I feel like this documentary is so biased and aimed to make the brothers look even crazier. Murder is never ok I understand that but I definitely feel for these young boys and can’t imagine what they want through. Just because they grew up rich doesn’t mean that their lives were perfect and definitely does mean that they weren’t abused. We can never truly know what goes on in someone’s family behind closed doors ..

@@fmpur9572 Just because you wish otherwise doesn't change the fact that they are in deed murders. Not only were they each convicted of two counts of first-degree murder, they were convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and lying in wait. Planning a murder(s) and/or ambushing your target(s) while you are not in immediate danger is unlawful in the eyes of the law and to most people with a conscience those are both unacceptable actions. Eric is scary! I believe the horrific abuse by the parents created a monster... they turned that boy into a psychopath. I watched his entire court testimony. He's maniputive and smirked while describing the killings... he is a very damaged and dangerous individual. It's not his fault, his parents created a monster with there abuse. I believe the jury saw what I saw during his testimony, that's why they convicted. Although he is a victim he is now old enough to be a perpetrator, it's highly possible Eric would continue to commit crimes and murder somebody else. The parents were killed by the monsters their abuse created! They made this boy become a psychopathic man. Its not his fault but unfortunately he needs to be in prison for the safety of society!

The worst thing, THE WORST THING that can happen to anyone as a person - apart from having to bury your own child - is to be violated by your parents like these boys were. Your nuclear family teaches you everything about life and the world and who you are. Being beaten or neglected by that nucleus is one thing - but being specifically SEXUALLY violated informs you at a young age that you have no power, you have no value, you have no autonomy and you have no safe haven emotionally; once you have been violated like that, you can never get away. These boys didn't have a CHANCE to end up any different than this.

Robert Rand is not responsible for how either program was edited, and he has given many interviews over the years. He was also a consultant on the Law & Order miniseries on the case which is the fairest and most balanced TV movie/miniseries ever produced on this case. He has been researching this case since 1989 and is the only reporter to have covered both trials. In the afterward of his book, he explains why it took him so long, and he wanted to have as much factual research as possible. Moreover, the family members trust him and helped him with the book.

Why not? Changing will in front of a witness, - sounds about right. You know, just in case of certain someone decides to, I don't know... Delete it.
What is known, according to several sources, is that there was a reference to a will in the computer, located in an upstairs bedroom of the Menendez home. The reference to the will was contained in a file name on a computer disk. Shortly after the slayings, a member of the Menendez family discovered the reference and attempted to view the file, these sources said.
But the relative was unable to do so and made plans to hire a computer expert.
Before that expert could act, however, the file was deleted from the disk in such a way that it could not be recovered by police experts, according to those sources.
Asked about the possibility of a second will, the Menendezes’ probate attorney, Stephen B. Goldberg of Redondo Beach, said: “I don’t know anything about that and we’ve got a will and I don’t want any problems with it.”
Acting on Goldberg’s advice, the Menendez brothers have so far declined to comment on the computer mystery.
Their parents’ will has been filed in Santa Monica Superior Court and is expected to be settled early next year, according to Goldberg.
It states that Jose and Kitty Menendez bequeathed their estates to each other but, in the event that “we should die in a common disaster,” the entire estate is to be turned over to Lyle and Erik Menendez.

Okay…. They were doing very well financially with their parents alive. They didn’t need their parents to be dead in order to benefit from their money. They were already doing very well benefiting from their parents money while their parents were still alive. They had been their whole lives. And without the risk of prison. I do not believe money was the motive at all. They already had that. Fear and abuse was the motive. For goodness sake they had cousins and other family members and friends testify backing up their stories and had the naked pictures their dad took of them when they were kids, their was tons of evidence

so a 8 year old boy says he's being molested and the mother just doesn't believe it? she could have investigated it herself for crying out loud *YOU LIVE N THE SAME DARN HOUSE* how can something like that get unnoticed ?
and I'm sure the sexual molestation is real because a cousin said in a interview that one of the brother's asked him if "you dad touching you there was normal" and now here another person says the boy told her. it blows my mind how they kept this thing quit for what i assume keeping their image clean.
the mother seems to be afraid to confront the father so she was taking pills to calm herself. Still staying put knowing what your child is going through is an act of pure heinous.
And after the brother knowing they were going to be deprived from their heritage that was the last straw. they were stripped away from their innocence, rejected by their mother and was going to be left alone.
after knowing that killing your parents doesn't seem that unreasonable. what they did was wrong 100% but that doesn't mean that they were the only criminals
edit: ( just saw part 5) i fucking knew it that bitch of a mother knew all along that her son was being molested and she did nothing. *she deserves hell*

I feel like they left out a crucial part in these series. If the brothers' story about the abuse is true, which it seems to be, you'd have to look at their father's history, as well. These things usually don't just 'happen'. I think that if their father abused them, then something must've happened in his childhood, presumably with his father, too. They should've also investigated in that, in my opinion... Maybe their grandfather treated their father in the same way when he was a kid and that treatment stuck to him, which would make a lot of sense, especially in a psychological way, if you'd ask me...

The toupee is important because it's literally the (supposed) smoking gun that kicked off the murders. I agree, it's the most stupidest, contrived bullshit I've ever heard from a defense, but this is literally what the brothers and their defense counsels were trying to sell to the juries during the trials. The mother ripping Lyle's hairpiece off sounds more like something you'd see on an episode of Melrose Place than an actual prelude to double murder. It amazes me that people who support them buy this hook, line, and sinker but they do.

      Let's unpack:
They planned out the murder of their parents in advance.
They got rid of the crime scene evidence to cover up their involvement.
And then, they fabricated their alibi to innoculate themselves from suspicion.
If you can't figure out why these two "beautiful men-souls" are in prison, you need to get your head straightened out. Seriously, did you get all your knowledge of criminal justice from episodes of Full House and any family sitcom in general? And if you were actually engaged in this case on a meaningful level, you'd know that they were sentenced to life without parole.
