★ 4K 🇨🇭 Kerzers - Lyss cab ride, Switzerland [09.2022] Führerstandsmitfahrt

- In this video, we're revisiting a rural line we've seen before in rainy weather on the journey from Vallorbe to Interlaken (link: • ★ 4K 🇨🇭Cab ride Vallor... ). The line links the intersection at Kerzers in the canton of Fribourg with Lyss in the canton of Bern. Lyss is a city along the railway connection between Biel/Bienne and Bern.
Just before Lyss, we'll pass through Aarberg, one of Switzerland two large sugar production hubs (the other being in Frauenfeld).
What I personally appreciate is the fact that most of the original catenary posts from 1944 are still in use. The old rolling stock parked shortly before Kallnach (9:05) is also interesting.

Thanks for showing this route again, this time in sunny weather - as I said under the other video, this particular stretch is full of memories for me as I used to do summer farm work in the fields next to the line between Kerzers and Fräschels, long before the butterfly centre was a thing - thank you once more \m/

On a sunny autumn morning here in Australia, a glorious soothing Swiss train trip. Is that dense crop we passed, on the right. sugar beet? Thanks, as ever.
On the first part of this route a electric power distribution grid line follows the path of the railway on what looks like railway property. This is also visible in a lot of areas of Switzerland and is a good idea for access and routing. I thing they where built in the late 1900's/early 2000 when the whole grid was updated.. Was there special wagons to carry and deliver the long poles and cross beams to site by rail? A lot of railside sub stations have short rail sidings now severed from the main lines but some of the equipment is still rail mounted.

Bei der super Bildqualität des Videos fühlt man sich mitten im Geschehen und fühlt sich ganz dabei zu sein. Am Schluss des Videos kommt mir dann auch der Gedanke beim Aussteigen aus dem Zug, ob ich auch mein ganzes Gepäck zu mir genommen hab und nichts vergessen habe😄
