So refreshing to watch one of these videos without music, commentary or a 5 minute spiel at the beginning asking to ‘subscribe and like’ the video! You’re a true craftsman and an inspiration. Really beautiful products.
Nice to know that some appreciate that. I don't want to tell people what to do. If they "subscribe and like", that's cool. If they don't, then they have their reasons and that's fine.
wow!!! i am just seeing your post regarding the material used. at least that confirms to me that i could use other types of leather asides veg tan. would you please suggest other cheaper option to create a raise effect. TX
Thank you! The white glue is supposedly "leathercraft cement" but it looks, behaves and smells like basic pva glue and it doesn't work that well for leather. The one that I use now is contact glue, perfect for leather.
Hi thank you for posting this video. I believe the video was posted because of me having gone through several yet similar videos on how to create raised leather, its only your video that would use other material aside vegetable tan leather to create the raised effect. Would you please advise me on what materials i could use aside vegetable tan leather. Also is it possible to use chrome tan leather. and finally, can i use padded material used in quilting to create a raised effect - would it last if i am going to use it on sandal/shoe. i really hope to read from you shortly. Thanks
I love your work! What was the tool at 10:00? And is the wooden tool that you use for rounding edges a specific leatherworking tool or just something random that had the right shape?
The tool at 10:00 was actually a shoemakers tool (no idea what it's called, some sort of "edge iron" maybe...). The wooden tool is meant to be used for burnishing the edges of the leather.
When you cut the 2nd strip that goes over the center raised strap, is that piece cut wider than your first billet to compensate for the thickness of the center strap?
Can someone please advise if the chain portion of this collar was bought as a whole, if so what is it called? If not then where do you recommend getting these products?
Very nice! I see from the description that the front leather is 1 mm wider than the back to compensate for the thickness of the middle piece. But as the middle piece is 2mm thick, why does this not require the front to be 4 mm wider than the back? Does the leather stretch as you press it?
Hi, very nice work! where do you get the top layer of leather from? My local leather shop, Tandy Leather doesn't seem to carry this type of thin finished leather.
Hello! :) great vid! I would like to ask another question about that thread - what is the size? I recently bought Seiwa pricking irons (3 mm) and now I`m trying to match the thread ;) Thanks in advance and greetings from Poland! :)
Beautiful collar, nicely made. One thought tho but purely from a design viewpoint, i think it would have look really nice to have tan thread on the black leather sections in contrast to the black thread on the tan leather sections. Also the knife use at the start... is that a Tina Knife? and where did you get it... I've been on the hunt for one for a while but no luck so far here in the UK.
Thank you! A tan thread would have been a nice touch, indeed. But I haven't got tan coloured thread^^. Yes, it is a Tina knife. Since they are made in germany, I think they are only available from there. I got my knives from my workplace a few years ago. But check this out mymesser.de/Schuhmachermesser Hope you understand german ;-), if not, I can help you there.
Thanks. is it at all possible to post the link i need to a right handed one like yours? Also just bought your card wallet pattern, looking forward to making it
I have the "Tina 230", so it should be this one schuhbedarf.de/werkzeuge/scheren-und-messer/tina-messer-230-schuhmachermesser-mit-pvc-griff-haarscharf-geschliffen-aus-edelstahl.html Thank you for buying the pattern and the support!

I really love this video. The close-up shots are really amazing, I also enjoyed no music and no talking. Extremely relaxing to watch
Thank you!
Excellent craftsmanship! And what a lovely presentation, no background distractions. Well done.
Thank you very much!
If I show this video to my son I'm sure I have to make one for my dad's dog he's loving
Very nice work 👍
Ken Dodd's dad's dog's dead...!!!!
I like the way you did... So calm...
I'm glad you like it.
He is not using any sore, the glue is contact cement, and the work is inspiring, thanks for sharing!
Nice job.Very simple design that works
Terrific workmanship!
Very nice. Thanks for adding the detail in the description.
No problem :-). Glad you checked the description.

Hi! Of course you can use chrome tanned leather. For the filler material you can use foam or felt, for example.
How do you want to add it to a shoe?
Looks awesome! I noticed you use a white glue in other videos, but you used a thicker-looking clear glue here. What is the difference in the glues?
Thank you! The white glue is supposedly "leathercraft cement" but it looks, behaves and smells like basic pva glue and it doesn't work that well for leather. The one that I use now is contact glue, perfect for leather.
Good vid.good job with the leather dog collar.
Thank you!

Great video, amazing finished collar! Where would you suggest buying leather and hard wear?
What kind of foam do you use?
Great video. Nice work
Thank you!
Nice collar.
Great project thanks for sharing. What's the purpose of the line you scribed to the outside of your stich line? Is it purely ornamental?
Yes, just to make the edges look a little smarter. The devil's in the details ;-).
yeah, looks good
When you cut the 2nd strip that goes over the center raised strap, is that piece cut wider than your first billet to compensate for the thickness of the center strap?
Yes it is. I've wrote the details in the video discription.
Where did you get the martingale choker chain?
Can someone please advise if the chain portion of this collar was bought as a whole, if so what is it called? If not then where do you recommend getting these products?
It's called a martingale chain and they are sold as a whole.
Great video as usual. Where would you recommend learning these skills from?
Thank you! Learning by doing and also watching Ian Atkinson's and Nigel Armitage's videos.
Thanks for the advice

Seems logical to add 4mm to the front piece indeed, but yes the leather stretches :-)
Do you do custom requests?
Hi, very nice work! where do you get the top layer of leather from? My local leather shop, Tandy Leather doesn't seem to carry this type of thin finished leather.
Hi, it was from "A&A Crack".
Tandy does carry thin leather, also Springfield, Weaver, others
👏хорошая работа!))
Не поняла, как должно застёгиваться?
Great work. What's the tool called that you used to straighten your stitch line?
I don't know what tool you mean...
Excelente trabajo
Hello. I am from Guatemala, I like you work. I need to know what is the name of the thread you use. Thank you so much.
It's "tiger thread" or "Ritza 25".
Hello! :) great vid! I would like to ask another question about that thread - what is the size? I recently bought Seiwa pricking irons (3 mm) and now I`m trying to match the thread ;) Thanks in advance and greetings from Poland! :)
Hi, I used 0.6mm thread.
Well done
Is it van teg leather?
Could you tell me what that cream is you are using on the sides of your collar
