Yea that’s cool and all but the reason FSU fans cling to stat is because in so many of those years they got taken out of the national title by Miami….87, 88, 90, 91, 92, 94
@@Theycallmekenney Understandable, as a life long fan we left a lot titles on the field, some missed field goals , other things. Can't win them all but we have our fair share of wins over that team.
Players like Amp Lee, Edgar Bennett, Matt Frier, Lawrence Dawsey, and Casey Weldon were made for FSU. So many good players over the years, I won't even bother with first team all time. They were all perfect for their teams-
In case you didn’t know, these fan bases HATE each other. A guy I know went to FSU, where he met his wife. A woman from her work bought them a set of blue and orange candles. They were thrown out the next day.
Ya it’s true. In state rivalries get nasty. It’s kind of stupid. Rivalries are fun, but when people take them too seriously it gets ridiculous and not fun.
I went to high school in Jacksonville. It was a total Gator town. Half of my friends went to UF. It's not the 80s/90s anymore. I'll actually pull for them other than our game.
The first time both FSU and UF were in the top 10 at the same time. This game perfectly sets up the great games in the 1990's that these two teams had. Throughout most of the 90's at least one of these teams was talking about a national championship. A couple times, they were both in the top 5, with both teams having a shot at the national title. Sadly, after the 90's ended, this rivalry would be lopsided either one way or the other. One team would be great while the other team sucked, and which team it was flipped back and forth a few times. Makes me wish the 2008 Florida Gators could play the 2013 Seminoles as both teams were unstoppable in those years. Hopefully both teams will get back to that point and we can have these type games again.
I was there…..good lord….best time of my life to be 20 years old…..tons of hot girls around me…..not a care in the world & FSU kicking ass!! Now I have so much ‘life’ happening!

People forget that Spurrier took over a UF program that was ineligible to win the SEC or go to a bowl because of NCAA probation. The program had never won a SEC title, except in 1984 which was vacated by the SEC because of infractions by former coach Charlie Pell. Spurrier would lead them to six SEC titles, including four straight, and two National Championship games, winning one.
Spurrier changed the SEC in an unprecedented way with his passing offense and with his ability to keep Florida's best athletes at home. Just a great overall coaching job by Spurrier.
Spurrier is responsible for the SEC being the power it became in the 2000s to present day. Florida just steamrolled the SEC in the 90s and the fee of the conference had no choice but to catch up.
True. I hated the guy back in the 90's but I have nothing but respect for Steve Spurrier and what he brought to his program. He built it up to become a national powerhouse that contended for the national title and finally one it. As a Seminole fan, I was pretty intimidated sometimes by the kind of offensive power he brought to Florida, especially the tandem of Wuerffel, Hilliard, Anthony, and Green. He knew how to recruit the players his offense needed and to utilize them to totally destroy defenses. He was a coach I despised, but had a LOT of respect for.
I love steel bucks videos!! Thank you for all of these games!!!
14 years straight , a top 5 team during the Bowden era , even Saban and bama dropped out of the top ten a few years .. Go Noles

Bobby Bowden with Mark Richt was an incredible combo. And yes, Bowden was better than Saban.
I still remember that bomb in the first drive as a 10 year old kid.
GO NOLES!
i was in the student section. It was insane ...
Me too. I was 13 at the time.
I was 11 and remember it also. No one was playing like us.
Boy I miss hearing Ron Franklin on ESPN Saturday night college football cause he along with Gary Danielson,Mike Gottifred and Bob Davie as his analyst
10, 15, 20, check it off at 23 yards...
FSU student here 90-94! Love my school so much! ❤️🏈💛
Bobby Bowden RIP, boy do I miss him.
Watching these old fsu-miami- uf games is special. First observation: nearly every play was a late hit amd wouldn't be cool today
Amp Lee was so deceptive with his cuts. One of the most underrated FSU players of all time.

Michigan felt that pain
I miss these uniforms for Florida with the black cleats

That's hideous. I went to high school in Jax. Half my friends are Gators and I love them. We're not Alabama/Auburn.

Tallahassee has so many hot girls
Bowden you’re a legend!
Tell me #56 for FSU looks just fucking like Alvin Mack from the program. Starting Defense place at the table.
Bowden won a title at 70 last title game he played for he was 71. Imagine if playoff was set up in this era? Bobby would have snagged a few more.
This will be Gators' Last Non-Bowl Season due to NCAA Sanctions in 1990 until 23 Years Later in 2013.
They went 4-8 the same year FSU won a title. How things are so different than the 90s.

UF always in some trouble
Spurrier vs Bowden Round 1
"You ain't on my level"
27:40 What a catch
Could easily have been 31-7 with 6 minutes left in 1st half but for dropped passes.
Spurrier deserves full credit for the powerhouse conference the SEC became and currently is!
