The police are supposed to inform you that they are recording images AND audio.

_"The police are supposed to inform you that they are recording images AND audio"_
It's a lost cause, none of them bother (or it's very uncommon at least), if you explain that they need to inform the public most will tell you you're wrong, ignore you and change the subject or say "you're recording too" . . . no one (including auditors) report them for breaching BWC policy, and even if you were to report them, there are no real consequences . . . so it really is a lost cause, you may as well complain about the size of their shoes or their accent.

The lad was using a drone which was visible via his phone. the officer was distracting him which is not allowed. The officer must have been watching DJE flying his drone whilst driving his car, driving without due care and attention. The officer was there for one reason and one reason only and that was to get revenge for the inspector who when he asked dje for his details was made to look a fool in front of the trainees when dje declined to give them. It was all about the coppers being bigger and better hence showing dje their bigger and better drones. Never forget that this is meant to be a civilised country where policing is by consent. Yes I have been to Singapore were you could be fined for not flushing a public toilet. Hong Kong where the olive green police are constantly asking people for I.D. QATAR/BAHRAIN DUBAI 5 TIMES where you can be arrested for drinking/eating in the street during day time hours during Ramadan as well as being arrested for holding hands if you are not married to the person you are holding hands with. Police have time to harass innocent people, stuff their faces, update their twitter and look gormless during illegal protests but are always too busy to stop real crime and do the job the public pay them for.
For this reason people will sooner trust their safety to a steel pipe than the police. You threaten to call the police and people just laugh, you threaten to use a steel pipe and they don't laugh.

    Can't wait for part 2 😳😲👮‍♂️🚔
Because from your position, surrounded by trees 🌳 there is no way you have VLOS of your drone if you're flying over towards the college.
My guess is they have a police drone training unit on site, the training officer who walked you off site, mentioned having a fly of a drone the college has.
So he will have advised them of your intention to fly over, that will have had them out and all over you⚠️😲

Even if it is a 'toy' drone weighing less than 250g it is still subject to some crazy restrictions, in fact you'd have less restrictions flying over the site in a paramotor⚠️😳😲
The next wave of restrictions will mean you'll have to register a paper airplane and fit a Network ID unit to it, pass an online test etc etc 😁⚠️

@@thetruth9210 He's a drone unit officer based just on a gut feeling initially because the training officer who walked DJE off the site was talking about flying a drone the college had, when DJE was chatting to him about flying a drone over the site, the training officer was just gaining 'intel' and would have informed their own in house drone unit who would have rushed out straight to where DJE said he was flying from, how else would he know where to find him so quickly?
Plus confirmed by a photo of the officer holding a huge police drone DJE posted earlier.😁⚠️
Let's hope DJE was flying in the open area he could see⚠️😲
Any drone pilot with an ounce of common sense wouldn't be flying where DJE launched from, trees just block the signal really badly, are a hazard to your drone and block the view of the airspace in your immeduate area⚠️😳

First mistake, when a copper cautions you, he states you have a right to remain silent etc. then any questions after that are a sequence of questions to get you to self incriminate, so that you can be charged with an offence. The question about visual line of sight, he was hoping you'd say no. Always be cautious about answering questions, but after a caution, try not to answer any, and never say yes when they ask you if you understand, as that's legalese trickery to get you bound to the legal system of rules and regulations, or acts and statutes.
