Sweet Emmy, you and Paul have become dear friends, even though we have never met! I look so forward to your channel. Loving both your enthusiasm for life and frugal living. You motivate me every week! That is a gift. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
Emmy, My quilting tip for getting stains out is, soaking the spots in hydrogen peroxide. Works on old quilts. I also am drawn to those old tablecloths. Sometimes I sew them together to make a quilt back for quilts. Just another way to love those tablecloths.❤️
You are such a joy! Love that tablecloth, and I will definitely use that formula for stains! I work/ co- manage a great church resale and we get a lot of linens stained like that and we put in the freebies! Bless you!
Oh the tablecloth is fabulous!! The colors are so bright!! What a joy to see it brought to life and for you to use it. I collect vintage table clothes...and use them! I probably have 20....all thrift store acquired over a 40 yr period. I know people don't use them much anymore but they really set a table off for enjoying meals. I have never used oxy...but I will be getting some this week for sure. Always a pleasure to see both of you living your best life!
Thanks so much R N! Just do a test patch first. I spent a $1 so I was willing to take a gamble. Just don't want a linen of yours to not be colorfast and get ruined! Thanks for being here!
Those recipes looked delicious! I love to create my own dishes, too, out of what I have. Fabulous tablecloth! That's amazing! The figurine on your shelf behind you of two ladies, one in pink and one in yellow--my mother had the same, but in blue and green. She had a 3 tiered pie stand she put figurines on in the living room. I loved all of them, but especially those ladies! I've almost always felt like I wasn't born in the right "age," but I figure God knows what He's doing! 😊
Emmy, I was inspired by your Zero Waste Food Challenge. I cleaned out my freezer today. I found a cup of cranberries and some orange zest in the freezer. I made a dozen muffins with them and they came out great! I cut the cranberries in half so they don't explode in the oven.
So much fun! I love vintage table linens and furnishings as well! Thanks for sharing the Oxi tip! Your no waste food tips inspire me to do better with my leftovers. Thank you for all you do!
Loved the crouton idea! Gluten free croutons are so expensive I never buy them, I didn't think to use the heels of gf bread. Can't wait to try it! Keep sharing your wonderful ideas :)
The dessert looks delicious. Thank you for the linen tip to get stains out. I have seen linens at estate sales and now will purchase and try your suggestion!
A frugal alterative dessert if you don't have any bananas is to freeze the pudding and Graham cracker like an icecream sandwich. Some people even like the addition of marshmallow fluff.
Oh, Emmy, thank you so much for that dessert. My husband is a diabetic with a sweet tooth which makes desserts a challenge. I've used sugar free puddings but never kicked them up. This will be a big surprise for him. Can't wait. Will use the oxy-clean method for general stain removal. Enjoy the holiday.
Thank you so much for your wonderful video and inspiration! I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I can't agree with you more on your attitude. Making do with what you have and being creative with that and enjoying marvelous results. Love of abundance and quality for low prices. Seeking out unorthodox solutions and applying ingenuity and care. Such a thrill everything turned out so amazing, that is so rewarding, isn't it. Items of days gone buy are charming and well-made, and your tablecloth bargain is a unique beauty. How satisfying to use it on your table and knowing about your triumph every time you look at it. Greetings from Germany
Hi Emmy and Paul Here is another pudding dessert that is so simple, and delicious, 1 package of Vanilla Instant Pudding mix the pudding with one cup of milk, 1teaspoon almond extract, and 1 cup of fresh whipped cream, mix together take some lady finger cookies and cut them in thirds and fit them into the bottom of your individual dessert glasses put 1/2 cup of the mix and put into your dishes(4) and any left over on top and add a ladyfinger to the top on an angle. Enjoy... Everyday is the same when you are ancient, lol
Love the table cloth. I have a few I inherited which were hand embroidered, they are now coming out of the drawer to be used and admired. Great video, thank you xx
That is such a good tip about the tablecloth! I have several vintage tablecloths that I thought were ruined, and now there is hope! Thank you again for inspiring us to not waste food. I love how you are so creative with what you have! Happy 4th of July to you all too!!!
This table cloth is so beautiful.❤ I love vintage table clothes, too. My tip for old bread is home made breading for meat or fish, when you will make it in a pan. Send you greetings🙋♀️
@@FrugalMoneySaver Good morning dear Emmy. Thank you! Yes, I feel well, again. I have rheumatism ( spondylitis ankylosing) and some times I don't feel good. I have watched your videos, but my fingers were swollen so I could not write or tap very good. I have crashed my handy as it was fallen on the stone floor out of my swollen hands. But: now it goes forward! 😊😊Have a nice day!
My frugal journey is recent after making so many mistakes. Recently we went on vacation to see my sister and her family. I see them making so many of the same mistakes that we made raising our children. 2 car payments, multiple trips to get coffee/tea during the day, eating out, incredible food waste etc. I want to say something but I kept my mouth shut. I spent more $ at Dunkin Donuts in 3 days than I’ve spent in a year! I’m kicking myself for wasting $ but I’m going to chalk it up to vacation expenses and learn from the experience.
I don’t have a airfryer but will make them. We are not in a heat wave. Just the opposite. 20 degrees cloudy. Yesterday we had a wall cloud of rain. Those are bad dump 3 inches of rain that floods and a tornado in the high plains of Colorado. Glad the first treatment and wash took the stains out. My daughter is a sixties era and I’m loving the fifties era. Enjoy your videos. Have a great 4th of July to you and Paul. God bless.
Loved seeing the beautiful flowers. Woman after my own heart! I freeze any leftover bread pieces for bread crumbs and croutons. Good job on the tablecloth!
Hi Paul behind the camera & tablecloth 🤗🤗 awe, Dixie is precious 💕💕 great, easy dessert and how beautiful the tablecloth turned out....kudos! Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸🇺🇸
❤Dixie!! Great idea about the tablecloth!! I have a vintage one that I couldnt bear to cut up ...gonna try this idea. Also enjoyed the meal ideas.....going to try the tortellini salad. Thanku!!
I usually use up my stale bread to make bread pudding, or even stuffing. I never buy the already cubed dry bread for my stuffing. I also keep blue Dawn with my laundry detergent. Just a squirt, and it will take out practically every stain I have. But I will keep in mind the Oxyclean and sunshine idea.

Thanks, Emmy and Paul! More great ideas. I never thought to do the homemade croutons in the air fryer! LOVE your table cloth! Similar to one I have that belonged to my beloved Grandma. Thank you for taking the chance using the OxyClean. I was always afraid I would ruin the color on it, so I strategically placed the serving bowls on top of the stains! I love your "feminine" style. I've been told my whole life I am an old soul. So thankful to have found you! Praying God blesses you and your family with a safe and happy July 4th! ❤
I love the table cloth!! I feel like I was born in the wrong era as well. I feel like I should’ve lived in the 30’s-50’s! The music, the clothes...❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely LOVE the tablecloth and oxiclean is a go to in my house! I've been making my own homemade laundry detergent for years and I add oxiclean to it as a stain remover. As for your home decor.......it's beautiful! Happy 4th!
I think Dixie agrees with all things "food,." because she always tells us while you are cooking. lol Happy Anniversary! (belated) You did a great job with that tablecloth. I also put rectangle tablecloths on round tables and vice versa. I love vintage tableclothes too. I have some I bought on Ebaby several years ago and also a couple that were my mom's. Have a great July 4th weekend ((hugs))
Emmy, you are so creative in using up leftovers or food that needs to be used before it goes bad. Everything always looks so delicious. I love how you elevate simple dishes to make them like gourmet meals. You know, I remember in the 60's, before the invention of Pampers, most of the housewives would leave their cloth diapers soaked in Rinso in the sun for a few hours before washing them. Then they would wash and hang them on the line in the sun. The women believed that the sun got out the stains and sanitized the diapers too. Judging from your tablecloth, I guess they must have known a thing or two.
Sometimes, the best things you make are from the bits left in the fridge. It's a unique challenge and where recipes really come from. Thanks for your channel Emmy and all the work you and Paul put into it!
I love vintage linens and am go glad to have this technique to use. There is no such thing as feminine decor. What ever brings you joy should be in your home. Sending love! 💜
Hi Amy and Paul, this table cover restoration project was a total hit.Great.Will try your recipe of cold salad with those bread croutons.A very happy 4July weekend.Enjoy yourself, would love to join you.It is so hot here in India, simply burning.Lots of love to your bundle of joy,Dixie darling, muuuuaaaah
Em, I stopped the video, went and got my favorite shirt that had gotten splashed with some cooking oil, heated up the water, scoop of oxyclean, and put it out on the patio. I didn't even wait to see your outcome. I'll let you know how it turns out. I believe vintage does mean quality and if it happens to be something you like besides, you're that much ahead of the game.
If you splatter grease, put talcum powder on the splatters over night and then wash as usual. The grease should come out. If something is polyester and you get ball point ink on it, spray with hair spray net and the ink should disappear.
Hello from Connecticut I really enjoy your videos I am like you I use everything I have in the fridge and make different types of meals, your videos make me happy you are always smiling and it’s contagious after a hard night at work is great to see someone smiling even if it’s on videos, keep up the good work have a wonderful weekend
You know these use up what you have are my favorites!!! Now to remember that just because I saw Emmy use up her leftover pieces, mine are still in my fridge and I need to go do the same!! Oh, and happy Anniversary!!! 💕 🎉
I love the kindness and ingenuity of your channel. Time to clean out the fridge and make some crockpot veggie soup. It's 98 here in MT, almost unheard of temperature. I can freeze the soup and have no waste. That tablecloth is amazing. One person's trash is another person's treasure. Guess I'm saving for an air fryer next. I use my heels for meatloaf.
Love that tablecloth and how well the oxyclean works! Love the cooking tips! Great channel. I love when I see a post from you and Paul. Happy July 4th from Canada!
I love practicing zero waste. Maybe it makes me a dork but i love using the very last bit of something or saving veggie scraps to make broth knowing i have gotten the very last penny's worth of value for my hard earned. money. In my house everything must work double. Celery and green onions get regrown scraps get remade into broth everything is used twice in my house I try to make that a rule
I forgot to say I have not used my air fryer YET. Can you imagine? Remember when I got it from your link? I am a little intimidated by if for some reason. But I got an air fryer cookbook and will start using it. First up will be french fries. :) Give Dixie a big MUAH from me!
Oh my goodness! I collect vintage tablecloth’s and certain textiles too. I’ll definitely use your idea on some of mine. I love any time honored relics thanks 💜
Thank you Kathleen! Just do a test patch first. I spent a $1 so I was willing to take a gamble. Just don't want a linen of yours to not be colorfast and get ruined!
Thanks for this Emmy!!! I have several of my grandmother’s tablecloths from the 40s & 50s & they are quite stained (as this one was) so I never use them. I think next time I go to the Dollar store I’ll have to get some of their Oxi-Clean & try it on one to see if it works. If so, I’ll do the rest of them! Great video & great tips! Your recipe looked awesome!
Very timely!! I just found a gorgeous vintage table cloth yesterday and was wanting to clean it. I usually use BIZ detergent but can no longer find it. I love that tablecloth find!! It is stunning!! My love of vintage linen is so happy for you!! Great idea for that dessert, Emmy. I love how you are such a good pan scraper!! My pet peeve in TV and TH-cam chefs that leave so much in the bowl!
Belated Happy Anniversary, Paul and Emmy. And Happy Independence Day, too. I’m sure you’ll have a great get-together. Great restoration of that vintage tablecloth. Earlier this morning, I used 8 overripe bananas to make two loaves of banana bread for my best friend. She is a frequent recipient of banana bread I make and just had a total knee replacement on Tuesday. She’s recovering very well.
Happy anniversary. Thank you for being you. We live in a throw away society. People act like you're crazy for trying to fix or save something. Its just sad. Happy 4th of July.

Rex then I am dork too lol! I agree with you and your use it twice rule!
This was great. Happy 4th of July be safe!
Thanks! You too Sandra!
Happy anniversary 💐. Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸. Great video 😀.
Thanks so much!!
Amy and Paul i did the Ice Cream bread it tasted just like little bit of scones but was ok with cream cheese so ❤❤❤❤😅😅😅😅🎉
Glad you liked it!
I forgot to say I have not used my air fryer YET. Can you imagine? Remember when I got it from your link? I am a little intimidated by if for some reason. But I got an air fryer cookbook and will start using it. First up will be french fries. :) Give Dixie a big MUAH from me!
LOL Sis it's time to try it! Now the stupid InstantPot scares me...
@@FrugalMoneySaver Oh...the instantpot... now that is something I have no desire to have. And my crockpots would be highly insulted! 😀.
Thank you for making this video. Have a Safe & Happy 4th!
Thank you! You too Rebecca!
Just love you Emmy. I am just like you😊
😊 Thank you so much Kathy!!
Whats a great wideo,you Are lovely♥️♥️
You are so kind Elin! Thanks so much!
Thanks Karen! Happy Blessed day to you, Danny, and Rex!!
Love the color of your blouse!
Thanks so very much!
Susan mine too!!! LOL!! I'm always thinking they are wasting soooo much batter!!
I love air fryer!
Oh my gosh me too! So much!
What a blessing you are! That is so kind of you! Great way to use up those yummy ripe bananas!
Hi. That table cloth would make a lovely scarf in winter !!!
Amira thank you! Have a lovely weekend!
Happy anniversary. Thank you for being you. We live in a throw away society. People act like you're crazy for trying to fix or save something. Its just sad. Happy 4th of July.
Thanks so very much Billie! Appreciate you being here!
Wonderful video. Have a safe and fun July 4th💕🇺🇲
