    We used 1" d shape from amazon around the window as described in the video. On the bottom of the window, we used 3/8" weather stripping. Cut the wind noise down significantly.

      Awesome! We drove our Jeep from NC to FL not long after I made this modification. I couldn’t imagine driving it without these mods. Can’t believe Jeep didn’t do this from the factory.

    Love the video and delivery. Very concise. Wind noise was never really an issue for me thanks to the cold air intake, aftermarket exhaust, and MT tires.

    Also what’s your recommendation for hands free when talking via Bluetooth..where is the microphone located. When I have phone calls with people they say all they hear is wind noise. I’m wondering if I do this will it eliminate 80 percent of the wind noise? I upstaged my speakers I can hear them just find it’s the people on the other end that can’t hear me well.

      Sorry, read this on mobile. No, I'm not caulking it shut. There is a small gap between the outer skin and the A-pillar. The entire part that folds down. Jeep inserted sealant on the driver's side. However, there was none on the passenger side. Sorry for the confusion.

  • @kmi3dprint
    @kmi3dprint ปีที่แล้ว

    This really doesn't make any sense. Unless you seal up the entire jeep you will get wind noise from everywhere, this mod won't "100%" remove wind noise. If wind really is coming in from the window like you say, there would a bigger concern of windows popping off at high speeds, or water leaks around the window.
    I have the Besttop sunrider and most of my noise comes from wind passing over that. When I had a softtop, the wind. noise came from passing over the thing fabric. If there is windshield noise; it is cancelled out by this. When I have the panels on (rarely) it is MUCH quieter, but not gone because there isn't insulation inside the panels to quiet the wind vibrations.
    If you look around your door seams (from inside) in a nice bright day, you will see gaps in the door,, also comes in through this.
    This seal that you are creating is also a water channel; another thing to think about.
    Much of the quiet ride you get from other SUV types, is because there insulation in the frame. Jeeps don't have much insulation at all; so wind noise comes from everywhere
    A jeep is less aerodynamic than an elephant, not much you can do about it.

    • @diy-mitch-vlogs
      @diy-mitch-vlogs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Even though I took the more extreme approach. The majority of my wind noise problems came from the fact that Jeep did not seal up the windshield A pillar on the passenger side. I mentioned this in my video. So, I sealed that area and it solved my issue. We took a trip from NC to FL and I was extremely pleased with the mods I made. The only thing we heard was the obvious road noise and other vehicle’s because it’s a Jeep. However. There was no wind noise entering through the gaps left by Jeep. Please like and subscribe! Thanks!

    Give me a break please... i have been driving a Jeep since the CJ's there is no wind noise in those Jeep's now days. I am keeping my JK Rubicon until there nothing left but rust. I am aware you spent well over 50 thousand dollars on your Jeep but is a Jeep after all. If they were under 50 thousand dollars they would be flying off the dealer lots...

    • @diy-mitch-vlogs

      Thanks for the reply. If you watched my video all the way through, you will see where I showed and explained what Stelantis Jeep failed to do in the manufacture. They missed sealant in the passenger side A-pillar. Piss poor quality if you ask me. What I did was overkill, but it did most certainly help. This is our 3rd Jeep and still love them, despite quality issues. I was not about to take it back to the dealer to address this. About the only way it would have to go back to the dealer for warranty is if it had to be towed back. Dealers are the worst.
