- Today we take a look around HM Prison Lowdham Grange, Old Epperstone Rd, Lowdham NG14 7DA.
We are joined by @TheTorbinator1 on this video.
We walk around the publicly accessible areas and then get confronted by Prison Officers with a Dog and the On-Site Constable.
We have a very heated conversation then 2 uniformed constables arrive in a marked car.

You turn up to a prison wearing trainers, jeans, a puffer coat and a BALACLAVA, then complain when officers hold suspicion against you that you’re smuggling drugs😂pathetic, the balaclava was enough to detain them under suspicion, who tf walks up to a prison wearing a bally recording looking around cars etc and doesn’t expect to be detained 🤣🤣

DJ & PJ are the only auditors I like to watch, they both have different styles and are very professional, the others I've seen just seem to be very confrontational especially with the Police, and play on the views and comments from the Anti police brigade
Stick to doing the audits on your own and leave your colleague at home. Keeps chipping in. Your manner, legal knowledge and professional conduct is why I watch these.

Well that escalated fast as hell. And yes, prison guards in general all act like this. They have to deal with a different breed of folks behind those walls. They tend to start at an 11 and calm down after initial contact. These dudes were just on a power trip. Handled well on your part. Only thing I can suggest is don't bring your buddy with you because he doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut.
Typical police training teaches constables to match the level of the contact, these officers failed to do that and unjustifiably escalated the case. It's very unprofessional and could be very intimidating for someone who hasn't handled such a situation before
Holy shit, your police in the UK are much more calm and reasonable than police in the US. You would have been thrown against the wall and handcuffed before the uniformed officers even ever arrived, and they never would have even let you speak. It wouldn't matter if the officer was citing the wrong law or if there suspicion was due to a blindspot in the CCTV footage. I must applaud both you and the police for the way that you've both handled what was understandably a tense issue for both parties involved.

The fact that UK police are so soft is a terrible thing when they're faced with actual criminals. The victims are always left destroyed and without help.

The police officer who was willing to inherit some knowledge you gave, instead of letting his ego control him like the rest of them is a breath of fresh air. Hes an assett to the force thats for sure.

The most concerning aspect is the lack of complete coverage by CCTV. That failing of security for a prison wall is utterly bizarre!

Maybe, maybe not, having someone who definitely doesn't look/sound like a push over surely raise the tension, but in the meantime it keeps them on their toes.
Just look how they were barking orders and threatening to release the dog on them from the get go...both had to voice their disagreement as clearly as possible, good job from both of them

He just sounded like thousands of auditors out there that are just confrontational for no reason and antagonistic.
@@FarangKyAy DJ knows when to shout , when to talk more quietly and when to listen and he knows the law . His initial shouting was justified in that I think the prison guys were getting close to releasing the dog which was unnecessary as neither DJ or his mate were being physically aggressive or trying to run away . If you are respectful towards the police you often find they dont know how to react as they expect people to be combative in these situations . I am quite pro police as there have been far more occasions when I have been glad to see them than not , but on the two occasions when I came across complete aresholes I was ultra polite and offered to help them .It didnt work on one occasion but on the other it totally took the cop by surprise ad he didnt know how to react other than to let me go on my way as he stood there with a ' what just happened ' look on his face!

I actually think the first officer handled the situation very well. He delt with the confrontation in a calm and professional manner and quite simply did his job to what he believed was the coreect procedures.

This is a prime example of the police force being far more aware of Auditors than general prison staff. Hopefully the chap with the Micky mouse ‘Police’ cap and top learned a valuable lesson this day. All I will say is that you DJ, always hold your ground in a respectable and collaborative way. Other auditors should learn to adapt their visits and conversations in a similar fashion. Keep up the great work 👏🏼

The Prison Guards were overreacting , the Cop was ok but as so often happens, he was not sure about the law and was assuming he could use PACE to get your details with have reasonable grounds to require your details.

You may have the legal right of access to a public place, but can you seriously say that you don't understand why they would be concerned about someone acting strange around private cars and walking around the perimeter wall with a drone. It's a class B prison and some seriously nasty people . The guards put themselves at risk every day and have families to protect. Would you do their job?
what is strange about looking at number plates ? the police do it all the time, we have millions of camers looking at your number plate all day lone, plus dash cams etc.... and walking around the perimeter is a legal thing to do, the private property signs are for inside the wall not outside of it, that is not private land at all its council land that is open to the public.. and cat B prisoners are not dangerous mate, thats cat A and A+..
It doesn't matter if its class A, B or Z it's a prison with people who are not thar nice and the guards are there to make sure they stay there without putting themselves and their families at risk. The only reason for being there is to a reaction, but you didn't answer, would you do their job.

Officers were very respectful and calm. Good on them. Even the first guy despite making an error in the code he referenced he’s only human.
DJ audit your calm demeanor is something I aspire towards.
Only human comment doesn't excuse a force sending an officer that doesn't know the laws and their regulations.
I'm a driving instructor, but I'll just use that excuse when I fail to tell a student they must stop at a red light.

@@Turbomgzt A police officer isn't a lawyer, it's impossible to know every law and regululation off by heart. (tbh even lawyers and judges have to research them because there are countless laws and regulations) a driving instructor has a very small pool of knowledge they need to know compared to every law and regualtion in the country.

I'm always astonished that the reason police give for detaining people or demanding I.D. is that they do not know if a crime has been committed. If I were in that situation, I would, first, thank the officer for admitting that he has exactly zero evidence of a crime. When he inevitably changes his tune seconds later I would ask if he was lying when he said he had no evidence, or if he is lying now when he grounds for a detention or and I.D. check.

I always prefer your videos when you are alone. You differ from others in that you are very polite, intelligent and humourous. I do not watch most other auditors as they tend toward the opposite of those characteristics. Adding other people to your audits simply dilutes your excellent content.

another fine DJ audit. DJ stole the show and annihilated everyone he encountered. DJ's knowledge was demonstrated as being unsurpassed. Several egos were left bruised in the process. Hopefully the police and prison staff will be sent for some training on the back of this. SIMPLY FANTASTIC 🙂.
yeah the copper at 23:00 started with an arrogant attitude but was humbled pretty quickly. he said he's only been on the force for a year, so it shows training is not very thorough. it shows the personality types the job attracts however, craving authority and thinking it gives them more powers than it actually does.

For example the policeman said he detained you because he couldn’t see you both so didn’t know if you did something that he had no evidence had happened (and turns out never happened). When you let him say it out loud it sounds as ridiculous as it is!

I thought the cop was pretty reasonable . DJ made a good point that the CCTV coverage should have been total or adequate when it was quite obvious it wasnt . Had it been the whole situation could have been avoided . People do break the law by throwing prohibited items such as drugs over prison walls . We all know that DJ hasnt and wouldnt do that and we have seen the evidence on this video , but people do lie to the police ( especially if they have broken the law ) so in fairness to the cop he has to be suspicious as people wondering around outside a prison may well be up to no good .

i like your content, i believe it is fair to say your co-auditor is having a negative effect on your interactions, if he is overtalking and seen to be un-cooperative it could put you both at risk of being arrested, man handled and not treated with the respect required
As a former police sergeant and prison officer I can confirm all prisons have at least one police liason officer based on site.
I've seen that other guys vids. Sometimes he's gone around with News Yorkshire News Auditor as well. Imo you're better. One of the best in the UK right now. Good auditors to be most effective have to know when to leave it as well as when to push some. In my view you get the balance right. Some others don't.

They had information that 2 males with face coverings were behaving suspiciously around the prison wall, they then approached and the same 2 males were ignoring clear commands to stop and were continuing to close the police officers and prison staff down, the grounds would have allowed the dog to be released based on the officers suspicion that they were being faced with an threat. (I cannot say what the officer felt at that time so couldn't say for certain that this was the case but if it was then it would have been justifiable)
@@sharoko1784 what threat? Two males walking wearing masks, massive law suit. There would have to be an immediate fear of unlawful violence to justify the use of the dog. Which was not a police dog and possibly not licenced for use in public. The dog did not perceive a threat, it was not interested at all.

if you draw out the conclusion that you MAY have thrown something over the wall, phones, drugs weapons etc, it would be an extremely inefficient way to deliver an illicit item to a specific prisoner, unless the throwing of drugs over prison walls was a charitable act and you didn't care who got them. or got a mobile phone.
the whole concept of a person throwing items over prison walls is cartoonish ideas not reality based in any sufficiently large numbers to be genuinely, a real threat.
it was simply a way to claim you had done wrong to be obstructive of you doing something they didn't want you to do.
the Serco prison officer doesn't often get to shout, does he? playing big boy bollocks while the cop stands back knowing the cop would back him up so gets his power trip. think he owns the "once a fusilier always a fusilier" number plate, he seems dense enough and stupid enough to be a prison guard and a fusilier in the same lifetime.

Ive had to pause half way through. I love DJ's videos, but the standards slip every single time he has some other auditor with him. They are incapable of calming down, always looking to argue and its really frustrating to witness. I come to this channel because of the professional, calm and well informed nature of the audit. I hope there are less "co-audit" videos in future. In essence, DJ is so much better than other auditors, he can only keep control when its only himself.
Honestly, the other person who hangs out with him is very uncouth. I really wish he'd clammer up or if DJ can edit the other person out (or leave him at home!) :-(
