    I have a 365 xl , I put 400 rds through it with no problems. I love this gun! I also own a regular p365 FDE and have about 600 rds through that with zero issues also!

      I agree. The shooting footage is not boring like other channels and it has a stated goal/reasoning (testing the different ammo). I usually just skip it on other videos. Great quality stuff 👍

    I replaced my Kahr PM9 with the Sig. 365 XL. First time out, 400 rounds, no issues at all, excellent feed, minimal recoil. Minimal skin chaffing concealed carry. Love it, great gun. Preferred 115 grain.

    Thanks for the informative tutorial, it was well done and you covered a lot of questions anyone interested in the P365XL, might have,I haven't shot mine yet and hope my results are as good as yours, I love my P365 micro, and have been carrying it daily, I have been getting into Sig guns for a while now, and really appreciate their design and engenering , I have more of their guns than I need, but enjoy them all, I think the XL is going to be a big seller, and like you , I wish the ambi safety would have been part of the up grade, being a left hander ambi is always appreciated, Thanks again for doing this, and I'll look forward to seeing more from you in the future...

    Just some more on this Sig; its one of the most comfortable in your hand pistols that I have ever had and it shoots great! For the price its a steal of a deal and you get a nice Red Dot optic for free. This gun is now my CC and will be for some time. Its easy to conceal and holds a good deal of rounds with just the stock mags 12 rds and you can get 15 rd mags that will extend the grip for some who may need that to be comfortable with this masterpiece.

    My 365 xl does the same thing slap the mag home, with the slide locked back she goes into battery. I carry and enjoy shooting this handgun. Shoots very nice like the balance and recoil feed back to me is light for such a light weight smaller profile gun. Works for carry and lots of fun at the range as well.

    I just got my 365 XL almost a week ago an I’m loving it so far. I’ve shot about almost 300 rounds through it between 3 different range visits and on my last one which was yesterday it started going into battery when I smacks the mag as well. This is my first pistol and I wasn’t sure if that was normal or not but other than that I’ve had no issues. Planning to put another 200 rds through it tomorrow. Can’t wait. This thing is fun to shoot

    Yeah man I don't know why your channel isn't huge because you do great work. With that said I think it's only a matter of time before you really take off in terms of subscribers, you are certainly getting mine. And just as a side note that Winchester USA Forged ammo is absolute junk and I don't say that without experience. I shoot steel from time to time and for the most part I can run tulammo or wolf without issue but I can say that two 100 round boxes of that USA Forged ammo from Walmart had issues in all three of my 9mm guns (Glock 19, Glock 43, and S&W M&P compact) So I pretty much concluded that if those three guns collectively won't run the ammo then it's probably junk and I'm fairly certain that's an accurate assessment.

    Excellent review and report. Love the variety of ammo testing and checking the trigger after a few hundred rounds. Very cool. For defense pistol, your accuracy testing was perfect. It was super consistent and that’s what I would want to know. Subscribed! Love your sensible approach and commentary. Well done. I will see if you did an A-B test comparing them XL to the original 365. That will be interesting

    On a lot of modern firearms if you tap the magazine at a right angle it will send the slide home. My M&P would do the same thing, It’s by design.

  • @davidrucker7900
    @davidrucker7900 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for the review, I am considering this model over the original P365. I understand the original design was designed for minimalist carry, with a maximum capacity for a micro handgun. However, after gripping the original P365 I had trouble with the grip size and gaining a good purchase on the handgun. The P365 XL resolves those issues for my needs. I was happy to see your enjoyment in just putting the weapon through all types of ammunition and just getting back to the enjoyment of shooting. Great Job Sir!
    Respectfully,
    David M Rucker

    • @thomass5169
      @thomass5169 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Rucker , if you didn’t have the 12 round mag in p365, do so before deciding. Don’t think you will go wrong either way.
      Love my p365, February 2018 model..., but with the 12’round mag. Not as much with the 10’round magazine.

    I have a Lyman Gauge and I just did 5 pulls and the average is 1.13 so the pull has definitely improved since 2018. I knew it wasn't anywhere near 5lbs and this pistol shoots great. Got it at Buds for 633 with Romeo Zero installed. I got lucky and saw it when it first came out 2-3 wks ago it is not available anymore. I have 2 sigs and both are outstanding for accuracy and build, I got what I paid for and then some.

    I like your production of this video. The use of ultra widescreen looks great on a 34 widescreen monitor. I keep gravitating to videos of the 365xl and that could be a problem for me. My current carry is the glock 48 and I have experienced that slapping into battery a few times as well. Are you planning on adding the Sig Romeo zero when it becomes available? The 365XL has the potential of being the new "one gun" do it all replacing the glock 19.

    • @hylianknight3

      Dude I've got the same problem, I carry the 43x though. Slapping mag into battery doesnt send slide into battery for me though. I would love a 43x mos, but the p365xl looks pretty desirable

    Thank you that was a pretty decent review. I am quite happy thus far with my recent purchase of a P365 XL and agree with you that Sig Sauer has done a decent job of evolving the P365. I’ve only shot like 50 rounds straight outta the box like you as they had barely opened my local gun range up with social distancing lanes due to COVID19 a month ago when I went to pick it up as an FFL transfer. Nonetheless, it felt so good and reliable that I am already carrying it as my EDC but not with jacketed hollow points as of yet. Appreciate the heads up that the trigger might lighten up a bit after a few hundred rounds fired.

    Real good video. Happy you didn't chicken out and showed the failure to feed, slide going into battery when inserting the mag, etc. I really hate to say it but, made in New Hampshire is not the same as made in Germany/Austria. It's just not. Had one of the newer p three-sixty-fives and it did great at first, really enjoyed shooting it. At about 65o rds. it began having various problems, failure to feed, slide not returning to battery, etc. Sold it. Bought a forty-three X Glock and twenty two hundred rds. later, not ANY kind of a problem. A quality control problem I would think, just like the p three-twenty and now the XL. Either way I don't care, not in a carry gun.

    Enjoyed the video. I just bought a 365xl but haven't even shot it yet because of the distance to an open firing range. I will shoot it soon. I'm a lefty and agree with you about making it more lefty friendly. But, in this world it's important to be able to adapt. Plus, I'm 58, this is not my first rodeo in this right handed world. If you know what I mean? Anyway I liked and subscribed.

  • @barrystarr22

    I saw some comments below about Winchester ammo and I have to say I steer clear of it because of lots of FTF issues with their rimfire ammo that speaks of their quality control I don't care that its rimfire ammo, all ammo should work well. I never have any issues with Fiocchi, CCI, or Sellier & Bellot ammo. All shoot when you pull the trigger as they are all supposed to do.

    Like the video a lot, but at the beginning the jumping back and forth with the camera is much to often and not necessary in my opinion. Speak to the camera you don't need to have a ton of different angles unless you are really trying to show something like you did with the side by side and trigger testing. There was to many switches to you staring and talking forward but showing the side shot. Very nice how in depth and straight forward you were with the review. The split screen when you are shooting is really nice shot. You have some really nice B roll in the video. I Look forward to watching your channel for other videos as you have a good thing going so far.

  • @vuduong173
    @vuduong173 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    12:08 That is normal. If you hit it hard enough, you can send the slide home and chamber a round. You can do this on a lot of pistols. These are the guns that I've used in the past and was able to send the slide home with a hard enough tap: HK VP9, HK P30(L), Glock 17, 19 (and I'm assuming all Glocks can do this), Sig P365XL, I bet a lot more guns can do this. Personally, I think this is a feature of these firearms bc it aids in reloading speed so you don't have to hit the slide release or slingshot the slide. To me, it's very well be an ambidextrous feature.

    Good vids I keep enjoying stopping by to hang out lol. My thought on JustinOpinion on the 365 ammo was that he'd lubed it up with some thick ass grease. All the failures were right at first, then no issues after it worked in... not the ammo's fault.

    Great video, well thought out, articulate, answered any questions I might have had. I have the Sig p365, born into date of November 2019, and I too have had a round loaded into the chamber twice by just pounding a magazine home with my palm. What’s up with that? I discovered the round in the chamber by chance, didn’t think there was a round in the chamber because I didn’t rack the slide. Glad I didn’t pull the trigger because I was home, Gun in my appendix holster. Thanks again. I’m subscribed! Want to see more.

    Very well made video. I wouldn't worry much about the slide going home when inserting the mag. From the looks of the primer strikes, it appears that the striker is bigger in diameter at the tip. The regular 365 that I shot the striker tip was tiny. Looked like an ice pick was hitting it and then drug off onto the brass. I'm not sure of the production date. This gun really has my attention. I saw Harry's video and his had some issues for sure. Part of that could be explained by the gun being so hot. I told him I thought his recoil spring was weak. He figured it out if memory serves me. I just can't remember what he determined. I'm not suffering from memory loss....
    I'm actually enjoying it😂

    Put all 500 rounds through it of that Winchester forged steel case and let us know what you got. That stuff is terrible, it is unbelievably dirty. I put 500 through my P365 and had 15 FTEs. 15! Putting another 500 through on Friday of Federal black pack brass casings. If I have any issues I’m sending it back to Sig. EDIT: Like you I did not oil or clean it prior to shooting. I shot it right out of the box. Oiling it between mags did seem to help but only for a magazine worth of rounds.

    S&W had the same issue with their M&P’s. The slide shouldn’t move forward when a mag is inserted. That’s not normal.

      It’s very normal.

      Not really. That’s why the 2.0 models have an extra piece added to the slide stop. The 2.0 doesn’t do that anymore.

    I love my xl. I am not a fan boy or anything I just love the way it feels and shoots. Mine was also going into battery when I "smash" the magazine in. Not sure why it's doing that. Minor problem? Hopefully.

    Wish I could just get lucky more than once. Last 10 guns I've bought, 9 had issues and had to be sent to manufacturers, 2 of them I cut in half bc I gave up and they pissed me off.

    Read somewhere that all striker fired go into battery if you hit the bottom hard enough

    Great video. I subed. My M&P 40c slides home when putting in full mag also. I think it's a plus. Glock corp. must hate when another company makes a superior, money worth , product.

    Yup if I insert the mag of my xl with authority or smack the rear left corner of the magazine after inserted I can get the slide to go home. I am not sure why you gave as many cares about that though, I always take it as a bonus when shooting competition. Under what scenario that you are slamming a loaded magazine into a gun are you going to leave the slide back?

    Question... 12 round mag, seem to really have to work to get the 12th round in and there is no downward play / slack. With mine with 12 rounds had to really get ruff to lock mag when slide is in battery and when tried to rack slide slide would not move. 11 rounds...slide moves but still stiff.... works flawlessly with 10 rounds in 12 round mag.... My experience with browning HiPower 9mm... fully load mag (13 rnd) and got about 1/2 round of vertical play in mag. P365xl fully loaded mag 12 rounds in 12 round mag have to really work to get 12th round in and there is no vertical play of rounds in mag,. Got a walter pdp compact, 15 rnd mags, easy to load completely and has a bit of vertical play for the rounds in a fully loaded mag. So makes me wonder if sig 12 rnd mags need some tweeking; gun loves the ten rounds in 12 mag but if it has issues with holding and functioning with a 12 R mag this is not good, Sig says well donr insert full mag unless slide is back, also said to hit the slide forward hmmm..... If gun works flawlessly with 10 R in a 12 E mag and has issues eat out of a full 12 Rnd mag, makes me wonder !!!!????

    I bought a P365XL in Casa Grande, AZ and got one (1) 12-round magazine. I bought a Sig 15-round magazine for almost $47. I had sort of an emergency in a restroom and the 15-round mag \fell out of the holder and exploded into parts and ammo. So I have one (1) 12-round mag and one POS that I dare not use if it is that flimsy. I understand I should be getting another 12-rounder from Sig

      Look at your manual book, I heard there’s a slip in there, you have to fill it or do online for 1 free 12 rd mag.

    Did you ever find out why the pistol (365 standard & XL) goes into battery after inserting magazine w/o even hitting the slide release?
    Mine does that 8 out or 10 times when I tap that mag butt in!

  • @alexstrings
    @alexstrings 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why use a 15 round mag if you can use the 12 round and modified it with a Mag Gut +2. Now you have a 14 round small magazine and not that huge 15 round extension that look awkward.

  • @barrystarr22

    Well of Course you may have issues with the shipping grease on your pistol. You should never shoot your firearms without first cleaning all the shipping grease off and then properly lubricating your firearm. If you want to have it shoot well and last a long life, you treat it right. Also, never fire your guns and just let them sit with all the dirt from firing on them. Unless you like wasting your money that is. A gun is like your car if you take care of it, it will take care of you. Folks, if you don't have the time to properly care for your guns you may want to rethink owning them in the first place. Any gun will breakdown in performance if it isn't cared for right. They just need to be cleaned and oiled where the manual calls for it.

    I had the issue with it not going into battery. It stopped doing it after a few sessions and cleaning off all of the factory lube. But, I still don't really trust it.
