    Sharp knee anterolateral knee pain when patient performs static quads setting exercise. Is this a feature of a patellar or meniscal lesion; or other?

      Have the patient in sitting position and hold on to the distal tibia.

    How long does the position need to be held?

    why is resisted isometric testing of dorsiflexion and plantarflexion part of the RIT of the knee joint?

    While performing knee resisted why hip is flexed. Isn't there going to be active insufficiency at hip for quads ??~

    Hi I'm going to do a test on resisted ROM and I would like to know what it tests is it the nerves and blood supply? Does it test tendons or is that passive ?

    While doing resisted isometric contraction in knee flexion why put hand on hamstring because hams is knee flexor by placing hand we restrict hams

    • @Physiotutors
      @Physiotutors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's isometric so we the knee angle doesn't change and putting your hand close to the insertion should not be a problem.
      Same with a leg curl machine where hamstring length does change but you are often sitting on the hamstrings.

    how can I do gracilis muscle and sartorius muscle resisted static contraction

    • @Physiotutors
      @Physiotutors  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gracilis with adduction and a straight knee and sartorius with resistance against flexion, adduction and external rotation.
      Be aware though that it's impossible to isolate those muscle so you can never reliably test them on strength.

    What about grades

      Distinguishing 4 and 5 is completely unreliable. Better to use a dynamometer.

      @@Physiotutors really? I thought current dynamometer tech is unreliable 🤔
