Just stumbled across your channel. I'm new to leathercrafting and I've spent the last two years teaching myself to sew clothing. What year did your Singer come out of? She looks old (and amazing - my 99K is a hand-crank that came out of 1915). Wonderful video. Great editing. Well done. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Hi Cory! I know this is an old video but still enjoyable! Where did you get that presser foot with the ball bearing on it?? That’s pretty good for not marking up the leather with a standard one. What’s the correct name for it? I’m a hobbiest and a new subscriber. Nice work by the way!!
Corey what would be a decent handmade gift from a woodworker to a leather worker? I was thinking of a mallet, but that seems a bit derivative, any other ideas?
Couple ideas after doing a little of both... - stitching pony - tool holder (wall mounted example at 0:18 or a bench top version) - leather strip cutter (0:48) or if you're into a little bit of metalworking too... - personalized awl with wood handle or - personalized knife with an exotic wood handle You could check www.tandyleather.com/en/ for tools made with wood to get some ideas of what they look like and what their uses are if you aren't familiar with them. If you watch the leatherworking TH-cam videos closely, you'll see some wood tools/items experienced leatherworkers use :)
Great craftsmanship from start to finish. Thanks for showing us your craft.
where can i buy leather for this project
What sewing machine did you use for the collar? And what is the wheel piece in the foot?
That is one big dog collar! 😊

You didn't say how or where or why to measure
love this
wonderful!
This is awesome! What is the thickness of the leather you are using? Also what is that tool that you punch the hole for the buckle called? Thanks!
+Melissa Stojanovski thanks! Thickness is 9-10oz and the tool is called an oblong punch.
What awesome sewing machine is this?
+shakostarsun the one at the beginning of the video is a singer 29k patcher from 1907 fully restored
Was that just sandpaper that you used to prep your beveler?
+Heather Nunyabusiness it was a piece of leather with jewellers rouge
Sweet!! What kind of leather is that?
it's full grain Italian veg tan leather, 9-10oz thick.

+Alan Fisher mallet would be nice. If you have a lathe maybe some tool handles.

Jess Janes Amazing thank you. Finished an oak mallet yesterday but it's so nice I'm keeping it ;-)

What is that at 4:18?
It's an edge roller, it applies edge paint to the edges of the leather evenly.
Çok faydalandım
Where can I buy these?
+Nils Gäbler at www.genuinecollars.com
That link is for collars, I'm interested in buying belts.
+Angel Luis Trinidad email me at coreyrametta@gmail.com. Don't have them posted on a website yet.
Super!!!!)))
Hi Corey,
Do you have a template for dog collars ?
+Carlos Medina no sorry
OK thank you ;)
!!!!!!!!!
Was ist da jetzt Handwerk? Nieten und eine Ziernähte aus Nylon Garn... nicht eine Sattlernaht... ganz schön traurig...
Nicely done video. I only saw dog collar in the title and kept thinking "how freaking big is this persons dog?"
+Alex Gordon it actually was for a dog.
