- Today we go to check out a Houston Whipz car meet and it was all chill for a while until the Dreaded and ABSOLUTELY POINTLESS Street Racing Task Force showed up. They baited an Infiniti into running from them for no reason but he got away. There was also plenty of sends, a car crash, and so much more! Hopefully y'all enjoy!

You know, I've been a cop for 21 years, and a street racing task force, I just don't see it. Sure, they could shut down stupid shit, like blocking highways or turning intersections into burnout pits, but this was a car meet. And let's face it, EVERYONE sends it going out of a car show/meet. Why bother with that? IDK maybe I'm different, but some stuff I just don't focus on, definitely more important things to enforce than what was going on there. As always, I love your channel, much love from a Florida LEO.

Here's the other issue.. Drag strips been closing left and right lately, so what do they expect is going to happen. Although harassing those at a good ole meet seems like a waste of tax dollars for sure..

My opinion on the street racing task force:
Now before I begin, I want to establish my bias. I enjoy watching a good car meet and street race, but I also enjoy seeing the Law Enforcement Intervention; so I also enjoy watching a good police chase, shutting down a reckless meet, street race, etc. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not alone, it seems that the Cars Across Texas Videos with law enforcement in the thumbnail/title statistically does better; but maybe I'm also pulling stats out of my ass.
Now to my understanding the "task force"'s only job isn't to shut down reckless car meets and street races, but they are a sub-division of the Vehicular Crimes Division. They also handle DWI's, Major Crash Investigations, commercial vehicle code enforcement, etc. So their job isn't nessesarily to just lay on their siren to scare off cars.
With the taskforce, I can also argue that it can save resources as it's a set number of responding units instead of a less controlled response like that we see at some meets where the V.C.D isn't at. I think that they also attempt to be proactive, like when you saw them sitting across the street, probably just to gauge if they needed to shut down the meet and to prevent the response of other units, because lets be honest, a Karen probably would have called the meet in anyway, so a deputy monitoring the meet could prevent any more of a unnecessary law enforcement response.
So to wrap it up, I think it's reasonable to say that sometimes these car meets can be dangerous, cause damage to property, and pose a risk to the public (if people are sending it a little too hard into the street). So I don't see the V.C.D being utilized as a bad thing, as long as they aren't violating any laws or their policies; or shutting down meets that they have absolutely no business being at, like a park and chill.

Thanks for your feedback! I just think the way they handle it is a little stupid. 1.) it doesn’t take 10 officers making 6 figures a year off my tax dollars to handle this. 2.) they could post 1 cruiser by the exit to monitor and maybe one by the show to ensure nobody’s burning out leaving. 3.) the way they flush people out on the road feels like they’re trying to bait people into doing burnouts or racing so they can bust them more frequently.

Large meets and events near me, cops do the force out thing, shut down roads to make it more congested, etc. It just creates so much more chaos than if they made their presence known, and let it naturally die down verse forcing it. I am talking about planned, permitted events too, not just random takeover things.
@@CarsAcrossTexas I can agree with #1 10 can be excessive, but to be the devils advocate, if they have too little units they may lack that show of force that they feel they need to disperse everyone. #2 is a great idea, but I wonder if they don't do it because then they could be seen as liable if something does occur on the property as they are there. #3 They might be trying to do that, but to remain the devils advocate, sometimes if they are too lenient on the flushing out, some people attending the meet might take longer as they don't feel that sense of urgency. But I do think maybe if they came through on the loudspeaker and gave a verbal warning to leave the property before the aggressive flush, and give people a few minutes to get into their cars and leave properly that it might mitigate that

I respect law enforcement for the most part. The ones who work against ACTUAL crime. These handsomely paid individuals who are paid to literally just disperse car meets and bait people into racing so they can write a few extra tickets and impound a few extra cars do not serve a purpose. There’s an epidemic of violent crimes, thefts, drugs, murders, etc. in our city but these guys are worried about kicking people out of a car meet where we had permission to be. If they did their job right they’d sit by the exit and monitor people leaving, if they didn’t swarm the meet like this that dude would’ve never ran from the cops and never put anyone at danger. BUT since they feel the need to flush everyone out like this, the Infiniti driver ran, I’m sure there was some extra racing on the highway and the Street Racing Task Force made the Houston streets that much more dangerous! I have respect for LEOs, just not these tools.
Prioritizing actual crime isn’t running your mouth. Why can’t the normal cops just stop street racing? Gotta pay for a whole task force that just goes to car meets to shut them down? Street racing/takeover events aren’t what this is.
