I miss the old days. So nostalgic. I remember the summer of 96, sitting at home playing this, 9 year old me, daydreaming as if they world around me was the game. Brings me so much joy to see it again.

As far as I remember, you could get to the Front Door of Bowser’s Castle in the fastest way possible by finding these Exits in this order. 1: Yoshi’s Island 2 2: Yoshi’s Island 3 3: Yoshi’s Island 4 4: Iggy’s Castle 5: Secret Exit In Donut Plains 1 6: Secret Exit In Donut Secret 1 7: Secret Exit In The Donut Secret House 8: Secret Exit In Star World 1 9: Secret Exit In Star World 2 10: Secret Exit In Star World 3 11: Secret Exit In Star World 4
Right now, I have this playing as some nostalgic background noise while I work. I played it as a kid but back then never knew/ got to all the secret levels, buttons, and areas. So I’m getting distracted from work every time I see something I don’t recognize! 😂
My big brother has that game along time ago. In fact, the other level involving friendly dolphins is easy, especially jumping on a puffer fish when Mario rides on Yoshi.
I saw a video that explained why Super Mario World was a lot easier than Mario 3. Super Mario World, however was a fresh start. They knew a lot of folk would be coming into it as their first game, where as Mario 3 was a progression of Mario 1 and 2 (Lost Levels Mario 2, not the Mario 2 we got in the West). So they didn't want to alienate new players by making the first Mario game on the SNES fucking way too difficult. So yeah.... I completely completed Super Mario World. All exits found. Where as Mario 3, I couldn't even get past World 6 (in a non-flute playthrough).

I bought a refurbished NES and SNES that both work like new. Cant wait for this game to be delivered on Saturday...I know what I'll be doing that night lol

How convenient for Yoshi,that he seemingly can't go into a ghosthouse or any of the castles with Mario(or Luigi),including Bowser's. Why could that be? Yoshi's too good or too important to accompany his sidekick in the more dangerous levels? One can only guess.
Like most have said in the comments, this was also my first video game. Do you know how many tries it took me to unlock soda lake? I didn't realize you could do it the way that you did. I have always flown from the half way mark, then dive-bombed below the end of the stage, and pumped back up.
you know if in any of these versions you can make a path from donut plains 2 to secret donut 1 and back, a friend knew how to do it but I don't remember how to do the trick
Sometimes I look into the soundtrack for this game, to listen to while I fall asleep or whatever... but it just doesn't feel 'right' without the abrupt shifts caused by changing levels, or the sounds of the player running around and doing stuff in game.

We lost the AV cord t the snes. Or the part that connects to the TV. We are considering buying a new one to play this ONE game
