paint hood and fender. Poor performance, lack of beading and gloss was sub par. Comment section talks about how the youtber put too much, then put too little. Now he has to dampen the applicator pad etc etc. It shouldn't be this complicated of an application process when the product it's trying to simulate (ceramic coating) seems much simpler. I went back to using bead maker and collinite, where the application process was way more forgiving and performed way better.

    Just a suggestion but if your product has hydrophobic properties then why would water make a difference? Next time just try a bit of quick detailer with the removal. Haven't tried this product so I cannot comment on it but if you haven't tried hydrocharge and you were looking for an actual ceramic coating , try it . Hydroslick is their attempt of making a wax that acts like a ceramic so its a weird product to begin with
