Looks like a great consideration of dog's anatomy unlike many existing products! The only thing I don't like using a regular rope is how rope is pretty thin and might dig into the skin. Perhaps there's some flatter and wider rope that has soft edges and can still be tied in this fashion?
Outstanding! If you rig it like you first did, you would have a corrective training harness for a pulling dog that would work in a very similar fashion to a Sporn harness.
Well done. You have a good obedient dog. I like the Spanish bowline. If you make the loops long enough to get together at the top, then you could tie it off right there.
Outstanding! I already have a harness I've bought several years ago but, I'll be so proud to walk my doggy with one I made ( and that is secure), that I'll try to do it myself this week. Thank You so much FCA! Greetings from France ^_^🐕🦺
Using this for my kitten has been great to avoid buying a bunny harness for harness and leash training since he is still so small. Probably will use this rope harness for a few months
THANK YOU FCA for all your amazing knot tying videos. I have learned so much from this channel! If you have an opportunity, would you be able to give me some advice on creating a paracord slingshot pouch? It would be more of a short flat braid, like an extremely short bracelet, with two neat little eyes for tying the latex bands. Maybe with coreless paracord and ironed to make it quite flat... I can't quite figure out how to make a perfectly symmetrical one though...any advice appreciated!!!
Do you have a way you would tie a harness for carrying a dog? Like if they get hurt out hiking and you need to carry them out. I’m thinking carrying them on the back like a back pack.
It'd be good to get the harness part complete, then make a quick release or two, one to attach at the back, and one for a "leash" to attach. That way you could let him off the leash to run. Would it be ok to leave the harness part on full-time?
Full time? Like 24/7 having a harness on the dog? I don’t think it would cause any serious problems for a full grown dog but it would for sure be uncomfortable for them to have to rest on a rope and large knot on there chest. I’d definitely take it off my dog when not needed myself and recommend that. This would be a last case scenario a proper padded nylon harness should be what you use for your doggo if they were running and got caught up are snagged this rope would be a lot harsher on the dog than a proper padded harness.
There's a very nice commerical product called a HelpEmUp harness that is excellent for mobility challenged dogs and helping them get around. The key features are where the pressure is put (on the bony ribcage and pelvis, not squishy stomach or leg creases) and that the dog can toilet with it on. The commercial version is excellent but sometimes your dog might unexpectedly need assistance, and I wonder if you could figure out how to tie one (maybe it would have to be two pieces, like the HelpEmUp) so people could use it if they can't get a real one ? ❤️
Ok so now that I've tried this.. could you add a second knot somehow between the dogs front legs, so the pressure is off the armpits a bit more? Especially if the dog is a lot shorter than the point of holding the leash..
I was actually trying to figure that out, but it makes the harness much more complicated. I would probably use a second section of rope to “whip” the two loops together.
Could this be adapted for a bird? Many bird “harnesses” have a poop diaper and are heavy. Birds, particularly smaller ones, don’t like the additional weight, even if they aren’t flighted. My cockatiels hated their “Flight Suits”
i swear this is the worst series of knots i have ever had the displeasure of trying to tie, with my rope collapsing into a tangled, non-adjustable mess every time. congrats on making it look easy but this is useless for an amateur like me. That spanish bowline is going onto my forever blacklist of knots.
Needs some metal parts... I like to put 2 dogs together & make them work as a team (or not), but they work against each other ... the cat hates them, even more
Ace is such a patient model! He definitely deserves treats.
Awww... Who's a good boy??? YOU are!!! *hands a treat to the pup*
your Rottweiler is so well behaved.

you could use twice the amount and simply double it over.
Super late but I just ordered nylon 2inch webbing for this exact reason!

Doggy knows what's happening!
Excellent, as usual.
thank you this is the easiest way i have seen, easy to understand and to do, thank you so much!!!!!

You are brilliant with knots!!!
Love this. Thank you for your work !!!
Ingenious as usual!

Dude you can really find ANYTHING on youtube, nowadays
If you leave the leads separate can you use them for directional controls if riding a skateboard powered by the dog?

Dude, this is great as usual. Good dog and beautiful!
First class content! Keep on the good work!
Priceless great job

This would be very helpful!
I'd use a blanket or sweater for that, not rope.

Excelente técnica, me ha servido mucho, gracias ❤
Sir, could you take a swing at tying perfect guitars strings for tuning stability.
I have a cat missing one front leg, there is no harness for her, can you show something similar to this for a three leg cat. thanks
That Mach 2 wag at 02:40 says it all.
Nicely done. Thank you for sharing. Wish you well.

1:45 Where they go through each loop, could not a square knot be made after and it won't constrict?
That dog looks to be a German Short-haired Pointer. An excellent bird dog for quail.
What a ausome idea!😃 ive got to try this hee x, thank you x

Is this a joke? Every time I pull the rope through the triangle it comes apart??
2 bites, 1 bark got it. Also does this work for kids? 😆
technicall you can do it on kids, but the rope in the armpits is not a great idea.
Thank you so much 👍👍👌

thank you for the tutorial but my cat hated it lol it worked though
I just used this tutorial to make one for my stuffed animal so i dont loose him, so hes attached to my bag lol
Wish my dad's brittany would sit still enough for this lol
What rope do you use for this? As a total knot/rope noob, I have no idea what the best all purpose rope is for beginners
1/4” paramax is my favorite. I carry it at my shop. AwesomeForSale.com
@@First_Class_Amateur Nice! What’s the difference between “550” and 1/4 inch? (remember, I’m a noob)

You could revise more
Dude was moving to fast to keep up need to slow down a bit so ppl can follow
This is just doggy shibari, lol
How dare you. HOW DARE
One could argue that shibari is just a human harness.
@@Eis_ that would be a good argument
