The people behind the Genesis brand are crazier than the leaders who run Stellantis. They think a Hyundai with lipstick is worth $70-$100,000? It’s not a luxury brand if you have to take it to a Hyundai dealership for service. Over 80% of Genesis buyers are Hyundai owners who think they somehow are now rich now they drive a Genesis.
They are nice cars, but you do not in any way get a luxury experience. My wife wanted a GV70 and not a Lexus or Acura (I tried). It is has been a really good car and I expect her to keep it a long time to make it worth it. The materials and paint are top-notch. The twin turbo six turns it into a rocket.
tell your wife good luck with that twin turbo, I’d say give it maybe a lucky 3 years and let us know how much you had to spend to get it fixed at the dealership my friend and happy driving until then
@jesseevangelista2422 my turbo Genesis coupe had 11 years and 134k miles when I traded her. Ran like new. The only replacement was the flex downpipe which I did myself. I drove her year around on the salted roads. That car was better than our Honda. I have a Veloster N I drive like a punk. Not one issue. Not even creak. Propaganda much?
The margin was very thin on most sedans leading up and through the pandemic. Most manufacturers saw a gold rush, especially on trucks . Trucks and SUVs have a way higher margin. And then when you factor in the gradual yearly increases, it also explains how they’ve been having these record years year over a year until recently when interest rates got too high.
The thing about Hyundai's and Kia's is that their engines have no aftermarket support or repairability . You can fix a Honda, Toyota, or Nissan down to the bolt, unlike the Kia and Hyundai made cars
I read an article that said the vast majority of people who pay a markup, never buy a car from that brand again. Dealers who do markups are being penny wise and pound foolish. By the ill will and resentment that markups generate, dealers are throwing away future repeat and referral business in return for short term gains. Dealers need to wise up and bring their long game to the table.
The problem is that people out there are willing to pay for the mark up, so that's why most cars dealers think it's OK to do so, so the bottom line is the people and not the dealers and that how I looked at it, so please use common sense when buying a car and that will put a stop to the dealers from doing that, because you are the boss of yourself.
My neighbor bought a Kia many years ago. The engine died after two years. He bought a Toyota Highlander and hasn't looked back. My former boss bought a Tucson. It had transmission problems from the day that they bought it. Suffered through a couple of transmission repairs and replacements and then it was recalled. Then Hyundai was sued for misrepresenting gasoline mileage numbers on it so they handed out cash settlements. It seems like they're just scammy. My dealership has never done marketplace adjustments but they do add equipment. When they sell a base model, then I'll look at buying one. They had a bunch of Camrys. The ones under $30,000 all sold quickly. All of the models above $30K are just sitting there. It's pretty clear that customers want lower prices.
In order for me to buy a car right off the lot , the dealers definitely gonna have to take out that $5000 because I’m not paying it.. I didn’t ask for it ! I lease a BMW and I got it built from the factory so no marks were connected to that. This is just insane.
5K for BS options that how they make more money. I hate dealership for that reason. I went to a Honda dealership and they got me with 5K options after I read the fine print.
I had the unfortunate mind set and bought 3 different Hyundai’s stupid stupid me. All 3 were crap 2010 tucson nothing but problems, 2014 elantra sport more issues, 2015 sonata bad motor. Went back to honda. No issues at all
some dealers also enforce buyers with an 1000$ anti-theft system. when I bought my LX 570 last November, I asked the dealer to take it out. the tint is mostly useless
Hyundai and Kia offer long warranty but they don’t honor their warranty’s. They give you the run a round and find any reason to deny your claim. You have to fight them and sue to get warranty work honored . These cars look great but they are cheaply made. They cut corners and these vehicles can be problematic.
Buyers who throw their money away just because they have it is the problem. I’d raise prices too is these dumbass keep paying 100k just because it says 2025 on it .
The Sport Advanced is not even the top of the line model. My wife bought the fully loaded Sport Prestige in 2021 (2022 MY) for less than these prices. Good luck. Not worth it.
we had one of these come thru our auto auction, a 2024 with 7900 miles...couldnt fetch $35k....and we still have it after 3 weeks..no one even bids on it..just Hyundai/Kia crap with fancier trim
I have a 2024 Hyundai and I take it every 10k miles to get oil change they tell me to leave. In a nice way. My oil and car is good. And I know that. Just harass them before they harass me.
My family has 4 Hyundai and all great. However, we keep them to under 100k warranty period only. Genesis I would not buy as, again, Hyundai with lipstick.
I just brought my 2016 Mazda CX5 in for a oil change and they have brand new ones for $35,000. Mazda gets it right. Plus the CX5 is made in Hiroshima so you get excellent quality.
When I was younger Mannheim then we moved to Grafenwöhr I spent half my life in Germany, half my life in the United States now it’s definitely different over there especially the automotive market
Who is paying 75,000 to 108,000 dollars for a Hyundai? I didn't know Hyundai/Kia had vehicles that expensive I thought the most expensive Hyundai Kia was 57,000. I was wrong.
What he said about the service contract “engine for life” or whatever is only part true. You will have to have every service done on time, at a certified dealer- according to the service schedule in the owners manual. You are not required to buy all the bullshit, slimy, dealership service extras that the video says you will.
These idiot buyers piss me off way more than the manufacturers and dealers 🤬🤬🤬🤬

You can buy a Lexus cheaper....

Sounds like jealousy

$107,000 for a Hyundai?
exactly, how on earth is a Hyundai cost that much?
That's why they dropped the Hyundai badging from the Genesis.
@@doom4067 Just like Acura/Honda, Lexus/Toyota, Infiniti/Nissan...
Remember that these sales people are professionally trained to separate fools from their money.
Mean while Ford stops building the smaller sedans, So, People won't buy a larger car they go to Hyundai and Kia and make the sale.
100% agree domestic manufactures are making a mistake not selling affordable sedans
They probably stopped making smaller cars because they weren't making money on them.
Consider buying a broken Honda before a new Hyundai
The thing about Hyundai's and Kia's is that their engines have no aftermarket support or repairability . You can fix a Honda, Toyota, or Nissan down to the bolt, unlike the Kia and Hyundai made cars

These stealerships are making me sick.
I was shopping for a truck recently. I gave up shopping. NO ONE is decent anymore!!!!
Almost 5K add-on crazy A-F greedy ass dealer!

Sadly there’s too many stupid people

$107K or a Hyundai... We truly live in clown world.
I'm a big believer in buying extended warranties directly from the dealer. But not an aftermarket company,it has to be manufacturers.
In order for me to buy a car right off the lot , the dealers definitely gonna have to take out that $5000 because I’m not paying it.. I didn’t ask for it ! I lease a BMW and I got it built from the factory so no marks were connected to that. This is just insane.
Some of the new hyundais are having paint peel problems, especially the white.
5K for BS options that how they make more money. I hate dealership for that reason. I went to a Honda dealership and they got me with 5K options after I read the fine print.

Better off just purchasing a Lexus at that price point. At least you know you won’t be visiting the dealership for constant repairs
Hyundais with markups? Good luck with that.
Buyers who throw their money away just because they have it is the problem. I’d raise prices too is these dumbass keep paying 100k just because it says 2025 on it .
to be honest Hyundai should give buyers $5000 every time somebody buy those junks
And after financing for six years $190k. Add annual full coverage insurance $6k. Annual service $600. Total after 6 years $256k.🙄
My 1996 4Runner was the BEST .unfortunately I haven’t had her in 20 years
I see a lot of these new Genesis in my area but didn’t realize they’re so expensive. Damn!
Why the Mark-ups in Tulsa, here is SA Tx, you getting discounts by 2000/2500 for Hyundai and Genesis
WTF.. these dealers can all go bankrupt. Over priced cars and under pay technician.
No Hyundai is worth more than $18,000.
Hyundai N Vision 74: *Are you sure About that?*
The Toyota dealership near me has all their Rav4s packed with BS PIO
Anyone smart enough to make the money to afford those vehicles, will conclude it is not a good idea to buy them.
Hyundai must be crazy for listing prices that high. 😂
80k after taxes and fees for a Korean junk? Whaaat, that's it ridiculous
The answer to your question is no! Happy I was able to pick up a 24 4 Runner TRD pro in Terra...nothing in Hyundai and Kia's lineup even comes close.
What’s the resale value? I’ll check!
Some Honda dealerships were charging $400 for nitrogen 😂
Hyundai doesn’t really honor their warranty.
Hyundai and Kias have no aftermarket support when it comes to repairability.
The Sport Advanced is not even the top of the line model. My wife bought the fully loaded Sport Prestige in 2021 (2022 MY) for less than these prices. Good luck. Not worth it.
This car manufacturer are insane. End up buying a tesla for 40k new. Cant beat that and dont have to buy gas no more since i have a solar.
Tulsa is not the place to establish a dealer relationship and/or buy a new car!
we had one of these come thru our auto auction, a 2024 with 7900 miles...couldnt fetch $35k....and we still have it after 3 weeks..no one even bids on it..just Hyundai/Kia crap with fancier trim
I’m trying to buy a Frontier. All I’m getting is 5k of markup. For a 2024
All I’m getting? It’s still a rip off
I have a 2024 Hyundai and I take it every 10k miles to get oil change they tell me to leave. In a nice way. My oil and car is good. And I know that. Just harass them before they harass me.

What is the " Engines for Life" add on?
I guess they know that engine is going to break down at some point.
Hope it sits there for more than 1000 days
Engine for doesn’t sound like a bs markup but it should be an option not forced upon the customer
It's a BS markup of you have to agree with all their service recommendations. "Oh, you didn't add nitrogen to the tires once. Claim denied."
I like that used civic type r.
I looked it up, they are asking $34,799 and it has 41,359 miles on it!
@ nice 👍 such a fun car.
I just brought my 2016 Mazda CX5 in for a oil change and they have brand new ones for $35,000. Mazda gets it right. Plus the CX5 is made in Hiroshima so you get excellent quality.
Huffines Hyundai Plano gave me all sorts reasons not to honor the 10 year part of the warranty. I Was the first owner too.
Thomas, what part of Germany did you grow up?
When I was younger Mannheim then we moved to Grafenwöhr I spent half my life in Germany, half my life in the United States now it’s definitely different over there especially the automotive market
@@WheelsandWallets I spend lots of time in Stuttgart and Bamberg. In fact I am headed back over next month!
@LimaCompany1995
Definitely love Bamberg such a beautiful city
Hyundai and its dealers are like the delusional individual who dont know where they fall in among their peers!🤦
WOW THAT'S RIGHT IT'S KIA STEP-UP JUST LIKE TOYOTA STEP-UP LEXUS.
Who is paying 75,000 to 108,000 dollars for a Hyundai?
I didn't know Hyundai/Kia had vehicles that expensive I thought the most expensive Hyundai Kia was 57,000. I was wrong.
You just helped them out man lol #genesis

Something not being said, this “life-time warranty” is Only good at that dealership. If that dealership goes out of business, your warranty is Over
Greedy manufacturers and dealerships let the cars and trucks lotrot.
They're nice cars but nobody is paying 100k for a Korean car.
Engine for life! Hmm I'm listening
Nobody is going to keep it that long
I would rather buy a Lexus with those prices
Car cost 20k to make. Try to sell it for 100k 😂
RIPOFF
😂😂 they've can sit there for life
Kochani Amerykanie wasza waluta jest coraz mniej warta więc proponuję wziąć się więcej do pracy bo koniec drukowania na koszt całego świata
Are they smoking weed
😂😂😂😂😂 just because a gulf player got saved by that car.😂😂😂
I’ll rather pay 10,000 more and get a S class
LOL.....folks will be on the streets when they are 60
Kia Genesis Hyundai all the same junk.... I love how much they copy Mercedes-Benz from the back copycats..... Oh and the Volvo from the front
And a little earlier in the video I was going to say who was that idiot that traded at their 4Runner for a pos Hyundai.....
Lets kiss and make out while using sybians and screaming😂😂😂😂😂😂
I thought Hyundai was a crap brand
They're better than they used to be. Still not amazing.
Genesis -- the Temu of the luxury car market?
Hyundai is a Hyundai I will never buy and never looks at ( junk n Junk ),,,,
They are garbage.
Ugly cars anymore.
That 5000 is the price, rest is the markup.
False, the dealership cant force you to do anything.
your warranty will be void..
That's correct.....they have you by the short hairs.
They can if you ever want to use the warranty that you spent 5k dollars on. You're getting got either way
For a 100,000 grand go buy a Mercedes or Bmw 😂
