Hi Richard, Very nice skiing ... watching your tricks and energy makes me feel very old ... but it does put a smile on my face. (I'm 72 years old but I'm still improving my skiing :) )
Go ahead Tony!. Richard; Ich wäre froh dass du auf Deutsch reden würdest. Mein german is better than english, or spanish?. A mexican girl in love with CH Walliser Bergen!. Txs Richard!. 🇨🇭🇲🇽
I like what you suggest to all bored skiers. personally, I always believed that skiing supposed to be fun, not a rigid way of doing same movements over and over again. Thanks a lot for binging it up and showing more enjoyable way of skiing and having fun while doing it !!!! Have fun people !!!!!
The explosive technique is really important - it’s effectively slalom racing around invisible gates. I always do this for at least half of every run. You get so much more out of the run, and you improve your strength, which improves endurance, so you stop being limited by your physical capability, and you are just thinking about the Skiing. It also takes me back to my days racing on straight edge skis in the 80’s and 90’s! This was a great video, a really different take on a tuition video. Well done mate, loved it!
I don't know what's it's called, but I'm skiing in the classic style of my dad, who has been a skier for 70 years (and still skiing). Been skiing 35 years myself. It's a very smooth, beautiful style with the skies very close together. Looking forward to my annual ski vacation in a week!!!
Reminds of my dad 72 year old dad. I am a good skier but I haven't succeeded in copying his technique. Which seems really unique at this point. Maybe its called wedeln but without those very short turns.
Thanks for the inspiration! 👏🥰 You are awesome! I only ski 1-2 weeks per year, but have done that, since I was 10, ( now 45) sometimes you ned to see things like this to get ready for the ski-week 🤩 I’ll do my best to have fun ⛷❄️ 😁
Wow. AWSOME skiing and very inspiring. Loved the explosive bit that went from skiing kind of chilled to suddenly bending the knees and skiing more aggressively.
Damn. I've only been skiing for 39 years but you've given me decades more happy "work" to do! Skiing is incredibly gratifying as I witness my sons now starting to overtake me!
Well you're a lot of fun thanks for the tips! I started practicing those hard Carve Drifts in June, and pretty sure that newly honing that skill saved me catching an edge and landing in the tree well. I has hanging off that tree well's edge instead! Totally agree the freestyle skills will be of much aid in the trees, moguls, etc. Send IT!
Yes! Good tips and fun tricks. Love that positive energy and sense of fun. I’m 66 and still learning, but that fun is what it is all about. And, yeah, the camera work was good. Thanks, Richard, for this video!1
Point taken Guy, We will take a look at our schedule and see if we can fit this topic into our schedule this season! In the meantime, this video may be of use to you: th-cam.com/video/ElOhJyNPjUE/w-d-xo.html Have a great winter!
Never skied a day in my life, It looks a lot like dancing(which I love) This looks like fun, I'm going to take lessons this upcoming season. Thank you for this video!
Thank you for this! I can't express how much bending your knees and driving the skis. This takes practice like you mentioned. I've been practicing those euro carve spray to fakie. At speed they are so much fun. I gotta try some of those sweed turns. Dude, you are awesome! You're also on those head racing skis and making switch easy. When you pop 180 are you popping off your lead foot?
Hola Richard, soy Javier de ARGENTINA, Te Felicito por tu video!!!!! Realmente me parecen los mejores tips que he visto !!!!! lo importante es divertirse, definitivamente es así
Biggest take away: Have fun and play, you will learn from it. Who is learning the most and fastest on the hill and in general life? Children! What do they do? Plays and have fun.
Hi! First images nice! I can make 360° on place on foot very easy. But can’t make even 180° on skis. It’s strange. What can you advise to learn? Is it really hard to make 180° when still standing and it will be easier when in move?
I have never tried while standing still. You could try walking your skis around and skiing backwards first. I have found controlling the ski in reverse is harder than performing the 180.
I’m ready to book a flight and sign up for your class! So impressive and I love the positivity and joy in your actions and words. Thanks for the amazing show and keep having fun! Ciao from Sun Valley, Idaho.
zermatt FTW !!! This video still is a bit discouraging however... the amount of skills showcased by Richard is totally out-of-this-world... you don't get your ticket to the Swiss Demo team by screwing around, though! :D
Hi Richard. i’m Japanese skier, who used to ski A LOT but didn’t for a long long time. Restarted a few years ago and found your video. A big fun of yours now, trying to ski like you some day before getting too old. One thing from Japanese native about your auto translation. 0:34 You said “You are like an artist or like a dancer” but the Japanese translation is “autistic or dancer.” i bet this isn’t your intention but no Japanese audience would be happy with that. i just don’t want other Japanese to misunderstand you. Would you like to replace it for artist or delete the whole translation? Either would be fine. I would like to continue to watch this video and others from you!!
Hey Henry, We've made a few updates to the Ski:IQ™ algorithm this season to ensure that if you throw in the odd 'inside ski bobsled turn' your score will not be jeopardised 😎 Have an awesome winter ⛷
We should also thank for the cameraman who keep such good distance and stability which result in such incredible footage.
Thanks for the feedback Kun!
We'll do our best to keep the good quality footage coming ✌️
Agreed. Impressive skills!
Imagine how he must be skiing:))))
that is so sick camera work.
Indeed awesome camera work...just like Willy Bogner in 007!!
Can we also acknowledge that this guy is doing all of this on a race ski. Way to go!!
We're also impressed!
Thanks for watching ⛷
Those skis are a little short for racing. It looks like a firm carving ski to me.
@@theBear89451 a a slalom race ski, it's supoosed to be short.

I don't know how others but my style while skiing is to turn and break the speed to not die.
Hi Richard, Very nice skiing ... watching your tricks and energy makes me feel very old ... but it does put a smile on my face.

I'm 74 and I'll do like you... Enjoy!..
so nice knowing skiing is such a varied sport, practiced by so many different people in so many different age groups
Hey OG I'm 52 and I'm improving my skiing too, great to hear there's still more to learn 20 yrs from now!

Smooth stuff !!
I'm buying head magnum supershape ski and interested if these tricks can work out on that or it requires specific freestyle ski ?
Well, he's doing all that on a race ski, so with enough training you'll get this on any ski.
Love your skills ✌️
Thanks for the feedback Beni!
Richard is truly a master of style on snow 😍

As a carv user I don't think Carv will give a high Ski IQ for the explosive style 😅 🤪
