Kind of agree. The best drills just blends in to your skiing. You see a sweet ridge rip it, moguls rip it. Fall over on the inside reminds you to do some one leg skiing to regain outside ski balance.
It's absolutely crazy what he can do with these very stiff, near race-level skis (Atomic X9s). The ski is meant for high speed precision and yet look at Jens play on the ridges! 11:40 I own these skis too and I can't do most of this stuff on them. But I'm going to try all these drills on something else, thanks Jens!
This video is King! 👑 You literally read my mind, these are the things I was planning to practice this upcoming season: Carving, short turns, 360s, Thank you very much!
In the 80's, the definition of a good skiier was one that could make perfect parallel turns with their skiis together and precise pole plants. Mastering edge control makes it easier to progress onto moguls and freestyle IMO.
Great exercises/drills. Skiers will need to be pretty fit to accomplish some of these movements efficiently. Thanks for sharing ! Lots of fun . . . love it !!!
I tested these skis once and I really liked them, but is there any downside to the shorter radius vs a GS ski like the G9 which is seems that most people opt for?
Jens, would you give all of these to skiers that are not good? For example I don't have proper pressure yet and skid more often than carve. The drills looks really interesting though. Especially the hand drag!
For slope spins no. For the forward pressure to guide the ski definatly let the femurs rotate. But try to get the skis to skidd using pressure and just allow the femurs to rotate.
Thanks for sharing theses interesting drills some of which i'd like to try this season. I believe that the No. 10 drill requires prerequisite skill of crossover?
Cross under, to stay low between the turns is helpful but can also be done with a crossover standing a bit more tall at the transition. The prerequisite I would say is to be able to carve.
Go from recreational skier to great at our camps for adults!

Good fundamentals are important for everything in skiing.

Yes, if you want to become good at skiing being a bit fit helps alot.
Great content / video idea. Some of this small stuff is exactly what I needed.
Thank you 🙏🏻 Enjoy the ridges especially its just awesome!
Hej, älskar dina videos
Tack så mycket. 🙏🏻
Twoje instrukcje są cholernie ciekawe 😁
?
@StompItTutorials your instructions are damn interesting 😁
it means that they are very interesting.
well done action man
Thanks :)

Well to get the most out of them you need to ski slower.
Hey, what skis do you use? (Type, brand)
Hey, I use Atomic X9S in this video. Sick ski but probably too too stiff and aggressive for you. Consider something a bit more forgiving like the X7.
Ok, thanks a lot!

Try some of these things first. stompitcamps.com/blogs/skiing/5-reasons-you-re-not-carving-on-skis
Isn't the "hand drag" drill encouraging and/or resulting in too much inside ski pressure vs focusing on pressuring the outside ski more?
That can easily happen. But you can do both. I showed it because its damn fun and most skiers cant achieve particularly high edge angles.
Im a begginer skier. should i get freestyle atomics and if yes what type please
Maybe Bent 90.
Hey for the first drills it always needs the femur bones rotating inside the hip right?
For slope spins no. For the forward pressure to guide the ski definatly let the femurs rotate. But try to get the skis to skidd using pressure and just allow the femurs to rotate.
I learnt to slope spin on one ski, both directions. It gave the most noticeable feeling of better skiing from any drill I’ve tried.
Good to hear. Its awesome.
Recommendation for quality skis at an affordable price please
Second hand skis.
