    Thank you for the review. You are the first (and only as far as I have seen) person that has flagged potential issues with using the extra M.2 slot on the back of the MoBo. I was considering the Meshilicious (along with Q58 and Phanteks Shift XT) but now I don’t think I can because I want/need that third M.2 slot to work.

    The peripherals being powered on when the pc is off can normally be disable via the motherboard BIOS
    you may refer to the mobo user manual on how to switch it off in the BIOS 👍🏻

    5:24 you can install a 120mm fan but it has to be a very slim fan

    The only quirk I encounter when I built mine is the fact that you can't move the GPU support in case you have a strictly two-slots GPU as this is the case with the Acer A770 bifrost for example. You can however unscrew it and use a printed custom support.

    Since it comes with a pcie 3.0 riser can’t you just change it to a 4.0 one?

    I've seen this case with watercooling temp of 72 celsius! Too hot, I was hoping for around 60c temps.

    Hello. Thank you very much for this information!
    One question. Do you think my Palit 4070ti GameRock Classic will fit in this case? (3.2 slots, 65.1mm thickness)

  • @guyivie8987

    Thanks very much for this useful information! I especially appreciate the suggestion about setting the BIOS to PCIe 3.0 *before* installing the riser cable. That alone will save me some frustration when my components arrive next week. Also glad to hear my thinking confirmed RE: air intake & outflow. I will be using an i7 11700 and a compact GTX 1630 GPU, and I want to go with air cooling, not AIO.

  • @IAMBatKat
    @IAMBatKat 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I would also mention that the thickness of the AOI is limited to ~58mm, so a thicker AIO's like the Arctic freezer will not fit with standard 25mm fans. You can loosen the PCIe riser mount to ajust it some so it doesn't torque the GPU too much. It is also imposssible to get enough clearance to install the bottom fan if you are running an SFX-L PSU like the SilverStone SX800 or similar beefy SFX PSU to power a 380/390 GPU. I obtained a set of mesh panels for my build and it made a world of difference in the cooling.
    My build is: Q58,MSI Z690-I, I7 12700K, 32GB DDR5-6000, Samsung 980 2TB M.2 SSD, EVGA3080 XC3Ultra, NZXT Z53 AOI, Corsair 2TB 2.5 SSD, SilverStone SX800 Titanium PSU. it took like 4 hours to build and route cables. Originally I was going to put a EVGA RTX 3080Ti in, but gave it to my son for his build.

      @IAMBatKat - can I ask if you are still using the Q58 case? And how are your thermals? I am strongly considering this case and have the same CPU and MoBo as you and looking to get NZXT AIO for cooling. I have a lesser GPU (rtx3060) but want to run with 64Gb ram. I’m not a gamer but need the PC for work. Thermal performance is a consideration and it never seems that great for the Q58 in reviews that cover it. I would be happy to have all mesh (have to check on availability here).

    • @IAMBatKat
      @IAMBatKat 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@riloh58 So far the thermals are good. It's my Game rig, so I torture it everyday. I have yet to see any CPU temp over 49C even under a heavy load. My EVGA 3080XC3Ultra runs nice and quiet too. I think even with the OEM panels it would be good as long as the abient room temp was ~72F/22C.

    • @riloh58
      @riloh58 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IAMBatKat - thank you for the info. Much appreciated. All but decided on this case (for a few reasons). My ambient temps will get quite toasty in summer but if those are your thermals I should be OK. Thinking of going with the 280mm rad vs the 240mm as it appears to fit the case.

    • @IAMBatKat
      @IAMBatKat 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@riloh58 I have heard a lot issues trying to get a 280mm to fit. You might do some research on that. I remember a few videos on YT on the subject. Personally, I don't think you will gain all that much cooling power with the 280.

    They also sell two extra mesh panels if you want to go full mesh. Such a nice case, not to difficult to build in as long you build in the correct order. I stuck in a 3080 Ti and 10700k and cooling was pretty decent. My gripe is the riser cable can be finicky and it can come lose from the PCIE socket if you are not careful. Well done video 😀

    • @TheNormalPeople
      @TheNormalPeople  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yes the riser cable, good point you highlighted. After i've attached the gpu to it, i struggle to squeeze in a finger to press the release tab on the pcie riser cable to detach the gpu after. 😅 I like how silent the case is. Thanks for watching this video 🙏🏻

    After assembling and testing my Components, I wanted to perform a thermal test of the of the i9 12900K CPU and MSI S280 AIO. I have throttling after ten minutes of running at 115 to 120 degrees. At Idle I am see ing around 89 degrees. I tried using a push pull combo but fittment is nonexistent. I can definately say the i9 CPU runs very hot. I tried the i5 12600K and thermals are so much better. This is definately not the case for an i9 12900K.

    Some good observations! I like this case primarily for its looks and I am planning to move my secondary portable computer from its' older Corsair 380T case (which unfortunately only takes 2 slot GPUs) to the Q58. The Q58 is known to have mediocre thermals in a combined use scenario (CPU and GPU both on 100% load) because the radiator has to exhaust all the hot air dumped from GPU and unlike the A4 H2O it doesn't have enough fresh air to breathe with those glass side panels. It is an acceptable trade-off for better looks. If you are air cooling this is a not an issue anymore, however with air cooling you are limited to a 67mm cooler like AXP120-X67 or Big Shuriken 3. I think air cooling this case while setting a power limit of 125W for the CPU is a nice solution. Obviously if one is after the best boost clocks and best thermals in ITX form they should build on the NR200P not on the Q58.

    • @TheNormalPeople
      @TheNormalPeople  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ansolutely agree with you. It is just beautiful, there is always an option to toollessly open the panels ajar for better ventilation when using more demanding applications.

    • @manuelmuster2956
      @manuelmuster2956 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don´t many GPUs "release" the hot air from the heat sink towards the back of the case?

    • @gencoserpen1260
      @gencoserpen1260 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@manuelmuster2956 Nvidia Founders Edition GPUs do that but AIB solutions vent most of the hot air from the sides and some from the rear. Sandwich style cases aren't really suitable for Founders Edition GPUs because there usually isn't much breathing room behind the GPU. Some sandwich cases like the H20 allow you to offset the GPU to give it more breathing room behind it. The Q58 doesn't allow that. With sandwich cases the only exhaust is the top (Q58 is larger than the average sandwich so there is also a bottom exhaust) so the hot air will be pushed from the sides of the GPU heatsink and sucked out through the top (and bottom) case fans.

    I did a build in this case and love it but in the end the temps were to high , even when undervolting the GPU it still ran hot at full load when gaming . I love the case but to be honest the NR200P temps are way better . 3 slotted gpus fit but runs too hot because of it being too close to the back of botherboard causing a bottleneck. It's sad that this case is beautiful but really bad in temps .

    • @TheNormalPeople
      @TheNormalPeople  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm curious of your setup.. your fans positioned to exhaust from the top? Radiator above fans or the other way around? I recently had no monitor signal halfway through gaming, but after testing everything, turned out to be psu fault..
      Before this case i was using the NR200P.. the one with glass panel on one side.

    • @kombat00
      @kombat00 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also found that it ran too hot for using a 240mm aio and exhaust top and bottom. I ended up switching to a a noctua L9x65 downdraft air cooler that just fits it is 65mm and there is 67mm space. And it has alot better temps now. I think that using the GPU fans as intake heated the air up and it didn't cool down the CPU well enough. I still run exhaust both too and bottom 2x140mm noctua fans top and and 1 120mm noctua fan bottom idle temps around 45 degrees on the CPU and maxes out just under 80 so by no means any super cold setup but sufficient.

    The "peripherals won't power off" thing might not be a problem with the case but could be a motherboard thing. Your peripherals are plugged into the motherboard, not the case and I doubt the case has some magical power that influences the behavior of motherboard usb ports. There should be a setting in the motherboard bios to toggle this, something like "usb port charging while powered off".

      it's so pretty though. I swapped this pc out to a Jonsbo Vr3 eventually, had monitor lose signal randomly whilst gaming, i thought was the case somehow getting very hot, after i've replaced ram and psu when it happened. Turns out it was aio faulty. Anyway, means Jonsbo vr3 case review coming up next 😅
