Hi Jens, just wanted to mention that yesterday I tried your tips on making nice 360 (fully extending arms sideways and bringing them in for good rotation) and managed to do my first __10__ 360 in a row! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
Fantastic! Well done :D

@@Stumashedpotatoes Bad ass skier alert: pulled out ten 360 in a row! :P

Something I don’t think you mentioned but is also a good point. Learning to do these maneuvers also improves your control of skis and also your confidence. If you get in a hairy situation it allows for more flexibility and comfort getting out of them if you have more “tricks” in your arsenal. And also stops moments of panic if you willingly put yourself in “uncomfortable” maneuvers for when they happen unexpectedly.
I personally have always liked just going down groomers on one ski. People used to ask why and I didn’t really have a good answer. Then one day I caught an edge going quite fast and was thrown off balance onto one ski and was still able to maintain control and slow down. Always good to build control in any way you can think of because you never know where you might end up.
I couldn't agree more. I was passing through some shaded moguls in June with caution, when I caught an edge and got spun. Without thinking I just went with it and slammed the brakes with a nice Uphill Carve, and found myself stopped on boot edges on the lip of a good sized tree well. I do believe this newly attained skill saved my ass from that tree well! I've found doing slope spins helps when you get spun out in moguls or pow, and have been working on increasing my 1-ski speed, and totally agree with the more tricks in the bag the better. Stomp It Bro!
Congrats to the cameraman. This was lovely shot!!!
Also nice editing and great day to be out skiing!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
These tricks are so fun when skiing, thank you for the tricks.
Yes, this is exactly what I needed. I really enjoy carving on the race skis, and I'd like to think I'm pretty good at it. But often I find myself in company of people who wish to go to smaller slopes or slower speeds, and it might get boring. I don't want to spend a whole day on blunt-edged park skis either. These are perfect for learning something exciting to challenge myself and keep things interesting while on any slope on the stiff skis is perfect. Thank you Jens!
Have fun doing it :)
Modern park skis can carve nicely
У самого redster S9 slalom. Думал они не подходят для начала во фристайле. Хотел уже покупать твинтипы. Спасибо, что показали, что это можно делать на спортивных слаломных лыжах!
That`s fantastic, make carving great again!
Thank you, I will try :)
I can't believe i never thought of doing this. Looks like so much fun!
This guys passion for skiing really shows in the videos!! love it
Your content is so quality. Super helpful and entertaining. Thank you.
This is 1 of the first videos I watched by you all. Shifty and butters aren't necessarily easy bro ha! I've watched this many times and still can't get enough. Doing the Air edge shift in the flats is fun but tiring, but it's very gratifying too. Off the rollers, well SWEET!. It actually helps watching this after some time has passed. I didn't even know what a shifty was 3 months ago. I've seen it live now, and it's sweet, especially when someone pops a quick 1 in the flats at the bottom of the run. So I'm appreciating much more now that shifty into the the edge shift. Really sick move. Mabey next season. You the man Jens!
def going to try some of these today
Your video quality has really improved over the years. Props to you!
Style = 11/10. Amazing video, tricks, presentation!
Wooo! Snow mustache!
Love the fact that you have fully commited to race skis, I found them so underrated.
Just some times. Great fun :)
Shaa shaa shaaaaa! Fantastiche Jens! Fun as always. Thanks.
Awesome videos! Thx for sharing those tricks.
Nice Video Jens, as always. :) I personally would love to see an in depth video on 540s & 720s, just bigger spins in general. I've made good progress thanks to your videos, now my goal is to stomp a big 720 with a grab this season. Your step-by-step approach and drills always help making the correct technique a habit and getting confident and consistent. Thanks for putting this information out for free!
Noted! Maybe there are just so few skiers who wants that level of tutorials even if Id like to make it :)
Love seeing you shred on the race skis!!
I love being on them even if im holding on for dear life as im by no means a FIS racer
Thanks for the tips! Will definitely practice them✌️⛷
These are the best ski tutorials on youtube. Thanks for your content
nice one !
The drift into a carve is steezy! Nice one Jens.
Thank you for being the Steezy skier friend we all need
Thanks for making these videos, you e helped me become a better skier. I really enjoy your content!
Wow I'm wordless!
Not sure what I love more, the spicy tricks or the spicy accent!
Love the orange coat!
Awesome Video 🔥
Can't wait to try these!
Tomorrow, hopefully
Good luck!

That's cool!
Hey Jens, Absolutely love your videos. You are a most charming and effective instructor. I havent skied i over 30 years but your vids have given me the itch to get back to it. Love your use of technology, your enthusiasm and humor and your love of skiing comes through. Your cameraman is fantastic! Here’s one problem though. You should sign on and off all your videos with your name and cameramans name. You probably don’t because of modesty but you reallyshould. Thanks for all the great work you’ve done. Be well
Thank you very much sir that is much appriciated. My name is Jens Nyström and Carlos Ortola is behind the camera :) instagram.com/ortovideopics/
Haha, love edge changing in the air. Am getting on a fair bit now, and still hit the park and the big jumps, but don't spin much if ever anymore. But going 16M kicker and hard carve in large travel and shifty to landing on the other edges and carving out never loses it's appeal 🙂
Hi there Jens. Just found your videos. Great stuff, great tips. I’ll try your fun tricks in Japan in Jan 2024👍. Keep up the good work with you videos. Thanks again mate👍👍
Great video! Footage looks so amazing to
Thanks so much!
I love your style. You seem like such a nice guy with a good sense of humor. Love the vids.
Thank you :)
Youre quite funny, thanks for the vid. I can slide very well in between the carves and like to jump a lot, (just forward) but never picked up the shifty move. This will help thanks!
Thanks sm
fun!
thank you Jens. such a lovely day for recording and skiing
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome soundtrack btw
Curious what audio setup you have for filming these videos? It's always top notch! Love the videos and the channel. Keep up the awesome content!
Great video. Thanks from London 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
Thanks for watching!
I think this is THE best youtube Video i've ever seen. The vibe that it is giving off is craaazy. Keep it up dude!!
Wow, thank you!
I used to ski as a kid, I was always out of control but I loved it. You can go so fast on ski's. I switched to snowboarding at about 13 years and years ago but would love to give skiing another go at some point just for the speed.
Hey, you're me! I just picked up skiing again like you. So much fun... I won't say it's more fun that snowboarding but what a challenge. Skis rule on icy conditions. nice to relearn how to ride the bike.
I skied just before covid and I am obsessed now.
Nice! I learned some cool tricks and some Swedish. Thanks
Happy to help!
Awesome filming
Agree, Carlos smashed it :D
Tack för tricker

FULLLL BALANCED FUULL BALANCEEED!!!!
Sweet
This video is so visually beautiful to look at. The colour of your Jacket in contrast to the mountains and sky looks great. I will be buying a sunset yellow/orange ski jacket now.
Also, great explanation of those tricks. I will be trying a few of those next month.
Thank you
Love your videos man... you'd be a fun guy to ski with.
Thank you. Im struggle to keep up with my online persona I think :)
shiftie is my goal for this season! :) Need to work on being more comfortable with speed. Seems like I really don't like not being able to stop, any ideas?
Practise stopping. Do lots of hockey stops and flat slopes to as steep as you can find.
also don’t rush the shiftie, make sure you’re stable in the air before turning your skis. And of course don’t forget to bring them back before landing
@@StompItTutorials thanks for the reply! I have no problem ripping it on piste, but something about being in chopped snow / bumps off piste makes me pull the speed brake! I think I'm terrfied of tearing my ACL - I have 4 friends who've torn theirs
@@tommylynch7887 Thanks! Went on a "be comfortable in the air" mission yesterday. Filmed myself dropping a number of baby cliffs and went over a ton of step-up jumps. I realize that when I think I'm going huge, I'm barely getting any air!
That fifth trick looks like so much fun to do on my snowblades! Three weeks to go!
Have fun!
Great video! This tutorial helped me a lot! The ambulance is on the way...
Nice cinematic video! Insane arm control of the skier!
Thanks a lot!
Super!
Thank you! Cheers!
I need to join one of the camps soon :)
See you then!
Requesting a video on easy tricks that you can learn in local park, in the flat or short and shallow slope!
Great idea!
instructions unclear, I'm in the hospital now
Rip
Shwommmm
It will be a l-ooooo-ng time before I can do it, but it is fun to watch!
Im sure you can do the upphill drift next time you go ski :)
Крутой канал и райдер!😉
This is the 3rd year in a row that I'm watching your videos. I would love to skii with u someday. Is there a camp organized or something? *I am finally 18 so I can travel on my own now hehe
Jens I'd love to see you try slalom skiing with those redsters! I feel like you could easily get the hang of it
I would like to see that too :)
Hiya. Maybe you could give some advice...
I'd say I'm novice skier as in past years I just had total of maybe 3 hours of lessons (since scratch/complete novice) on silly 300-500m 'slopes' in my region. Just before covid in 2020 managed and we had 1st ski trip to Austria - which was great, but I really ran first looooong boring blue slope, then one above harder but still blue. Finished trip with first major red highway - straight down, not really hard.
This year just came back from my secondary trip - this time Italy. Had great start, was running ALL sloped, blue and black, slow and cautious of course but no problems and LOT OF FUN. Took there 1h lesson and seems minor mistakes, just need to exercise and add miles on my account.
Question about equipment - as you're linking beautiful skis.
If I'm still considering myself as beginner/intermediate, only running prepared slopes - worth to think about my own skis? Allround or something like what you linked? Or just don't bother yet and get equipment from rental, as I did so far? I'm definitely not planning any time trials or anything competitive, just for pleasure of riding.
I love sharp edge changing in the air on moguls and in trees, i call it jump turning
I wish the ski resorts where I live were so smooth

Loved the video and I am excited to try them out!! I am also wondering where u r from, first I was thinking Australia 🇦🇺 but then Switzerland 🇨🇭 and now France. So, tell me where are you from??
Jäklar vad skidsugen jag blev nu!
Just visited Laax, pists are amazing with hundreds of rollers. Felt like a bunny
Haha best feeling.
I was just wondering, since I don’t have my own skis but I love trying things like this, what type of skis I should be renting? Or what to look for..
I want to start with doing more tricks while skiing. Could you guys recommend particular skies to buy, or should these things be possible with all skies
What size skis do you recommend to start doing tricks? I have 180” all mountain and they feel way too big for tricks
Holly *&(^&^@ that Mammut jacket is lit!
Glad you liked it!!
Do you recommend carving skis for this tutorial? What width underfoot 80 - 85mm? Love the vids, thx 🤘
I had know idea you were swedish. Älskar videorna👍
Tackar och Bockar :)
skiing is like flowing in a matrix
Haha
Yesterday I just stomped my first 180 on a small jump. Thanks for the tips
You got this!

Hi Jens, im in the hospital now, love your vids though! :D
Exhilarating to watch YOU do these tricks Jens.
Two questions please:
ett/ Where are you filming this?
två/ What make/model boot are you wearing.
Tack för dessa fantastiska videos.
1 Laax, Switzerland mostly under the La Siala gondola.
2 Atomic Hawx Ultra 130. Carefull 130 may be too stiff for you! It comes in a more wide version too if 98mm is to narrow for you.
Det var så lite.
I have skied only 4 times in my whole life since 2011. Im pretty sure im gonna land with my skies crossed while performing shifty up the hill and crash. Gonna update you guys in a month how it ended.
toppp
Hey! Which type of ski and length are suitable for tricks. What are you using?
Hello How many times you injured on ski before you learn so much on them ? what kind of ski you recomended for that fun ?
7:04 "it's gonna lead to *instant death*" 😂
Can you do these tricks on any skis do you think? Great video thank you.
Yes you can!
hey! i was watching the ski technique camps and wondered what is the difference between the indermediate ones and the regular ones? thanks
There is now only one type of ski technique camp which is Intermediate.
Belles figures, assez classiques dans les années 90. Une question, pourquoi mettre le ski droit à gauche et inversement ? Ces spatules asymétriques sont là pour éviter d’enfourcher les portes en slalom.
Me personally if I feel like having a in woods or “fun” day on the slopes I will just leave my poles behind. I think it’s just a hassle on the jumps and weaving through trees to have another thing to look out for and I have my hand just in case
Hi Jens, what are you thinking of those skis(I'm assuming Atomic redster s9 fis)? Just bought them and am excited to try them out next week!! How well do they work for long turns? I also have a pair of cheater GS skis im thinking of bringing, but i'm not sure they'll do the trick any better.
They are freaking intense as they turn crazy quick. However fantastic fun.
I am wondering, what are those "pointy" things on the front of the skis for?
Where are you always skiing at? Looks incredible
Laax, Come and ski with us at Stomp It Camps :D /jens
Hej befinner du dig is Sverige med alla dessa videon?? I så fall vilken skidort??? Greetings from Greece ! !
Jag har lärt mig att hoppa, göra manual, göra en 180 och typ göra en 360 på mark. Vad bör jag öva på nu?
Hi Jens - Which model Redsters are you riding here?
