That Yun player isn't just "great", he's KO, arguably the #1 Yun player in the world. And he's fighting Daigo, arguably the #1 Ken player in the world. These two guys are among the best SF3 players in the world.
My mind is absolutely fucking blown right now. I haven't looked much into KO & his tournament history but watching a match this heated has got me so damn curious. A really aggresive Yun player is scary as hell especially with Genei-Jin activated! I swear, SF is THE best series of games to bring every type of person from all walks of life together!
its like watching jordan and magic at the top of their times. they might not be the best ever, but man... they're damn good. they match up perfectly to each other. genius
No doubt man. I love 3rd strike, possibly the most balanced and well tuned 2d fighter ever created and the hand drawn animations are so smooth and fluid.
Truth, it is spoken. Watching fps just isn't as engaging as when you're actually playing, but with fighting games you get to see the two side's every move, watch the tensions rise and feel just about as much suspense in it as they do.
It's not just the difficulty of parrying every hit. It's also the insane amount of pressure, with all those people watching, knowing that ONE hit and you will be dead.
Now this is what a good Yun player is all about. It's fights like these that make me respect the SFIII characters, much like how I respect the SFII characters.
I love the parry system, it is exactly what DoA's reversals should have been. Some DoA characters do catch and push away attacks, rather than drain 1/4 of their life bar, but it's rare. I also loke SF3's speed, I hated "new faster gameplay" from turbo, as it is, SF3 is great.
I just played DOA and omg, them hard as heck. I don't even set the level to difficulty tho. The characters are very versatile man. I love playing as Ryu
If anyone doesn't believe me, go into training and try it. Record the super from the initial position, then playback and try to parry it. Remember, press forward AFTER the super starts - not during. When I was learning how to do it, I always pressed it too early.
Do that, it's really awesome, very smooth animations, great gameplay, even though i miss some of the original characters the new ones are great (Yun and Yang ftw)
Yun1:Sup Yun Yun2:Sup Yun Yun3:Hey what up double Yun yun48:We gonna win this years Evo Ken1:no it's me! Ken15:no it's me Ryu3:I dont think it's gonna be me! Oro1:WTF i'm alone
wow this was some intense shit. it kinda motivates me to play this classic ass game more often. i love how people are chanting during the game. it just goes to show how serious street fighter can be. in my opinion, i think street fighter tournaments and fighting games in general, are more enjoyable to watch than any fps tournaments.
What was the name of the technique daigo did at 2:20 (the golden hurricane kick)? I've been trying to get the name of it for hella long. And how do u do it? can someone please tell me. Thanks.
over there in crazy old japan, for a while whenever someone would use yun's SA3 in a heated battle, they shout AYE AYE AAAYYYEEE for the amount of juggle hits yun can keep his opponent in the air for. The longer the combo the louder they get.
Martin L. King once said "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their Ken but by the hit-confirmation of their character"
Apparently this is the best SF in all the series? Never played any but SFIV/SSFIV, so I don't know much about parrying and whatnot, but just watching this, even I could tell that was all skill.
@Spoc1012 Seth Killian was quoted as saying "A lot of people want SF3 to be given the HD treatment, granted it has so many frames of movement it might take a while."
@tiend15 yeah, I remember whn I was in mexico, i just to went to play this game in a machine and everyone would watch its jjust great and you enjoy to watch and play
@Tokeupbro Actually, in major tournaments such as EVO, Daigo always stuck with Ken for 3rd Strike. He never competed with Yun. When AE released in arcades in Japan, that's when he started playing Yun aggressively.
i'm not saying how hard it is to get in a an attack to start the chain i'm saying once the chain has been started with yun's noobie super there is no way to block it, and if done right his attack won't be counted as combo, which means full damage all the way through
First off, the theory is that any character in 3rd strike is fair game; the parry system allows players to predict certain common routines players might make with different characters. In the end, It depends on how well opponents read each other, or how well they mix it up effectively. Where most games do have drastic character match-up adv./disadvantages, 3rd strike does not. I DO HATE YUNS, THOUGH. Chun-Li is pretty damn annoying, too.
@ Pine1010 - SFIII 3rd Strike takes lots of skill parrying and using the wide variety of new available moves (ex: Ryu's side kick and Ken's overhead kicks).
Actually, the guy playing with him is so good he makes it look easy. But those crazy Genei-Jin combos he did are wicked hard. The most hits I can land is 10.
that was an amazing match. I hoped that daigo would win cuz he's using my favorite character witch i think is the best character in street fighter ken. but that yun user was really good (KO) is a good 3S player.

Two of Japan's best Third Strike players in top form.
This is the best fighting game of all time, and definitely needs to be ported to XBL and PSN.
No doubt man. I love 3rd strike, possibly the most balanced and well tuned 2d fighter ever created and the hand drawn animations are so smooth and fluid.
you have no idea how awesome and intense a high level SSF3 3rd Strike match between world class players can get
The crowds reaction to combos and counters is the best part of this video lol.
Truth, it is spoken.
Watching fps just isn't as engaging as when you're actually playing, but with fighting games you get to see the two side's every move, watch the tensions rise and feel just about as much suspense in it as they do.
@ 2:20 is the cross-over from hell !
These matches are the best, thanks for posting.
Man i just love how video games bring people together like that nice fight!
Awsome! Just goes to show how effective the SFIII fighters really are!
I love watching Japanese matches because of the enthusiasm they show. Doesn't hurt that this match is one of the more exciting ones i've seen :D
It's not just the difficulty of parrying every hit. It's also the insane amount of pressure, with all those people watching, knowing that ONE hit and you will be dead.
im loving the speaker system there, i can almost feel those hits
The chanting is a feature in Yun and Yang games. Really gets you in the 3rd strike mood!
Cool, man. This game is all new to me, I've only been playing it for ten months on ps2 and I'm learning how to play with Ken.
why cant i find this KO player on youtube, i wanna see more vids of him playing 3rd striek what about sf4?
check the cooperation cup tournaments

That Yun is obscenely beast like. I've never seen a yun player play that good, and that Ken was very skilled too. Very good match
This is like the greatest fight I've ever seen.
WOW... that was amazing. @___@ Truly the best of the best right there...
If anyone doesn't believe me, go into training and try it. Record the super from the initial position, then playback and try to parry it. Remember, press forward AFTER the super starts - not during. When I was learning how to do it, I always pressed it too early.
If you paid close attention, he did. The first hit of his SA traded with Yang's low FK.
i love the parry system it turns every hit into a liability
Those were some truely amazing matches.
What a great fight. Yun is really good.
I am also wondering what happened to Ken's SA at the end, I didn't see him get hit out of it
Yun's Genei-Jin make it so people fall like they'd been fully stunned after he's hit them, thus allowing crazy combos.
that was the best street fighter match i've ever seen
Such high level play is such a joy to watch.
The parry system just made this game too cheap at high level play, but it'll definitely always be amazing to witness these expert matches.
That`s some damn good Street Fighter right there.
Special cancel lol. I was confused at first too. Look close, Daigo's first hit of his SA trades with Yun's kick and Daigo goes into a SRK right after.
Deshiken is just amazing. I wish my Ken was like his. Yellow Ken FTW!
never played this game, i missed out big time. real good matches
Do that, it's really awesome, very smooth animations, great gameplay, even though i miss some of the original characters the new ones are great (Yun and Yang ftw)
No wait, if you pay attention, that last super that Ken (Daigo) did was actually STOPPED by Yun's kick. Daigo didn't cancel his super.
He can cancel his moves much faster, thus allowing him to juggle. Some moves also get more hits added (his lunge punch for example).
Yun1:Sup Yun
Yun2:Sup Yun
Yun3:Hey what up double Yun
yun48:We gonna win this years Evo
Ken1:no it's me!
Ken15:no it's me
Ryu3:I dont think it's gonna be me!
Oro1:WTF i'm alone
wow that was impressive for both players. great vid.
LMAO Its so funny when the crowds goes "Wooooaaaaahhhhhh... Wooooaaaaahhhhhh..." XD
wow this was some intense shit. it kinda motivates me to play this classic ass game more often.
i love how people are chanting during the game. it just goes to show how serious street fighter can be.
in my opinion, i think street fighter tournaments and fighting games in general, are more enjoyable to watch than any fps tournaments.
@GamesPlayer1 Whatev. Still is pretty cool to have your own squad. I need to get me one.
What was the name of the technique daigo did at 2:20 (the golden hurricane kick)? I've been trying to get the name of it for hella long. And how do u do it? can someone please tell me. Thanks.
daigo's real name is Diego Umeharez, he's a mexican guy from LA and KO is his cousin.
Street Fighter 4 is the Brawl of the Street Fighter series.
Man I've hated Diago so much after he beat Justin, he was totally outplayed, so now I love to see videos of him losing. :)
ah one of the best street fighters. wish they would remake it and put it on psn and xbox live
To Katlunazul.
It wasn't 2006, but 2004.
And it wasn't just any Chun-Li player.
It was Justin Wong.
He did imitate, that was a good prediction on that round.
AWESOME FIGHT...their skills are close to one another
Wow amazing matches.
I wish Street Fighter reverts back to this style and game-play.
But it may not be a safe business investment according to Capcom.
@ReaIized they are, they're just in the arcade version.
if i ever feel like watching some top tier street fighter i watch third strike.
That's true, but it applies to both of them in that situation.
over there in crazy old japan, for a while whenever someone would use yun's SA3 in a heated battle, they shout AYE AYE AAAYYYEEE for the amount of juggle hits yun can keep his opponent in the air for. The longer the combo the louder they get.
Great matches!
ya they did say that. atleast for any iterations of 4
Martin L. King once said "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their Ken but by the hit-confirmation of their character"

0:16-0:22 that was a beutiful Lock
@Spoc1012 Seth Killian was quoted as saying "A lot of people want SF3 to be given the HD treatment, granted it has so many frames of movement it might take a while."
@tiend15 yeah, I remember whn I was in mexico, i just to went to play this game in a machine and everyone would watch its jjust great and you enjoy to watch and play
@Tokeupbro So which was which
Well I was told 3 different definitions about "Tier" but besides that I'm glad theres people that don't just play for money.
Damn, Daigo always put up a good show.
@Tokeupbro Actually, in major tournaments such as EVO, Daigo always stuck with Ken for 3rd Strike. He never competed with Yun. When AE released in arcades in Japan, that's when he started playing Yun aggressively.
good match
ive got this package from playstation play but i dont know were Gill is ? oO were can i find him ?
That was nice. Now I understand why Yun is top tier.
@Badguy260 well in 3rd strike, you cant spam a hadouken coz the hadouken is slow here and also can be parried!
@honeypower I sure does :) I love animations and fighting system of 3rd Strike.
3rd Strike is so fun
You just gotta love the chat everytime daigo uses the special
" uo uo uo EH EH EH AH AH awwwwwwwwwwww.... "
KO used his special. Daigo used Ken, and lost to KO at EVO 2003 3rd Strike and EVO 2004 3rd strike.
i'm not saying how hard it is to get in a an attack to start the chain
i'm saying once the chain has been started with yun's noobie super there is no way to block it, and if done right his attack won't be counted as combo, which means full damage all the way through
and then daigo proved why he was my favorite player with that 13 SECOND PERFECT! wow!
KO has to be one of the best Yuns ever, and to beat Daigo is crazy. I love the audience too.
ay! ay! ay! ay! ay! ay! aww...
It's an EX Hurricane Kick, in mid-air.
Just jump forwards, QCB + KK
holy shit that yun is amazing. It's almost like he's dancing!!
THIS OWNS SF4
@honeypower LOL! you dont like the sf4 crater faces and stocky bodies??
ha awesome match bro. daigo's perfect was nice!
Ahh, a game where Ken isn't a pimp with a fur lined kimono, and a gold chain.
Nostalghia why are you so sweet.
@ Pine1010 - SFIII 3rd Strike takes lots of skill parrying and using the wide variety of new available moves (ex: Ryu's side kick and Ken's overhead kicks).
although 2k4 is remembered for the ultra parry by daigo, remember that ko got first place!
Actually, the guy playing with him is so good he makes it look easy. But those crazy Genei-Jin combos he did are wicked hard. The most hits I can land is 10.
that's what that super art is for; that's why it has such a short meter so you can use it over and over, but you can't use much ex with it.
that was an amazing match. I hoped that daigo would win cuz he's using my favorite character witch i think is the best character in street fighter ken. but that yun user was really good (KO) is a good 3S player.
Yun is top tier, and has been since the game came out.
What year at Evo is this?
nice
27 Tekken fighters got "KO'd" by KO; Daigo also "PERFECTED" them during the second round.
wow....what a game and these players did it justice
@Shigurekorada no it's also coming for PS3
He didn't cancel. He was hit out of it on the next frame.
can't wait for sf3 online edition!
hahaha yeah, they really made the combat fun to watch. 4:09 IDK if that was an accident or on purpose, but either way nice doulbe-parry.
@Badguy260 which is also "coincidentally" when projectiles weren't such a huge part of the game outside of combo linking
BTW, which year was this? I don't think this is 2K4
