What’s hilarious is that this is what canon Akuma would do. In the comics, he lived on a mountain, and people challenged him to a fight in exchange for offerings (clothes, food, etc). He would let himself get to the brink of defeat, then turn it around immediately. You can see it when he fights Gouken

@@Swattii A common misconception about Akuma is that he just goes around killing people when he really just keeps to himself. He doesn’t kill his opponents unless he deems them worthy of killing and strong enough to kill him in a fight as well. Otherwise it’s just a sparring match with him.
@@darnell7871From looking online, Akuma has only "killed" Gill, Bison, Gen, Gouken and Goutetsu. I put "killed" in quotation marks because: Gill used Resurrection to revive himself, Bison transferred his soul to another body, and finally, both Gen and Gouken "emptied their souls", with Gen never being confirmed to die and Gouken going into a coma but eventially waking up. Goutetsu is the only person that we know for certain that Akuma has killed that has stayed dead.
My favorite thing about Akuma is that despite going on and on about how other people are weak and that strength is all that matters, he only fights full force against those he deems strong enough. He even at one point let Elena take a photo of the two of them together. He still has a sense of honor in him, with Oni, a being fully devoted to destroying all he sees as weak, being what happens if Akuma fully gives into the Satsui no Hado.
I remember this live. People don't give the low parry the credit it deserves.
The amount of options on wake-up for Jim at this time were all pretty safe too. Very impressive parry.

To a layperson it just looks like he punched him rather than doing a read. I didn't even realize till I saw people saying it in the comments.
@@hamadouz1614 In Tekken if you press "down forward" when enemy uses a low move you throw them back down to the ground. Jin opted for Ankle Kick (a very quick low lying heel tap that does very little damage, but would be enough to kill Akuma with that health) but it was anticipated and parried.
Remember everyone, if you get Akuma to a pixel of health, it means you are winning, but it doesn't mean you've won.

In my years of fighting akuma everytime I got close to beating Akuma I forgot 2 things
1)Close doesn't count
2)Akuma is never more dangerous than when you've almost had him

I pulled off a comeback from 1% once playing Alpha 3 against a buddy of mine, with a bunch of other friends watching. Finished him off with a Raging Demon too. To this day my friends and I talk about that game. I'll never be Daigo or win a pro tourney, but in my own small way I know how this feels!

Closest I'll ever get to this feeling is playing a Smash bros. Online Match with Samus and being at 200% damage with one stock against 3.
My opponent started goofing off and tea bagging but when I got them to 1 stock 80% they got serious.... and then I spiked them lol

@@LIONTAMER3D This version of Akuma is based off of street fighter 4 Akuma. Sf4 has em 1 frame links. Hella hard bro. Even if you plink(which requires timing in its own right) it's still a 2 frame link which is the 2nd hardest possible link timing in fighting games that run at 60 fps

That's the moment where I'm most worried about. When your opponent is close to death, they can retaliate really hard if you cannot finish them off. Worse, when they can combo you as well without stopping.

For all his ruthlessness Akuma actually is a stickler for making it a fair fight. He gets nothing out of beating the obviously weak (though only turns down anybody with the balls to challenge him in the event there is clearly something wrong, such as them being sick or wounded), so when he starts a fight, as seen in Tekken, he makes it clear what he’s there for, announcing himself and giving his opponent clear notice violence is supposed to start. Akuma is very warriors path so if this means his opponent ends up killing him because they are stronger, this is also fine. Part of why he hates his brother so is because the one time back in the day they fought and his brother won, but he didn’t finish Akuma. He sees that as the ultimate perversion of a warrior. Somebody that weak mentally shouldn’t be allowed to be the strongest.
Damn. The gaming moment that could compare is the legendary parry of 2004. That shit was hype as hell.

The worst part about that whole sequence, for me, was the standing over him in disgust because he actually survived by a pixel of health, the low parry and then punch to the gut.
The craziest part in retrospect is the combo is far from optimal too. The K3R0 reset could have worked here and even the rewall splats too. Glad this brought attention to how insane he was , wish i used him earlier too lol
One of my friends used to play Akuma late season 1 and season 2.
dude used to do one touch death combos every other match, it was insane.

ye personally it still requires execution but it is harder to mess up in a hitbox/mixbox, that says a lot in fighting games where accuracy is important and having that "not so tiny" advantage really makes it way more less impressive.
