0:45 that's why he's the best guile, anyone who does standing combinations in the heat of a battle like that is a serious bad ass. And bet of all, the extra light kick did hardly any more damage, but it made the WHOLE THING many times harder and he still did it anyway. That's the different between really and just world class good. Balrog is just an OP monster in ST.
Charge partitioning is technically a type of charge buffer. but charge buffer is about hiding your charge into certain moves. Charge partitioning is is doing a move and getting credit for a charge.
It's done by charge partitioning but inputing standind SHkick on the way up in while doing the knife kick. all charge moves can be taken advantage of this if allowed too.
@JigglyNorris very easy damaging trick. boxer has one of the quickest walk speeds and a good grab range. a walk up grab is very easy to do with boxer because his normals are so good you will have the opponent scared to throw out pokes. muteki didnt fall for a lot of tamashimas tricks, he just guessed wrong once at the end.
You just time the last short for when the stick is neutral for the flashkick motion. You might notice him bobbing his head as he does the combo to keep the proper rhythm. You can actually do it with Sonic Boom as well. Standing short is fully special cancellable, it just takes some practice. Aside from that, I believe it began with j.strong, not short.
So are you saying that with a square gate, your stick feels TOO free within that space? And that the octogate feels better because a groove/corner is never to far away?
i think its a opening thing. the more buttons they press the more opportunities to execute the move, wihout stressing for timing. i think the command goes in when you hit the button and also when you release. try holding down a punch button, then do a fireball with releasing/
he smiles at the end of the match, when he loses....but is not his fault, the buttons should have be burning,or very hot by the way he was pressing them..like "arghh mi fingers melt when i press them...arghh"
I second that. At the end of the day, how can you beat that? Muteki: "Whatever, I'm just gonna go bang my girlfriend. Peace out, I guess." Tamashima: *Rage face*
Meh, I ordered the octogate hoping I could achieve a medium. I think with this I'll be able to lock into a corner (albeit a small one) when playing with say Balrog, without making T. Hawks typhoon to difficult.
I need anyone's advice who plays SF for real with an arcade stick. Should get a square gate or an octogate? I'm so torn between the two right now and I just need some opinions and reasons
It is not charge partitioning at all. What he did was buffer his charge. Essentially what happens is that you hit down to charge flash kick, go into neutral, hit a button and then hit up. The timing is really specific and you can only buffer one standing attack before you have the flashkick. charge paritioning which is only in Third Strike is splitting your charges. So let's say you charge for one second, cancel the charge into say a dash, the dash counts as a charge. con't
To me, I prefer the oct. gate. I like to be able to feel the corners. I've had maybe 3 different arcade sticks and I've always switch to the oct gate and a bat top instead of the ball top.

Kotaka Shoten is not that far off.
just wonderful, i wish every match on youtube was recorded like that
Muteki is still a good sport. He looked serious as hell during the match though.
I've never seen him with a serious, focused facial expression before that. It made me double take.
I thought, I might need several opinions but you made me realize that I was actually leaning towards an octogate all along, lol. Thanks.

I wish the smaller screen was on the left so I could see Tamashima's hands better.
Lol, Otochun and Aniken look funny sitting behind Muteki.

Aniken is the guy sitting behind Muteki in the black T-Shirt with his arms crossed.
Muteki mustve been focus on this one, but in the end you got his cool smile lol

What was that combo at 0:46? J. short, Cr. short, S. short into Flash Kick? Must have done a chain cancel for that one.

hahahahaha u gotta love this guys hahahaha i love the celebrations

it seems to me Muteki could have countered with a super after Balrog got him into the corner, but I guess he though it would be too risky.

Nice Guile combos - good player!
tamashima almost had a heart attack on that 1st round
combo at 0:46 is not a chain cancel. just the ability to take the right time :P
a release input is actually negative edge
muteki isn't as happy as he used to be.
@JigglyNorris not even boxer has some of the best and most damaging mixups in the game, muteki only guessed wrong a couple times.
What is muteki full name? What's his burthday
Lol Muteki knows Tamashima tricked his ass LOL
@almightyapollo .... I know that, and at the end of the fight, Tamashima DID trick him.

smart, smart play
what is that charge partitioning?
its called piano input
if you play sf4 get a square stick.
since they changed the input for some moves the square allowes better play.
which ones aniken?
Exactly. It's much easier doing dragon punches with a octo gate from my experience anyways. Supers and whatnot are as well.
Muteki vs Tama..... LOL 10/10
@00:36
Is that Muteki...NOT smiling? How bizzare.
It looks like Muteki isn't so "muteki" as his nickname says. But it was a good fight. I like play with Guile too.
Square, surely - isn't that the best all round?
i swear these players press more buttons than necessary

square best overall
3 hit
Muteki is better than Tamashima dude.
