what a wonderful thing you do for me personally. You take me places I didnt know existed and only know of because of the effort you make to show them. Thanks just doesnt seem like enough.
I have to admit: from the thumbnail, I got in my e-mail and the movie length it showed, I thought this was some sort of preview for a "normal" railway video. I am pleasantly surprised! Thank you!
Interesting to see the inclined pulleys that they use to keep the cable from going straight when on the curved track. It also looks like it was a funicular at one time, with a little passing place for the second car. Swiss person: *looks at mountain* You know, I bet I could build a railway up to the top of that...
This wonderful ride down Tessenbergbahn sort of rounded off my trip to Neuchatel in the late 70's to visit F Dürrenmath and reconoiter the area of activities in the novel of "Der Richter und sein Henker" in the Hotel Bären in Twann and up the hill in Lamboig. Thanks a lot from the lorilocks-enthusiastic old guy from Germany.:-) Herb.
Delightful cab ride with a difference! You only realise what the gradient actually is when you realise that you're going down to the lake that's so far below at the beginning. Was it originally a funicular, looks like there was a passing loop halfway, but now presumably there's a winding engine at the top.
One of the shortest and steepest crossings of a language border in Switzerland! The village of Ligerz is 90% German speaking, and the village at the top of the line, Prêles, is 65% French speaking. I guess enough German speakers have migrated up the mountain to dilute the French speakers a little.
Fantastic views.
Brilliant video! Nice to see a funicular for a change!
Thanks, yes I'm hoping to do more of these
@@lorirocks777 Cool, I'll look forward to seeing them!
Just filmed the longest one in Switzerland.. :-) .. I'll be uploading it int the coming months

Amicalement.
Looks lovely and a bit spooky, I bet there are werewolves on the track at night, if you see one, pretend not to notice
=D
Very enjoyable and different and the cable car ride explains the short video !
