We have a look at the arrangements for the new Longwarry and Bunyip stations on the Traralgon line from a train drivers perspective. #train #driverseyeview #driversview
Love watching these videos, I worked on Tasmanian Railways in my younger dwys and wish this wascthevjob I had when I moved to Melbourne and would have been in my heyday.
And the earthworks and even some of the smaller bridges are mostly there for the second track too. And have been since the 1950s.You'd have thought they could've at least extended the duplicated tracks to just either side of the Bunyip River if doing that second bridge is really as difficult as we've been hearing. 😊
Although the single line is still there, having a second platform at both Bunyip and Longwarry is a huge improvement and cuts down the time a train has to wait for another to traverse the single line by quite a lot. 👍😀
That would be where the video stops at certain signals where an explanation of the signal is displayed on the screen for trainee drivers that may be watching. 👍😀
Interesting signal system! I know the orange with black arrow signs are speed limits, but what are the large signs blue with white number represent speed too? And keep it up loving the videos!
As stated, the pointed yellow signs are the speed and direction around the following curve while the large blue signs are the maximum speed of the track. Very happy you are enjoying the videos. 👍😀

Very happy to hear you enjoy them. 👍😀
Watching this and I think I might have to take another trip out this way again soon. When I have a free weekend, of course.
@@georgeheilman4243 sounds like a good idea. Hope you enjoy the day when you do. 👍😀
@9:57 for those who dont know Train signaling the great and yellow means Proceed, but be ready to stop at the signal after next.
Great ride along brother!
@@chefjack33 thanks. Very happy you enjoyed the ride 👍 😀
A missed opportunity in not duplicating the Bunyip River Bridge after all the money and disruption.

Is there any movement down at Morwell with connecting the second track
I'm not sure how long before it is in use but they are working on behind the scenes work that has to be completed before it can be used. 👍😀
@driver667 pfft... really, Longwarry Bunyip, done Morwell to Traralgon. Let's put that in a pipe 🤪 😤 and smoke 🚬 it
@@jimpikoulis6726 time will tell 👍😀
How come the audio cuts out a few times in the video?

@@driver667 Oh nice. That's definitely handy. I wouldn't have seen it because I'm blind, but it sounds very useful.
@@therealsammyvee888 yes, it is very useful to trainees and others. Happy to know you are enjoying the videos. 👍😀
@@driver667 Thanks, they're very good and informative.

Arrows would be speeds for the curves. Blue signs would be line limits for the Vlocities.

Sorry I’m a bit colorblind thought they were orange! Thank you for the quick reply!
